Demo v0.5 BIG UI and Talent Tree Update!

Hi everyone!
Thanks for reading my update. The main focus of this update was to create a talent tree for meta progression, and to work on the UI. The talent tree features 45 unique talents to learn. The Combat UI has been completely redone including the combo grid and all the rewards. New enemies were added, including a new 2nd World Boss!

-If you want to get the extended demo, please join the Discord and ask for the code. That will allow you to fight the 2nd boss, and see the beginning of world 3!

[h3]Meta Progression Talent Tree[/h3]
  • added 3 separate skill trees (Combat, Magic, and Leadership)
  • Each tree has 15 different talents
  • 1 talent from each tree is unlockable in the demo
  • You earn talent points by completing the demo (if you earn enough EXP)


[h3]World[/h3]
  • World Map #3 added
  • Warrior story for world 3 added
  • Mage story for world 3 added


[h3]New Enemies:[/h3]
  • “New World 2 Boss”: (only available in extended demo)
  • “Champion Soldier”: An enemy who deals more dmg the more health he is missing, has single target attack, and cleave attack
  • “Demon Monk”: Has a passive barrier, a poison spray attack, and an attack up buff


[h3]New UI:[/h3]
  • Combat scene UI completely redone
  • New art for: combo grid, buttons, rewards windows, health and mana bars etc.
  • Debuffs under them are now under the health and mana bar instead of below the enemy


[h3]Shops Rework:[/h3]
  • Spell Shop offers 4 cards instead of 3
  • Now sells 4 random artifacts
  • Layout has been changed
  • Minimum card cost is now 100
  • Weapon Shop now sells 4 random artifacts

[h3]Barrier Mechanic:[/h3]
  • Added in a barrier mechanic that blocks a set amount of damage. If not 0, it continues into the next round.
  • Some barriers refresh each round


[h3]Barrier Card[/h3]
  • Added a barrier card for players (gives a barrier that blocks up to 10 damage and lasts 3 rounds)


[h3]Number indicator [/h3]
  • for debuffs that have a set duration (ex: sleeping enemies, or… certain bosses)


[h2]Balance:[/h2]

[h3]Cards:[/h3]
  • rebalanced starting mage spells
  • -”Fireball” reduced mana cost by 5
  • -”Lightning” reduced mana cost by 5
  • Cards that block damage have been buffed to block more damage
  • “Immolation” now gives dmg resist
  • “Dark prism” also adds damage for each debuff on the enemy
  • “Hone skill” mana cost dcr by 10


[h3]Enemies:[/h3]
  • “Summoner Sword” Enemy hp increased by 75 and damage incr by 5
  • “Imp” now has 50 less hp, and reduced status resistance
  • “Golem” is now weaker, and comes with 2 instead of one.
  • “Pipe of friendship” bonus decreased from 25% to 15%
  • “Poisonous Shroom” now gives +2 poison at start instead of +1
  • Some enemy attacks have been modified for when theyre recruited on your team. Ex: Satyr and Bear (so their damage doesn't scale out of control)

  • Upper weapon range damage decreased by 2

Couldnt move gear if you tried to sell it previously

[h3]Demo Restrictions:[/h3]
  • Demo now has restricted progress. Cannot go past 75% of world 2 unless you have the Extended Demo Code found in the discord channel
  • Cards unlocked, deckbuilding cards, and artifacts limit is restricted unless you have the Extended Demo Code found in the discord channel

Demo v0.4 Major Game Update!

Hi everyone!
Sorry its been so long with holidays etc. Here is the next update though :) Tons of changes I am sure you will enjoy. The demo is longer now, and there are more new monsters to defeat! The map gives more opportunities too, and there is a lot of beautiful new artwork to see and game choices to make! Enjoy and see you next update!

Patch Notes

Big Changes
-Hex tiles have been rotated so player has 3 movement choices instead of 2 when on world map
-Events page redesigned to look like Story Page
-New artwork for all Events
-World map compass removed, and now all sites have tooltips
-Cards now have sub tooltips to explain any additional information (such as buffs/debuffs/discard after play/ etc)
-Enemy damage is less by ⅓ the first 3 rounds of combat
-Combat UI revised (smaller for more space)
-Position of Hero, Allies, Enemies adjusted
-Length before end of demo has been extended to right before end of world map 2

Small Changes
-Card Viewer now shows 4 cards per row instead of 3
-Weapon modifiers (ex: 3% chance to cast a spell, lifesteal etc.) now work for Allies/Recruited Enemies
-End of run rewards now loops back to the start if you reach the end of the rewards (more rewards are possible this way)
-VFX size and position corrected when using most player cards
-Shows “No Mana” if an enemy doesnt have mana for a spell
-Discard after play cards now only have 3 uses and a number indicator
-Dire Rats encounter now has 1 less rat
-For the player Physical/Magical resistance is now just Damage Resistance, though enemies still have physical/magical resistance
-some UI SFX changes

Bug Fixes
-Fixed summons not being summoned correctly if someone in your party had died during combat
-Fixed trashed cards not being able to be used in the next combat
-Fixed locked cards carrying over locked status into next combat (from the Satyr’s lock card spell)
-Fixed Mage Hero death turning into the warrior during animation
-FixedSplitting Slime problem when it splits and on your team (no longer splits if its on your team)
-Fixed bound cultist doesn't heal lowest hp ally all the time when on your team.
-Fixed bound cultist hard to see their status effects
-Fixed UI issues like bottom bar overlapping victory window, and end of run rewards window
-Fixed chain lightning sfx going off when sound is off
-Fixed being able to click further ahead while traveling on the map, and activating a location your player wasnt on
-Fixed bug with HP/Mana bars not being in the correct position when illusion boss duplicated
-Fixed player alignment with HP/Mana bars

Demo v0.35 Big Update!

Big Features
New World Map!
-includes all new tiles for each location (enemy encounter, weapon shop, spell shop, etc.)
-includes new terrain tiles
-includes new foliage (trees)
-have alternate maps for world map 1 and 2
-new player icon on map


Allies (including Monsters) can now level up!
-each level they gain +4 all attributes
-on levels 2 and 3 they gain upgraded skills (not monsters only hired allies)


All allies in inventory can use Weapons/Armor!
-this includes monsters too
-stats for allies and monsters are shown in your inventory (just like the player)
You can resurrect fallen allies in the recruit shop!
-includes allies/monsters. 150 for a monster and 200 for an ally. Price Increases in each world.


You can kick allies from your party
-open inventory and select the kick icon on the unit
You can now sell gear at the weapon shop
-sell price is 50% of the bought price
You can now Reroll gear in the shop.
-generates three new gears. Price of reroll increases with each use.


Inventory space is now infinite!
-you can hold as much gear as you want


-Mage hero imported into combat scene! (Before it was the warrior as a placeholder)

[h2]Other Features[/h2]
-Shows pictures on side of inventory window of your current allies
-you can click on their picture to see individual stats of allies
-In world map shows pictures of allies in your group and monsters.
-for example if you have a slime monster in your party, it will show a slime icon

-New more zoomed out combat bkg
-Pictures of group members moved to bottom of screen in world map (QOL)
-Ally is shown when bought in the bottom bar and when you find them after combat (QOL)
-Shows Ally EXP on the bottom bar
-now shows ally HP on the tooltip (so you know when you recruit them how much HP they have)
-Inventory blocks enemy/ally tooltips behind it. For example when you open inventory in combat zone.
-Player move speed on world map is now 2x
-Tutorial been updated to include new images and split modifiers from swapping tiles

[h2]Bug Fix[/h2]
-fixed going over 4 allies and illusionist going over 4 illusions
-fixed hurt / death animations for enemies 1-4 (rat, slime , rat mage, boar, totem summoner, totem)
-shop doesnt restrict you from buying gear if inventory is full. It will add it to stash now
-fixed blood necklace artifact not dealing double damage on CRIT

[h2]Balance[/h2]
-wisdom now increases allies hp by 15 instead of 10
-When you take more wisdom stats from leveling up or gear your allies instantly gain the extra benefit hp change (before it wouldn't update after the ally or monster joins group)
-Small Rat, and Rat Mage HP decreased by 10
-Attack damage increased for some later enemies
-reduced how fast weapon damage scales with the player level (was 3*player lv, now 2*player level)

  • Combat Zone now has a cascading effect for the enemies (instead of a straight line they are in diagonal)
  • Changed the World Map to Hex tiles instead of Squares (careful because you can be stuck by trees!)
  • Added infinite inventory space
  • Inventory placeholder to show everyone in team. Not working yet, but its coming...
