New Realm Vanaheim + Raid Shrines & More!

Hello everyone!
Today is the day! New realm, new enemies, new achievements, and original soundtrack announcement among others!

[h2]Vanaheim[/h2]
Vanaheim is the land of the Vanir gods. Here you will find many elemental creatures that will try their best to defend their kingdom. Will you be able to defeat them?

[h3]Raid Shrine[/h3]
Once you have conquered Vanaheim, a new kind of shrine will appear! This Shrine will teleport a horde of enemies from another realm, giving you the opportunity to defeat, let’s see… the Skavenger King on Jotunheim for example???

[h2]Game Modes[/h2]
Three exciting news:
First of all, we know many of you are waiting for the Endless Mode release. We are making many improvements so hopefully it will be ready in a few weeks. We will open a Beta branch for those that wish to test it before anyone else. More details soon.

Secondly, we are currently developing a new game mode, the Challenge Mode, where you’ll find a daily challenge. It will be available on the Beta branch too.

That being said, this Challenge Mode will allow us to introduce some new handicaps to the Adventure mode such as being able to play runs deactivating Yggdrasil, not visiting Gnöki’s realm, etc. in case you want to customize your runs and make them more challenging.

[h2]Nordic Ashes Original Soundtrack[/h2]
We have teamed up with Rubén Melià to create our own soundtrack!

The first track available is Nordic Ashes Main Theme. It is the music that plays on the main menu. We really hope you love it as much as we do, and we invite you to listen to the full track!

Rubén is already working on the Midgard track. We will release new music in future updates.

[h2]Credits[/h2]
We are adding new credits on the settings panel to thank the wonderful content creators that have supported us, thank you thank you!

[h3]New relic [/h3]
We also wanted to release this new legendary relic, the Beam Pyramid, a true enemy destroyer!

[h2]Upcoming Realms[/h2]
Upcoming realms will be released as follows: Helheim, realm of the dead. Niflheim, realm of ice and mist. Muspelheim, realm of fire. Asgard, kingdom of the Æsir gods, in that order.

[h3]Steam cards and emojis[/h3]
A few months ago, we released trading cards, emojis and backgrounds for Nordic Ashes, so this is just a friendly reminder that you already have them available to collect!

[h3]Improvements[/h3]

Elites now display a health bar.
You may now change the bloom intensity in the settings panel.
Pause panel info display has been reworked. You may also use keyboard or controller to see all the different parameters.
You may now earn 100 more leaves in exchange for seeds.
The maximum cost of the leave-seed exchange has been set to 500. (Extra seeds you had spent will be refunded)

[h3]Fixes[/h3]

Elite icons stayed in the minimap after defeating them.
Bosses in berserker mode didn’t turn red.
Snow flake relic didn’t deactivate after selling it to Olga.

Welcome once again to Nordic Ashes Beta! First of all, thanks again for your support and welcome to all the new players!

Let’s get ready for Vanaheim Beta, a realm packed with elemental creatures and ruled by mighty gods!

We will be updating the beta with a few more features during these days and reading all your feedback so we have a nice and polished new realm for next Thursday’s official release!

You may find all the info about how to join the beta here: PLEASE READ ALL THE INFO

Remember you don’t have to join the beta if you prefer to wait till next week and play the finished content 😉

[h3]Some fixes and improvements[/h3]

Enemy immunities shown in the glossary.
Immunity Destroyer is now legendary.
Improved the performance of enemy attacks that could cause lag.

[h2]How to access the Beta?[/h2]
REMEMBER: To play the beta, you will need to have purchased Nordic Ashes previously.

Open the Steam application.
Go to the Steam library and select Nordic Ashes.
Right click on it and select Properties.
A panel will open, select the Beta option.
Enter the following code: NordicAshesBeta
Click the button to verify that it is correct.
If everything is OK, you will have the Beta option in the drop-down menu. Select it and the game will be updated.

First of all, we’d like to share the following disclaimer (don’t forget to read #9)

Keep in mind that this is a Beta and therefore it may contain bugs and balancing issues.
The purpose of the Beta is that you have access to an early version of the game, so you can help us to fix bugs, balance the game and give suggestions.
The Betas last for a certain period of time. We will release them as new updates are released. This particular one will be open for 1 week.
There is a specific discussion for beta feedback in Steam.
The Beta progress will be saved in your actual account.
You can unlock the Steam achievements already published, but the new ones that will be released will not be available. However, once the Beta version is released, you will receive all achievements you have already earned.
You may upload or stream Beta content if you wish. However, please add a disclaimer to your videos/streams to announce that it is the Beta you are playing, not the public version of the game.
IMPORTANT: To avoid any loss of your progress please follow the next steps:
a. Create a backup of your saving files just in case. There should be no issues but just to be safe please do. You may find them here:
i. windows: %USERPROFILE%/AppData/LocalLow/Noxfall Studios/Nordic Ashes/Backup
ii. macOS: ~/Library/Application Support/com.NoxfallStudios.NordicAshes/Backup
iii. linux: ~/.config/unity3d/Noxfall Studios/Nordic Ashes/Backup
b. After playing the Beta, if you wish to return to the main version of the game and deactivate the Beta, please notice that your Beta progress will be lost.

Update v0.9.6.1

Hello!
Here’s a hotfix regarding your latest feedback:

The Share Pain ability on Ragnarok mode made the game crash in some cases.
There was a mini bug that didn’t unlock the new relics when reaching 250 damage, cooldown or area in some cases.
Performance optimization for relics you got from shrines or the shop. If you had many many relics on the same run, each time you got another one, it could make the game lag a bit.
Olga’s Blessing texts were not appearing properly in some languages.
Relics from last patch were bugged when selling them to Olga, as the stats didn’t return to the starting point.
Fixed some spelling mistakes.

Update v0.9.6

Today we bring you an update that acts as a bridge to next week's Beta release of the new realm, Vanaheim. Apart from fixes and some adjustments, 4 new legendary relics have been added!

[h2]New content![/h2]

We have added 4 new relics to unlock that will grant you great power.
In addition, the Yggdrasil Expedition branch has been expanded with two new upgrades suggested by you.
You can now see the damage done by Passive Relics in the constellation.
Also, in the End Game Panel you can now see information about Passive Relics by hovering over them. We will make it accessible with the gamepad in future updates.

[h3]Fixes and adjustments[/h3]

The collision edges of some of Ymir's attacks have been adjusted.
Mama Bat's dash has been adjusted to make it easier to dodge.
Armor power has been reduced from 30% to 15%. Being a common ability, it was having too much impact on high Ragnarok levels. We will keep an eye for further adjustments.
Shared Pain sometimes didn't work correctly causing less damage than it should when applied to bosses and elites with this ability.
In the End Panel, Passive Relic icons overlapped with other elements when there were many of them. The size is now adjusted so that this does not happen.
Fixed a bug that allowed you to press upgrade and reroll at the same time in the constellation.
Fixed an issue that was making some sounds to crack.

In today’s mini patch we wanted to fix a few bugs and add 2 QoL features!

Olga’s Blessing tutorial added.
You may disable the "Autopause in Background" in the settings panel / utilities so it keeps running.

[h3]Bug fixes[/h3]

Mama bat’s behaviour was not working properly when paralized.
Enemy abilities and damage dealt got on top of the wave bar on boss fights.
Translation errors.
There was a bug that sometimes crashed the game, hopefully it is solved by now. Please let us know!
& other minor bug fixes.
