Road to 1.0 - Devlog 02

Hello vikings!!

Welcome to devlog 02!
Here are the features we’re currently working on and that will be available on the 1.0 launch day, April 26th.

[h2]Character masteries [/h2]
We are happy to share that we finished all the character masteries.
M.I.S.S.I.N.G.’s are really fun, as he will copy random masteries of other characters.

[h2]Key binding[/h2]
We decided to wait until we developed every mechanic to add this feature, so now it’s time we can all customize keys :D

[h2]Artbook [/h2]
Nordic Ashes Artbook is going really well too. It will include different sections, such as enemies and background, characters and their skins, relics… everything you see in the game will be captured in the artbook! And of course, a ton of sketches!

On another note, Gnöki plush prototype is already on the making, so we should have pictures in a few weeks!

[h2]Next steps[/h2]
On the following weeks we will be adding new achievements, new relics and… Gnöki told us he heard about a mysterious survivor wanting to join ranks… we’ll need to investigate more about that………………………..

Spring Sale

This means Nordic Ashes will have a 20% discount during one week until March 21st.

Road to 1.0 - Devlog 01

How are you doing?
It felt so weird not to upload anything last week, but here we go with our first devlog!
We’ve been working on many things these past two weeks. Keep in mind all this content is work in progress!

[h2]Character Skill Branches[/h2]
It’s finally time! We’ve been postponing the character branches for a long time now.
Here you can see how Thyra’s branch is looking:

We want these “Character Masteries” or “Character Skill Branches” to be nice aid to make your characters stronger but not a total game changer where you destroy everything you step on after reaching level 10.
You will earn xp each time you play with a character. This xp will be then exchanged for level points, used to upgrade your character. There will be 10 levels available to complete with each character.

[h2]Gnöki Golden Badges[/h2]
We are finally revealing the use of the golden badges you earn on daily challenges!

You will be able to exchange them for GOLDEN SKINS.
Each character will have its own.

[h2]Character DASH[/h2]
This has been highly requested and we also felt it would suit characters very well and not just Hansi. We’ve been playing using dashes for two weeks and it feels really rewarding.

Every character will have 1 dash charge available from the start.

[h2]Save slots[/h2]
We’re implementing a system where you will be able to save, load or delete your game progress. This doesn’t mean you will be able to save in the middle of a run. This system is created in order to handle game data and backups.

Remember 1.0 release will be on April 26th!

Thanks for commenting all your feedback on Asgard Realm!
On today’s update we’ve added the following:

[h2]Asgard balancing[/h2]
We've been making some tweaks so runs feel more balanced.

You will notice some changes on Loki, Frigg and Thor. For example, Loki's attacks were difficult to dodge, so we've improved visual feedback.
Visual upgrade on enemy lasers, they now have a telegraph so they can be better seen.
Improved visibility of floor traps,
Asgard complete sountrack is now ready!

[h2]Ragnarok and Nightmare[/h2]
This means we have Ragnarok and Nightmare mode in all realms!

[h2]New relics[/h2]

9 new starting relics (6 weapons and 3 passives) to add more variety to the first runs. You will find all these items available from the beginning of your adventure :)
You will also be able to unlock Mjölnir, Thor's hammer!

[h2]Game Balancing[/h2]

The following enemy abilities have been nerfed: Enemy Revive, Armor, Autoheal and Spiral Projectiles
The following curse has been nerfed: Projectiles Death Curse is now less likely to appear.
Right clicking now permanently activates/deactivates manual aim. The left click still works the same (keep pressed to activate manual aim).
Prism relic is now Epic instead of Legendary.

Asgard Realm

Asgard Realm

Today’s the day! Finally, the last realm, Asgard, is live!
We couldn’t be happier about it, it’s been a long journey and we are very grateful for you all, for your support, feedback and everything!

Asgard realm is a bit different from the others. You will fight the most known gods of Norse Mythology including Loki, Thor…! We’ve been wanting to develop them since day one :D

This realm will also include a 5th wave to make things more epic. Expert mode will also have a surprise at the end. We won’t spoil much more so you can explore this realm by yourselves!

And now, what we all have been waiting for… future steps! Release date! New content! A new Gnöki plush?!
Let’s go one by one:

Release date: April 26th

Mark your calendars for April 26th! Nordic Ashes 1.0 will be out that day and we want to deliver the best game possible! So let’s do it! ːNA_Gnokiː

We are going to take a couple of months before the official release date so we can polish everything, redraw some things, etc.

More relics

[h2]Asgard Ragnarok and Nightmare[/h2]
We will update next week with this two game modes so they are complete.

[h2]Gnöki Plush[/h2]
Many of you have written to us asking how to get a Gnöki plush. As the past campaign was a success, we will be releasing a new version of the Gnöki plush, based on the illustration below. We’re really hyped about it! More details in the future.

[h2]Dark Knight Skins[/h2]
Long time ago we decided these skins would be Early Access Exclusive, but after reading your feedback (and thank you for the people who write polite feedback) we’ve decided to make them permanent, just as the event skins.
However, just as themed skins, it will be easier to get them before 1.0 as a thank you for the early support of the game.

Price increase

It will be 2 years of development the day we release the game. We never imagined this game would turn out so big. We love reading comments and watching people that have played for 1hour, 10 hours… more than a 100 hours?! It’s so amazing!
And for all this content and effort developing the game we firmly believe that the price should be increased. Its future price will change from 4.99$ to most likely, 8.99$. This will happen on March 25th.

If you want to get it at a discounted price, we have a 20% discount running until Feb 24th, and Spring Sale will still be there before the price increase, so you can still grab it at a lower price then.

[h2]News updates[/h2]
We won’t be updating the game after next week. But as always, we’d like to keep you informed about our progress and what we’re developing. So expect a News post every two weeks or so.

[h2]Future DLCs[/h2]
On the release date, we will have 2 DLCs available: Artbook and Soundtrack. Both of them will be available on the store page.

And after release, we will start working on content DLCs! We still have many ideas we’d like to add to the game that would suit very well as DLCs.
