Lost Paws Update 1.0.9 (Compass, Crafting & More)

[p]Hello everyone![/p][p][/p][p]Following the end of the winter holiday, we've been hard at work preparing our next big round of improvements to the game. Introducing update 1.0.9, with a NSEW Compass, Special Event enhancements, and a few bug fixes![/p][p][/p]
NSEW Compass for The World Map
[p]Throughout the course of Lost Paws, many a friend or foe within the game gave reference to various locations, often using such terms as "Go north," or "Go bother someone else", and phrases to the like. To that end, we realized it would be helpful to directly show via the GUI just where exactly these directions were in relation to the game world. With this thought in mind, we set out to showcase such details on the world map, and the following results were born.[/p][p][/p][p]Here is an example of what The World Map looks like now with its newly added compass[/p][p][/p]
Special Events Enhancement
[p]Within the world of Lost Paws, there are various unusual incidents that can occur and alter the way you play. Scenarios like these happen most frequently in the Government District located within Doggo City. With an eye to furthering improving such events, we went about adding an additional degree of both variety and randomness to events like these to further add more unexpected moments in the game for our favorite canine.[/p][p][/p][p]Here is an example of a different path and spawn a certain saucer can take in the Government District[/p][p][/p]
New Crafting Item Effects
[p]Since the introduction of our new trailer last December, we've been continuing to tweak and improve the benefits granted by using the brand new crafting items teasered back then. All three new crafting items have had their effects tuned and improved based on feedback we've received, as well as their visual effects enhanced.[/p][p][/p][p]Here is an example of the new "Overwatch Medicine" in action, boosting a friend's ammo[/p][p][/p]
Other Changes / Additions
  • [p] Added a NSEW Compass to the World Map to aid with navigation[/p]
  • [p] Implemented two additional Points of Interest to map for exploration[/p]
  • [p] Updated the localization for brand new Cat Trader and Shibu dialogue[/p]
  • [p] Improved visual and buff effects for the 3 new crafting items[/p]
  • [p] Adjusted localization text size for various inventory items and GUI elements[/p]
  • [p] Added in 2 more pathing options for the UFO special event in-game[/p]
  • [p] Tweaked the algorithm for item spawn rates and typed for balancing purposes[/p]
  • [p] Added additional custom sounds to even more NPCs found within the game[/p]
  • [p] Modified the NPC visuals to be more beach-centric in Ostrich Island[/p]
  • [p] Told several static NPCs they had to stop sliding around when no one was looking[/p]
  • [p] Fixed a bug involving several NPCs having incorrect decal settings[/p]
  • [p] And several more![/p]

We continue to make preparations for our next major update in version 1.1.0, where our courageous canine will see many improvements to the HUD and much more in the future. Lost Paws Update 1.0.8 (Map & Sounds Overhaul)

[p]Hello everyone![/p][p][/p][p]Though times may pass, and seasons change, our favorite canine returns once again. Presenting update 1.0.8, with a World Map Overhaul, many Sound Improvements, and a few bug fixes to boot![/p][p][/p]
Enhanced World Map
[p]Our previous map, despite all its glory, ran into a problem most disagreeable. This issue concerned barricades (and maybe a few misplaced happy little trees). It had come to our attention that the players yearned for greater visual clarity on their maps, and clearly our advanced GPS systems just weren't cutting it. So we went back to the drawing board, for the maps clearly needed to update for major obstructions along our wayward dog's journey, much like internet maps informing you of your impeding doom up ahead on a roadway.[/p][p][/p][p]Here is an example of what the World Map looks like now when you're starting out fresh-faced[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]Here is an example of what the World Map looks like now when you've unlocked many major pathways[/p][p][/p]
Cat Trader Sell Fixes
[p]Following our full release in November, it became clear that the local Cat Traders were collectively in on a shell game targeting all fluffy dogs! This was obviously unacceptable, and maybe a little unintentional, so we got to work ensuring fair economic play was occurring for animals of all shapes, sizes, and floof.[/p][p][/p][p]Cat Traders now no longer report incorrect size restraints on how much inventory you have left[/p][p][/p]
Other Changes / Sound Improvements
  • [p] Crowds now have many new sounds to respond to barks and bonks[/p]
  • [p] Certain Quest Items now have a special sound added to them when acquired in game[/p]
  • [p] Fixed a bug involving the loss of an important Quest Item due to some dubious selling habits[/p]
  • [p] Made several archways in the Government District respect the laws of gravity better[/p]
  • [p] Reduced a certain Green Bag's stealth skill in Beaver Town to make it easier to find[/p]
  • [p] Fixed a door in the Government District that may have allowed you to fall into The Backrooms.[/p]
  • [p] And several more![/p]
