Hi!
Here’s a hotfix for yesterday’s update.

• There was a bug where upgrades in chests from the Bat Staff broke the game.
  
• Some texts were misspelled.
  
• Blud’s Ultimate has been buffed. Damage numbers have also been enlarged so you can easily identify them.
  
• Blud's Ultimate was not being unlocked in the Glossary.
  
• Energy Rod no longer activates inside Gnöki’s Realm.
  
• You may now enable/disable the visual event features with your keyboard or controller.
  

On Thursday we will update with new QoL and suggestions you made last week.

Greetings vikings!
And welcome to Nordic Ashes Spooky Season! ːNA_Normalː

Beginning today, October 1st until November 2nd we are celebrating pumpkin spice and embracing darkness (very dramatic).

As we did last year, Midgard will be decorated with pumpkins and spiderwebs. Spooky themed Relics will make an appearance again, this time with their own ascensions (can you believe last year we didn’t have any ascensions at all? So much has changed ːNA_Gnokiː)



Please notice that themed relics will appear more often than regular ones.
On that note, you may disable the Halloween event on the Settings panel if you prefer to play regular runs.

And of course, we couldn’t publish a Halloween update with just a little bit of content. We wanted to go BIG and decided to create a new character and a spooky character skin to join our family! We also designed these beautiful wallpapers so you can download them and keep them!

[h2]New Character: BLUD![/h2]
Hidden inside a tombstone, a malignant creature has awakened…
With a new set of skills and his own way of surviving, Blud came here to disrupt Ragnarok and beat up some monsters!

This is also our tribute to Vampire Survivors, the game that made this genre accessible to millions of players! We hope you enjoy Blud and his easter egg-ish way of unlocking him! ːNA_RedHeartː

As much as Blud can be Halloween related, this is NOT part of the Spooky season, the release dates simply coincided. This means he is a permanent character and you will always be able to unlock him.

Welcome Amaranth and all her plant fellows dressed up as terrific monsters :D
Unlock her skin during the Spooky season and keep it forever!

[h2]Niflheim, the seventh Realm[/h2]
First of all, new Realm available: Niflheim! This is the realm where everything started. Its deep layers of ice make it the coldest realm on Norse mythology.

You will meet Auðumbla, the Primal Cow, one of the first beings ever created. Also meet Buri, the first of Gods and grandfather to Odin.



We’ve added new content since the Beta. For example, you will find the Blizzard Curse at the beginning of each run. A new kind of heart has been added, the Ice Heart Container. When hit, you will repel the enemies around you and slow them down. This of course, will come with a new set of Ice Potions.


[h2]We’re gonna swap two final bosses[/h2]
While developing the game, we thought Ymir would fit great on Jotunheim, as he was the father of giants. However, Ymir is also the first being that ever existed. And that’s why we are going to swap things around and make him the final boss on Niflheim.
But, what about Jotunheim then? We decided to ask Jörð, Thor’s mom if she would like to defend her realm, and she proudly accepted.
So, in this update, you will fight Jörð as final boss on Niflheim. In a few weeks we will swap Ymir and Jörð so everything makes sense and players don’t feel that confused with this change. We hope we explained ourselves!
When the time comes, we will post an update explaining the changes.

[h2]Ice Relics[/h2]
As this is an ice related update, 4 new relics will become part of the glossary.



[h2]Nightmare Mode[/h2]
Nightmare Mode will now be available on Alfheim and Svartalfheim too so you can test you abilities in this challenging 9 wave run.



[h2]Helga Boost[/h2]
Because she deserves it, Helga's ultimate abillty will now feature more stacks so you can make her even stronger!

[h2]Spooky Season News[/h2]
To celebrate Fall and Spookiness, this Sunday, October 1st, we will publish another update with new content!

Halloween decorations, spooky relics, one themed character skin and a brand new survivor to join ranks!
Here’s a sneak peek… any guesses??? See you in a few days to uncover all the content!

Hotfix on the way! Thanks for reporting all the issues you have experienced. Here we go:

• Glitch relic was pushing enemies too far away.
  
• Some props were still appearing close to altars.
  
• There was a bug related to Jotunheim's curse when grabbing fire relics.

[h2]How to access the Beta?[/h2]
REMEMBER: To play the beta, you will need to have purchased Nordic Ashes previously.

1. Open the Steam application.
   
2. Go to the Steam library and select Nordic Ashes.
   
3. Right click on it and select Properties.
   
4. A panel will open, select the Beta option.
   
5. Enter the following code: NordicAshesBeta
6. Click the button to verify that it is correct.
   
7. If everything is OK, you will have the Beta option in the drop-down menu. Select it and the game will be updated.

First of all, we’d like to share the following disclaimer (don’t forget to read #8)

1. Keep in mind that this is a Beta and therefore it may contain bugs and balancing issues.
   
2. The purpose of the Beta is that you have access to an early version of the game, so you can help us to fix bugs, balance the game and give suggestions.
   
3. The Betas last for a certain period of time. We will release them as new updates are released. This particular one will be open for 1 week.
   
4. There is a specific discussion for beta feedback in Steam.
   
5. The Beta progress will be saved in your actual account.
   
6. You can unlock the Steam achievements already published, but the new ones that will be released will not be available. However, once the Beta version is released, you will receive all achievements you have already earned.
   
7. You may upload or stream Beta content if you wish. However, please add a disclaimer to your videos/streams to announce that it is the Beta you are playing, not the public version of the game.
   
8. IMPORTANT: To avoid any loss of your progress please follow the next steps:
   a. Create a backup of your saving files just in case. There should be no issues but just to be safe please do. You may find them here:
   i. windows: %USERPROFILE%/AppData/LocalLow/Noxfall Studios/Nordic Ashes/Backup
   ii. macOS: ~/Library/Application Support/com.NoxfallStudios.NordicAshes/Backup
   iii. linux: ~/.config/unity3d/Noxfall Studios/Nordic Ashes/Backup
   b. After playing the Beta, if you wish to return to the main version of the game and deactivate the Beta, please notice that your Beta progress will be lost.
