Forgotlings combine a heartfelt story with action, stealth and minigames. An audiovisual feast employing traditional 2D animation, full voice-acting and a score featuring 'Theatre of Voices', a world-renowned choir ensemble heard in acclaimed movies like Denis Villeneuve's Arrival.

After 4 years of development and a successful kickstarter in the summer of 2023, indie developer Throughline Games is gearing up to release their anticipated followup to critically acclaimed debut title Forgotton Anne.

Hi again, Forgotlings fans, and a very happy National Fig Week if you celebrate (and who wouldn't?)! What better way to recognize the holiday than to introduce you to Fig himself?

In the Forgotten Lands, a realm beyond our own, everyday objects transform into something more special, waking with newfound consciousness and becoming Forgotlings! But Fig, a posing doll, is even more extraordinary than that: he’s a Shooting Star, a rare sort of Forgotling that descends from what their world calls “The Ether”. Shooting Stars often possess vivid memories of their past lives as cherished objects in the human world – something which connects in our story to the face you see drawn on Fig's chest.


⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Early art style experiments with Fig before it was clear how he was meant to be portrayed

Fig starts the game as a naive new spawn, exploring the world around him in nearly child-like wonder – and with so much out there to explore, our hero takes to the seas as the captain of a ship. As he journeys on, he quickly learns of the realm's five tribes… and before long, stumbles upon remnants of an ancient Forgotling civilization and whispers of the past.


But Fig doesn't do this alone. Along the way, you'll encounter a number of vibrant Forgotlings with their own goals, quirks, and personalities… some easier to bond with than others. Fig does embody goodness and optimism – but just like in the human world, things aren’t always as simple as good versus evil. Your choices as a player will instead focus on how Fig can consider other Forgotlings' emotions and reactions, create meaningful interactions, and act with care around intentions and consequences in the context of the goodness within him.

But he’s brave, charming, and good, and with someone like you behind him helping guide the way, perhaps success is just beyond the horizon…

Step into the shoes (boots!) of Fig, compelled to endure physical trials at Camp Discovery. These trials are designed for the staff to assess his abilities and thereby determine his value in the New Spawn Trade.

Get a taste of Forgotlings and try out the INA boardgame, test your fighting skills, and obtain all achievements!

The Demo is compatible with controllers.
