1.0.0 Minor changes

Hello!

Thanks for your amazing support since launch! We just fixed a few issues that you reported and made a few changes:

KAOS minor fixes.
Requirements for Golden skins will now be 3 Gnöki badges instead of 5. If you already payed 5 badges, 2 will be returned.
Relic Exchanger was not showing correct energy values for relics in some cases.
Rankings were not working properly in some cases and now showing some player’s time.

Nordic Ashes 1.0 Launch

Hello Vikings!
We’re delighted to present Nordic Ashes 1.0!!
First of all, thanks so much for supporting us week after week since 2022!

Let's dive into the new features:

New Features

[h2]Character Masteries[/h2]
As if Yggdrasil upgrades weren’t enough, let’s welcome Character Masteries!
You will earn xp each time you play with a character. This xp will be then exchanged for level points to upgrade that character. There will be 10 levels available to complete with each survivor.

If you’ve already played some runs with a character, you will be granted with xp points once you launch the game.

[h2]Ragnarok X and extended Nightmare Mode[/h2]
Ragnarok X will be the hardest and craziest challenge you will face on this 1.0 version! Let the madness begin!
In addition, you'll now be able to play Nightmare mode extended to 12 waves!

[h2]Secret character: KAOS[/h2]
And because it’s a secret, we won’t reveal anything. Will you be able to unlock it?

[h2]Character Dash[/h2]
This has been highly requested and we also felt it would suit characters very well and not just Hansi (his dash will still be more powerful than the regular ones).
Every character will have 1 dash charge available from the start. A second one can be unlocked in Yggdrasil.

[h2]2 new character skins[/h2]
Because we realized that after the addition of golden skins, Alruna and M.I.S.S.I.N.G. were lacking 1 skin, as all the other characters already had 4!
So here they are, an all white one and an all black one. We believe they suit them really well and hope you enjoy them too!

[h2]Golden Attire [/h2]
Those golden badges from Daily Challenges finally have a purpose! You will be able to exchange them for Golden Skins. Every character will have their own. They will be available on the Daily Challenge panel.

[h2]Keybinding [/h2]
You will be able to reassign keys on PC, Xbox controller and PlayStation controller.

[h2]Save slots[/h2]
We’ve implemented a system where you can save, load or delete your game progress. This doesn’t mean you will be able to save in the middle of a run. This system is created in order to handle game data and backups.

[h2]Character wallpapers[/h2]
We wanted you to have high resolution wallpapers of every character! You may download them from this drive link so you can keep them :D

New DLC releases

[h2]Digital Artbook DLC - Now available[/h2]
At the beginning of the development this was a vague idea, but it kept turning more and more plausible each month. We thought maybe a 20-30 page artbook would be a nice thing to work on, but wow, it finally became a beautiful 100+ page artbook!
For now, you will be able to purchase it as a digital DLC, but if enough of us are willing to upgrade that version, we should create a hardcover version, right? Let us know what you think about it!

[h2]Soundtrack DLC - Coming soon[/h2]
Rubén Melià created this absolute masterpiece of original soundtrack for Nordic Ashes.
He worked really hard for a whole year, so you can experience 21 amazing tracks whenever you wish!
The soundtrack will be available as a Nordic Ashes DLC in a few days, so stay tuned!

[h2]Gnöki plush[/h2]
We got some news from Makeship! Gnöki campaign will be ready in a few weeks!!
You can subscribe though this link for future updates or stay tuned here on Steam as we will post about it when it’s ready.
Gnöki holding his ascension crystal will be ready to launch in no time… and we are really hyped about it! Here’s a sneak peek of how its looking and we already LOVE it!

Improvements

Axeldör's sword and axes rework.
Alruna’s thunder visual rework.
Hafgrim’s ultimate rework.
Amaranth’s flower visual rework.
Mead relic visual rework.
Wave 1 is now shorter.
Glossary items now show their rarity.
“Soul Heart” and “Emerald Heart” have been reworded to Blue and Green so it’s not confusing.
New Steam achievements.
Xbox and Playstation controller icons added.
Relic Exchanger now keeps relics from last run available.
New relics related to dashes.
Tutorials now include videos.

Fixes

Talkôr’s bug that made him die even with gold is now fixed.
In Asgard realm, if you didn’t defeat a raid shrine boss before before entering wave 5, it would follow you to the next wave instead of vanishing. This is now fixed.
If you attracted potions but some of them weren’t used because you already had full health, they would deactivate and stayed useless even if you lost health and tried to get them.
Lights Curse bug. If you died and revived just before entering Gnöki’s realm while having the Lights Curse activated on that run, light beams were still on in the shop.
Some relics were hitting enemies twice in some cases, like Amaranth’s Chilli.

Future steps

Nordic Ashes journey will not end today. We already have new content planned for the future, so don't worry, we're not going anywhere. Let's keep in touch! For now, let's enjoy 1.0 release! ːNA_Crystalː

Road to 1.0 - Devlog 04

Hello vikings!

Today’s the last devlog before 1.0 next week!!
We are still making a few changes and adding some content so everything turns OP for 1.0.
Some of the things we’ve been working on are the following:

Nightmare mode extended to 12 waves!
A few new relics were added
Axeldör had a few of his relics enhanced
Hafgrim’s ultimate ability has been reworked
New achievements added
New character name revealed... KAOS!

We’ll see you next Friday, April 26th!! Get ready for a large 1.0 update plus two matching DLCs: a beautiful Artbook and an epic Soundtrack!

Road to 1.0 - Devlog 03

Hello vikings!!

Welcome to devlog 03!
Here are the features we’re currently working on and that will be available on the 1.0 launch day, April 26th.

[h2]Keybinding finished[/h2]
You will be able to select different keys on PC, Xbox controller and PlayStation controller.

[h2]Ragnarok X[/h2]
We've tried our best, we created Ragnarok I-V and you still wanted a bigger challenge. Then we decided to create Ragnarok VI-VII feeling it would push your skills to the limit (which hopefully did), but some of you still beat that and asked for an even higher difficulty level!
Ok, this will be our last chance to create the hardest and craziest challenge, so welcome Ragnarok X!

[h2]Secret who?[/h2]
There's a secret survivor willing to join ranks, he's kind of chaotic and really fun to play.
You will have to solve a riddle to get it! We took a picture but it only shows a shadow. We'll try to get a better shot next time!

[h2]2 new character skins[/h2]

We've reworked the tutorials available and created a few new ones. That way it will be easier to underestand all the mechanics the game can provide.
We've also added a few pages of useful information such as the different kinds of hearts and their description.

[h2]Remaining character wallpapers![/h2]
Here's a preview. We will add them in big resolution on the launch day so you can grab them and keep them as wallpapers ːNA_Gnokiː

Hello vikings!!

Welcome to devlog 02!
Here are the features we’re currently working on and that will be available on the 1.0 launch day, April 26th.

[h2]Character masteries [/h2]
We are happy to share that we finished all the character masteries.
M.I.S.S.I.N.G.’s are really fun, as he will copy random masteries of other characters.

[h2]Key binding[/h2]
We decided to wait until we developed every mechanic to add this feature, so now it’s time we can all customize keys :D

[h2]Artbook [/h2]
Nordic Ashes Artbook is going really well too. It will include different sections, such as enemies and background, characters and their skins, relics… everything you see in the game will be captured in the artbook! And of course, a ton of sketches!

On another note, Gnöki plush prototype is already on the making, so we should have pictures in a few weeks!

On the following weeks we will be adding new achievements, new relics and… Gnöki told us he heard about a mysterious survivor wanting to join ranks… we’ll need to investigate more about that………………………..
