Islands of Insight | Patch Notes - Version 1.1.0b

Hello Seekers,

Today we released an update with new content and technical improvements! Read below for details:
New Content
Added The Archipelago of Curiosities—a large bonus endgame Enclave featuring some unusual and creative twists on your favourite puzzles. The entrance is off to the side of the Haven of Insight along the path toward Serene Deluge.

Added new grid rules and a new grid symbol. Awaken them by completing Bent Into Shape and Nearsighted—two new challenges in Autumn Falls and Serene Deluge respectively. New puzzles using each rule will spawn daily in the areas surrounding those challenges.

Added Two for One, Cross the Streams, Found the Difference, The Puzzle Cube, and See Serpents—five new themed logic grid challenges spread across the map.

Added Ground Away—a tricky group of Pillars of Insight in Serene Deluge.

Added a fresh pack of high-difficulty logic grids along the path between the Haven of Insight and the entrance to Shattered Library. There are now 5 spawn locations for these difficult puzzles instead of 3.

Added a new set of Black Iris wings for all players! Please note, these will be automatically added to your inventory!

Finally, a somewhat unusual area has appeared beneath the Haven of Insight.

Explore Islands of Insight | Part V: Serene Deluge

Seekers, welcome to Part V of Explore Islands of Insight – the last of a 5-part series where we have explored each biome of the game.

The story of the land is that it was created by the Auroral from the memories of another world – our world, planet Earth. It allowed us to take inspiration from lots of different areas on the planet to create new and unique zones that do not normally exist.

Today, we’ll be wrapping up this series by talking about Serene Deluge – let’s dive in!

The first thing you’ll notice about this truly unique biome is its distinct shapes. The pillar-like cliffs of Serene Deluge were based on the very-real Zhangjiajie Mountains in China. We’ve scattered rifts throughout the terrain to give you every opportunity to soar and explore every inch of this vertical landscape.

Like every other biome, we’ve fused a different timeless building style into the world. In Serene Deluge, the inspiration comes from the Khmer architecture of Cambodia, giving you a variety of rock-cut temples to explore.

This biome boasts three main Enclaves. Vaulted Heights introduced a new logic grid rule – Viewpoint Arrows*. The whole Enclave is based on the theme of seeing things from all angles, and includes Hidden Rings, Skydrops, and Hidden Relics.

*unless you already found them in the bonus Enclave in Autumn Falls 😉)

Limber Cascades introduces a whole new puzzle type – Shifting Mosaics. With this sliding tile puzzle, getting from Point A to Point B may not be as easy as it first appears.

And Leaves in the Wind, will give you the chance to really test your wings with Glide Ring challenges, as well as some of the most clever Pattern Match puzzles the game has to offer.

Explore even further to find more challenging Enclaves, testing what you’ve learned about Viewpoint Arrows and Shifting Mosaics.

Thank you so much for reading along and learning about the various biomes in Islands of Insight. If you’ve missed previous editions, go back and learn about Verdant Glen, Lucent Waters, Autumn Falls, and Shady Wildwood.

Which biome is your favorite? Let us know in the comments.

Until next time,

See you on the Islands!

Explore Islands of Insight | Part IV: Shady Wildwood

Seekers, welcome to Part IV of Explore Islands of Insight – a 5-part series where we will explore each biome of the game.

The story of the land is that it was created by the Auroral from the memories of another world – our world, planet Earth. It allowed us to take inspiration from lots of different areas on the planet to create new and unique zones that do not normally exist.

Today we will talk about Shady Wildwood – let’s dive in!

Like every other biome, Shady Wildwood pulls ancient architecture – in this case Dravidian temples from India - into an unexpected landscape – the redwood forests of California.

Shady Wildwood, like the rest of Islands of Insight, offers plenty of sublime locations and experiences to breathe in and discover. Explore the expansive open world and climb to some of the highest points in the game on the tops of Dravidian Temples, overlooking the rest of whole of this beautiful world. Try to wrap your brain around Reflections in the Sky – a mind-bending inverted island filled with themed puzzles.

One aspect that makes this biome unique is that it contains a handful of objectives focused on timing. The Cloud of Pearls Enclave will invite you into a temple filled with Skydrops, challenging you to solve them all within a time limit. Scurry Hurry is a testament to Movement puzzles, hiding a series of Flow Orbs inside the confines of a multi-story Crystal Labyrinth. Shady Wildwood also sees the return of the Match 3 Speed Challenge, which will test your Match 3 skills and your memory at the same time.

Discover a new logic grid rule in A Solitary Island. And make friends with the truly mysterious Shy Auras – a new puzzle type that is unlike anything in the game so far.

Play Islands of Insight now to solve and discover everything that Shady Wildwood has to offer. And stay tuned for Part 5, where we’ll wrap up our time Exploring Islands of Insight in the Serene Deluge.
