Explore Islands of Insight | Part V: Serene Deluge

Seekers, welcome to Part V of Explore Islands of Insight – the last of a 5-part series where we have explored each biome of the game.

The story of the land is that it was created by the Auroral from the memories of another world – our world, planet Earth. It allowed us to take inspiration from lots of different areas on the planet to create new and unique zones that do not normally exist.

Today, we’ll be wrapping up this series by talking about Serene Deluge – let’s dive in!

The first thing you’ll notice about this truly unique biome is its distinct shapes. The pillar-like cliffs of Serene Deluge were based on the very-real Zhangjiajie Mountains in China. We’ve scattered rifts throughout the terrain to give you every opportunity to soar and explore every inch of this vertical landscape.

Like every other biome, we’ve fused a different timeless building style into the world. In Serene Deluge, the inspiration comes from the Khmer architecture of Cambodia, giving you a variety of rock-cut temples to explore.

This biome boasts three main Enclaves. Vaulted Heights introduced a new logic grid rule – Viewpoint Arrows*. The whole Enclave is based on the theme of seeing things from all angles, and includes Hidden Rings, Skydrops, and Hidden Relics.

*unless you already found them in the bonus Enclave in Autumn Falls 😉)

Limber Cascades introduces a whole new puzzle type – Shifting Mosaics. With this sliding tile puzzle, getting from Point A to Point B may not be as easy as it first appears.

And Leaves in the Wind, will give you the chance to really test your wings with Glide Ring challenges, as well as some of the most clever Pattern Match puzzles the game has to offer.

Explore even further to find more challenging Enclaves, testing what you’ve learned about Viewpoint Arrows and Shifting Mosaics.

Thank you so much for reading along and learning about the various biomes in Islands of Insight. If you’ve missed previous editions, go back and learn about Verdant Glen, Lucent Waters, Autumn Falls, and Shady Wildwood.

Which biome is your favorite? Let us know in the comments.

Until next time,

See you on the Islands!

Explore Islands of Insight | Part III: Autumn Falls

Seekers, welcome to Part III of Explore Islands of Insight - a 5-part series where we will explore each biome of the game.

The story of the land is that it was created by the Auroral from the memories of another world - our world (planet Earth). It allowed us to take inspiration from lots of different areas on the planet to create new and unique zones that do not normally exist.

Today we will talk about Autumn Falls – let's dive in!

This rustic, yet jaw-dropping environment finds balance in its contrasts, like its tiny island in the middle of a massive open-air crater. The idea for combining the rugged Canadian Niagara Escarpment and China’s stunning hanging temples came from wanting to celebrate some of our team members being from these parts of the world.

While exploring these magnificent riverlands, you can expect to encounter Phasic Dials for the first time. These new puzzles will challenge your observation and strategic thinking as you turn each dial to its satisfying final location.

The Enclaves in Autumn Falls are among the most unique in the game. Dyads in the Mist is a test of perception that will force you to expand your horizons to find all the puzzles, let alone solve them. The Cliff and the Void was lovingly constructed as an homage ying-yang puzzles, beloved by the puzzle community. And The Phase and the Melody will not only introduce Phasic Dials, but also offer the game’s first deep dive into Music Grids.

And for those paying close attention, there is even a bonus island, on which new symbols are introduced to Logic Grids!

Beyond the Enclaves, there are quests to discover, like a sequence of Underclued Logic Grids, a Pillar of Insight, a Quest for Perfection, and the Riverland Bridge, which will test your eyes and ears as a dense but tricky search for Hidden Cubes.

Play Islands of Insight now to solve and discover everything that Autumn Falls has to offer. And stay tuned for Part 4, where we’ll continue to Explore Islands of Insight in the Shady Wildwood.
