Niflheim Realm

[h2]Niflheim, the seventh Realm[/h2]
First of all, new Realm available: Niflheim! This is the realm where everything started. Its deep layers of ice make it the coldest realm on Norse mythology.

You will meet Auðumbla, the Primal Cow, one of the first beings ever created. Also meet Buri, the first of Gods and grandfather to Odin.

We’ve added new content since the Beta. For example, you will find the Blizzard Curse at the beginning of each run. A new kind of heart has been added, the Ice Heart Container. When hit, you will repel the enemies around you and slow them down. This of course, will come with a new set of Ice Potions.

[h2]We’re gonna swap two final bosses[/h2]
While developing the game, we thought Ymir would fit great on Jotunheim, as he was the father of giants. However, Ymir is also the first being that ever existed. And that’s why we are going to swap things around and make him the final boss on Niflheim.
But, what about Jotunheim then? We decided to ask Jörð, Thor’s mom if she would like to defend her realm, and she proudly accepted.
So, in this update, you will fight Jörð as final boss on Niflheim. In a few weeks we will swap Ymir and Jörð so everything makes sense and players don’t feel that confused with this change. We hope we explained ourselves!
When the time comes, we will post an update explaining the changes.

[h2]Ice Relics[/h2]
As this is an ice related update, 4 new relics will become part of the glossary.

[h2]Nightmare Mode[/h2]
Nightmare Mode will now be available on Alfheim and Svartalfheim too so you can test you abilities in this challenging 9 wave run.

[h2]Helga Boost[/h2]
Because she deserves it, Helga's ultimate abillty will now feature more stacks so you can make her even stronger!

[h2]Spooky Season News[/h2]
To celebrate Fall and Spookiness, this Sunday, October 1st, we will publish another update with new content!

Halloween decorations, spooky relics, one themed character skin and a brand new survivor to join ranks!
Here’s a sneak peek… any guesses??? See you in a few days to uncover all the content!

Update v0.11.6.1

Hello vikings!
Hotfix on the way! Thanks for reporting all the issues you have experienced. Here we go:

Glitch relic was pushing enemies too far away.
Some props were still appearing close to altars.
There was a bug related to Jotunheim's curse when grabbing fire relics.

Niflheim Beta
Today we are so happy to release the 7th Realm on Beta mode: Niflheim! This is the realm where everything started. Its deep layers of ice make it the coldest realm on Norse mythology.

[h2]How to access the Beta?[/h2]
REMEMBER: To play the beta, you will need to have purchased Nordic Ashes previously.

Open the Steam application.
Go to the Steam library and select Nordic Ashes.
Right click on it and select Properties.
A panel will open, select the Beta option.
Enter the following code: NordicAshesBeta
Click the button to verify that it is correct.
If everything is OK, you will have the Beta option in the drop-down menu. Select it and the game will be updated.

First of all, we’d like to share the following disclaimer (don’t forget to read #8)

Keep in mind that this is a Beta and therefore it may contain bugs and balancing issues.
The purpose of the Beta is that you have access to an early version of the game, so you can help us to fix bugs, balance the game and give suggestions.
The Betas last for a certain period of time. We will release them as new updates are released. This particular one will be open for 1 week.
There is a specific discussion for beta feedback in Steam.
The Beta progress will be saved in your actual account.
You can unlock the Steam achievements already published, but the new ones that will be released will not be available. However, once the Beta version is released, you will receive all achievements you have already earned.
You may upload or stream Beta content if you wish. However, please add a disclaimer to your videos/streams to announce that it is the Beta you are playing, not the public version of the game.
IMPORTANT: To avoid any loss of your progress please follow the next steps:
a. Create a backup of your saving files just in case. There should be no issues but just to be safe please do. You may find them here:
i. windows: %USERPROFILE%/AppData/LocalLow/Noxfall Studios/Nordic Ashes/Backup
ii. macOS: ~/Library/Application Support/com.NoxfallStudios.NordicAshes/Backup
iii. linux: ~/.config/unity3d/Noxfall Studios/Nordic Ashes/Backup
b. After playing the Beta, if you wish to return to the main version of the game and deactivate the Beta, please notice that your Beta progress will be lost.

On today’s update we are releasing the following features and fixes:

[h2]Vanaheim OST[/h2]
We are happy to announce new music tracks for the whole realm of Vanaheim, composed by Rubén Melià!

[h2]Niflheim Beta News[/h2]
We wanted to publish Niflheim beta today, but we need a few days to polish it, so we will release it on Saturday instead!

[h2]Fixes and improvements[/h2]

Poison Cloud relic visual effect has some alpha now. It was too opaque and it could reduce a lot of visibility when it had a large area.
In some cases, bosses stayed immune and impossible to defeat, this should be fixed by now.
Sindri’s sword attack is now fixed.
Spike Curse spikes were not working properly.
Enemy protection ability made some enemies permanently immune.
Some texts were misplaced.
Vanaheim’s final boss Njord will be invulnerable less time as it took too long to defeat.
Game would sometimes crash after selling relics to Olga.
Props could disappear in front of you in some cases.
In some cases, projectiles didn't deal damage.
Props should no longer appear on top of shrines.

Hello!
Hotfix day! Thank you so much for reporting issues and bugs. Here is the list of fixes:

Lasers in Vanaheim won't instantly hit anymore.
Shrines won't hide behind trees or other elements.
Ragdolls will now disappear after its duration's finished.
In certain situations damaged suffered by Gods was increasing randomly.
Minor changes in some texts.
