This update fixes a few things you reported:

• Torches will last more time when lit and less time when off on Expert Mode. It will take less time to warm up now.
  
• The Freezing Curse now takes longer to add new stacks.
  
• Hafgrim’s Thunder Codex ascension was bugged.
  
• Orglo’s staff visual effects have been softened.
  
• Tarot Deck was bugged and only froze enemies.

Today we bring you a really cool (no pun intended, maybe yes) update with the release of a new Realm and a new Game Mode!

[h2]Jotunheim Realm![/h2]
Welcome to the frozen depths of Jotunheim, home to giants and monstrous (for some people adorable) creatures.

This new Realm comes with a new mechanic, Curses, effects that will last the entire run. Specifically, Jotunheim comes with the Frost Curse that will reduce your stat speed over time. But don't worry, warm yourself up around a bonfire to reduce the freezing and you will be good to go.

You may find a more detailed info about the Freezing Curse in the pause panel.

[h2]Endless Mode![/h2]
Once you have completed any Realm on Expert mode, you will be able to access Endless Mode. A never ending run where you can test your best build and see how far you can go.
Each time you complete a cycle the enemies will get stronger.


[h2]New Relics![/h2]
Wanna wield Orglo’s staff? Or maybe wear Halvard’s crown to summon burning rocks that fall from the sky?


[h3]Fixes[/h3]

• Fixed a bug that caused bosses to stop moving.
  
• Time begun to run before starting a game.
  

[h3]Changes[/h3]

• UI information about how much damage mobs/boss inflict is better displayed. This UI position is adjusted when the Wave bar is hidden.
  
• Ragnarok final bosses and some enemies HP has been increased.
  
• In Endless Mode you will have the option to Surrender at any time in the pause panel.
  
• Game performance has been improved. Players who were experiencing low fps should now see an improvement. We are still working on performance to provide the best experience possible.
  
• Now setting the effect visibility to minimum value will make projectiles and their related effects to be fully transparent.
  
• Leaderboards will reset with this update.

[h2]How to access the Beta?[/h2]
REMEMBER: To play the beta, you will need to have purchased Nordic Ashes previously.

1. Open the Steam application.
   
2. Go to the Steam library and select Nordic Ashes.
   
3. Right click on it and select Properties.
   
4. A panel will open, select the Beta option.
   
5. Enter the following code: NordicAshesBeta
6. Click the button to verify that it is correct.
   
7. If everything is OK, you will have the Beta option in the drop-down menu. Select it and the game will be updated.

First of all, we’d like to share the following disclaimer (don’t forget to read #9)

1. Keep in mind that this is a Beta and therefore it may contain bugs and balancing issues.
   
2. The purpose of the Beta is that you have access to an early version of the game, so you can help us to fix bugs, balance the game and give suggestions.
   
3. The Betas last for a certain period of time. We will release them as new updates are released. This particular one will be open for 1 week.
   
4. There is a specific discussion for beta feedback in Steam.
   
5. The Beta progress will be saved in your actual account.
   
6. You can unlock the Steam achievements already published, but the new ones that will be released will not be available. However, once the Beta version is released, you will receive all achievements you have already earned.
   
7. You may upload or stream Beta content if you wish. However, please add a disclaimer to your videos/streams to announce that it is the Beta you are playing, not the public version of the game.
   
8. IMPORTANT: To avoid any loss of your progress please follow the next steps:
   a. Create a backup of your saving files just in case. There should be no issues but just to be safe please do. You may find them here:
   i. windows: %USERPROFILE%/AppData/LocalLow/Noxfall Studios/Nordic Ashes/Backup
   ii. macOS: ~/Library/Application Support/com.NoxfallStudios.NordicAshes/Backup
   iii. linux: ~/.config/unity3d/Noxfall Studios/Nordic Ashes/Backup
   b. After playing the Beta, if you wish to return to the main version of the game and deactivate the Beta, please notice that your Beta progress will be lost.

Hi! After reading your comments we've realized the new changes were to harsh so here's a hotfix:

• The Fury mechanic has been removed for now. It's a very big change and we will add it again next week on the Beta so we can all try it and discuss it.
  
• Greed and Talkôr's Orbs will keep scaling once again.
  
• Some Chinese characters were missing. Also, we’ve completed the translation so far.

Greetings survivors! Many cool updates: Alfheim Ragnarok in da house, a new way to earn leaves, Talkôr rework and bestiary available!

[h2]Alfheim Ragnarok[/h2]
You will be able to face Ragnarok levels in Alfheim! Bosses and elites now have new abilities too! Who will make it to the top 10???


[h2]Talkôr[/h2]
Edit: Some changes have been reversed and updated in this post.

We have adjusted several things:

• The infinite gold bag time has been increased from 2 to 2.5.
  
• The chance that enemies affected by the gold status will give a gold coin when dying has been reduced from 25% to 10%.
  

[h2]Boss Rage[/h2]
Edit: The Fury mechanic has been removed in the v0.8.4.1. It's a very big change and we will add it again next week on the Beta so we can all try it and discuss it.

Bosses will now have to be defeated in a certain amount of time. This time is set according to the difficulty (don't worry, there is enough time for you to defeat them).
If the boss is not defeated in time, it will enter Rage mode and the next hit you receive will be lethal (you’ll still be able to fight and defeat it in this mode, it’s not an automatic one-shot bye bye).
You can see the time left above the life bar.



[h2]ːNA_Leafː Yggdrasil Leaves ːNA_Leafː[/h2]
We want to make it easier to earn leaves, especially for new players who have many to unlock.
Therefore, we have done the following:

• Enemies will now grant leaves when defeated a number of times, whether they are common enemies or Elites.
  
• The base seed drop probability has been increased.
  
• Earned leaves are now displayed on the end game panel.
  

[h2]Bestiary[/h2]
The Bestiary is now available on the Glossary! In this section you will see all the enemies you have defeated. It will show how many times you have defeated an enemy and how many times it has defeated you.



[h2]Fixes and improvements:[/h2]

• The information on how to earn Yggdrasil leaves now shows how many leaves you have obtained by defeating common and elite enemies.
  
• Fixed a bug that caused certain boss animations to freeze when affected by status effects.
  
• Fixed text bugs.
  
• Reducing the alpha of the visual effects now applies correctly to Helga's relics.
  
• Improved performance with poison visual effects that could generate a lot of lag.
  
• Performance improved on the Repulsion Charm artifact.
