Our Sincere Apologies for the TikTok Advertising Issue
Greetings, Descendants.
[p] [/p][p]We would like to sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and disappointment caused by the recent issue regarding the TikTok Creative Challenge.[/p][p] [/p][p]The TikTok Creative Challenge is a program where TikTok creators voluntarily produce and submit content that may be used as advertisements.[/p][p] [/p][p]After confirming with TikTok, we learned that no system currently exists to verify potential copyright infringement, and TikTok is now conducting further investigations to identify any additional cases.[/p][p]One confirmed case involved unauthorized use of DanieltheDemon’s content by another creator. TikTok identified this as a violation of its guidelines and has already blocked the creator’s account.[/p][p] [/p][p]We would also like to clarify that we do not upload creator advertisement videos as regular posts on The First Descendant’s official TikTok account. Creator advertisement videos are displayed when users access The First Descendant’s official account through advertisements.[/p][p]In contrast, if the official account is directly searched and visited, these creator advertisement videos are not displayed. This feature was newly implemented by TikTok on August 15 (Friday), and therefore these videos may have appeared as if they were posted and then deleted, but that is not the case.[/p][p] [/p][p]We are taking the TikTok advertisement issue very seriously, recognizing that we failed to uphold the authenticity of our marketing content and to respect the efforts of our creators and community.[/p][p] [/p][p]As a result, we will strengthen our advertising and marketing review processes, including additional review steps with our development team, to ensure that such issues do not recur. We are committed to thoroughly improving our review practices.[/p][p] [/p][p]We will also be committed to continuously being more transparent and responsible to regain the trust of our community and creators.[/p][p]Once again, we deeply apologize for the disappointment and inconvenience this incident has caused.[/p][p] [/p][p]Thank you for your understanding.[/p]

Nexon respond to claims they're using AI-generated Tiktok streamers to advertise The First Descendant

South Korean publishers Nexon are investigating a recent bit of TikTok marketing for their free-to-play shooter The First Descendant, after players spotted some ads that feature AI-generated 'human' streamers bigging up the game. Well, we at least have to assume it's following that, as Nexon's statement omits mentioning AI in favour of the wonderfully nebulous phrase "certain irregularities".

If you've not seen one of these ads that look to have been posted by The First Descendant's official account, allow me to show you, because you'll see right quick why folks have been asking questions. Boom. There are further booms compiled into one Reddit post by user iHardlyTriHard down below.

Notice Regarding TikTok Creative Challenge Review
Greetings, Descendants.
[p]
We would like to inform you of certain irregularities identified in the operation of our TikTok Creative Challenge for creators. [/p][p]  [/p][p]As a part of our marketing campaign for Season 3: Breakthrough, we recently ran a Creative Challenge program for TikTok creators, which allows creators to voluntarily submit their content to be used as advertising materials. [/p][p]  [/p][p]All submitted videos are verified through TikTok’s system to check copyright violations before they are approved as advertising content. [/p][p]  [/p][p]However, we have become aware of cases where the circumstances surrounding the production of certain submitted videos appear inappropriate. Thus, we are conducting a thorough joint investigation with TikTok to determine the facts. [/p][p]  [/p][p]We sincerely apologize for the delay in providing this notice as the review is taking longer than expected. Once the verification is complete, we will promptly share an update through an official notice. [/p][p]  [/p][p]Thank you for your patience and understanding. [/p]
