Steam Beta Guide (3)_World Missions & Void Intercept Battles

Hello, Descendants!

In the third guide, we will introduce “World Missions” and “Void Intercept Battles (Raids),” which offer
a large amount of EXP, quality equipment, and necessary materials to research Descendants.

※ Please note that the guide is in line with the Steam Beta Test, and that some of the contents may be modified in the official service.

[World Missions & Void Intercept Battles Guide]
1. What Are World Missions?
2. World Mission_Consecutive Survival
3. What Are Void Intercept Battles?
4. How to Participate in Void Intercept Battles
1. What Are World Missions?
In World Missions, you complete a mission in a designated field as a party.
You can obtain a large amount of EXP, equipment, and Descendant research (craft) materials.

After completing World Missions (Consecutive Survival) and Consecutive Defense missions,
you can occasionally obtain Amorphous Materials which contain Descendant research materials, Crystallization Catalyst Kit, Energy Activator, and advanced Runes.
To use Amorphous Materials, you need to own the item and defeat the linked Colossus in the Void Intercept Battle (Raid).
Upon winning the battle, you can select one of the Amorphous Material Components.

TIP) How to Use Amorphous Materials
First, Amorphous Materials can be obtained occasionally from World Missions (Consecutive Survival) and Consecutive Defense missions.
Check the number of the obtained Amorphous Materials, and defeat the matching Colossus in the Void Intercept Battle (Raid).

After defeating the Colossus, you can select one of the Amorphous Material Components.
Obtained items will be available in your Inventory.

You can accept your first World Mission after completing all the main quests in Kingston.
Likewise, you can accept World Missions in other regions after completing all the main quests in that area.
You can join the mission immediately after match-making, without using any resources.

During the test period, you can only participate in Consecutive Survival missions. More World Missions will be available in the future.
2. World Mission_Consecutive Survival
To start World Missions, go to “World Mission Terminal” in Albion, and select a mission in one of the regions.

When you accept a mission, you will be matched to a party, and then relocated to the mission field where you’ll meet 10 consecutive waves.
In each wave, you have to find the descending Exploration Fleet, and defeat monsters for 3 minutes to defend the fleet.

Mana Saturation increases constantly during the mission; when it reaches 100%, Descendant’s HP will decrease constantly, so you need to keep an eye on the rate.
To reduce Mana Saturation, use Neutralizer Filter obtained from monsters.

Monsters will be spawned randomly, from general monsters to elite monsters. If several elite monsters appear, you may be at risk of dying.
The death count (number of times party members are allowed to die) for the World Mission is 12. If the party’s death count exceeds the limit, it will mean failure of the mission.
But rescuing another party member within the rescue time will not count as a death.
3. What Are Void Intercept Battles?
Void Intercept Battle is a raid where you enter a special area to defeat a Colossus (boss) as a party.
By defeating the Colossus, you can obtain a large amount of equipment and advanced Runes.

If you own an Amorphous Material, you can select one of the Amorphous Material Components as a reward
after completing Void Intercept Battle.
You can select the component in the result screen after defeating the Colossus, which will then be sent to your Inventory.

Void Intercept Battles have two difficulty levels, normal and hard, and each Colossus has different participation requirements.

TIP) You can take part in your first Void Intercept Battle after completing the last main quest in Kingston!
Complete Kingston’s last main quest (8. Shelter of Light) and participate in Void Intercept Battle.
4. How to Participate in Void Intercept Battles
There are two ways to participate in Void Intercept Battles: First, talk to NPC “Seneca” in Albion and select a boss;
second, open World Map (G) and select a boss.

When you start a Void Intercept Battle, you will join match-making, and then your party will be relocated to a special area in which the Colossus dwells.
Void Intercept Battles have a time limit and the death count (number of times party members are allowed to die) is 3. The mission is a failure if the party’s death count exceeds 3, or if you fail to defeat the Colossus within the time limit.
But rescuing another party member within the rescue time will not count as a death.

TIP) Colossus Tip!
Pressing Tab will show the destructible part in blue. Concentrate fire on that part to turn it into yellow.
Then use converging fire or a grappling hook to destroy the part and put the boss in a groggy state.

TIP) Organize your Inventory before Void Intercept Battles!
Various rewards will be dropped upon completion, and they must be looted before the timer runs out, after which you will be returned to Albion.
You can no longer acquire items after returning to Albion.

TIP) Of course, you can exit right away!
If you’ve looted all items after Void Intercept Battle, press ESC, select from the menu to return to Albion immediately.

Thank you.

Steam Beta Guide (2)_Emotes

Hello, Descendants!

The second guide will cover “Emotes,” which enrich communication
with other Descendants.

※ Please note that the guide is in line with the Steam Beta Test, and that some of the contents may be modified in the official service.

[Emotes Guide]
1. What Are Emotes?
2. Emote Types and How to Use Them
1. What Are Emotes?
Emotes are a way to easily express emotions and actions so that you can communicate with other Descendants.
Some emotes allow you to interact with other Descendants, which will be one of many elements you can enjoy as you play the game.
2. Emote Types and How to Use Them
Emotes can be found in Inventory (I) → Go to Decoration (S) → Emote.
Click on an emote and the arrow key on the right to equip it on that slot. Then you can use arrow keys (→, ↑, ↓, ←) to play equipped emotes.

TIP) During the test period, you can obtain various emotes from in-game events!
Basic emotes include Greeting, Decline, and Gun Cleaning and you can use more emotes during the test period by participating in the event!

We hope you enjoy communicating with other Descendants using emotes during Steam Beta Test.
Thank you.

Steam Beta Guide (1)_Rune System

Hello, Descendants!

We’d like to provide you with the game guide prior to the Steam Beta Test
so that you can fully enjoy The First Descendant during the short test period.

The first guide will cover the “Rune” system, a major feature that can enhance the Descendants’ stats.

※ Please note that the guide is in line with the Steam Beta Test, and that some of the contents may be modified in the official service.

[Rune Guide]
1. What Are Runes?
2. Dismantling, Enhancing Runes
3. Combining Runes
4. Increasing Rune Slot and Capacity
5. Melee Attack Runes
1. What Are Runes?
Descendants and weapons can be equipped with Runes which enhance stats.
There are 5 types of Weapon Runes (Storm, Torrent, Tide, Thunder, Haze), and different Rune types affect different weapon types.
To see which Rune type affects your weapon, go to Inventory (I).

By clicking Rune type, you can see Rune slot and capacity info for each Rune type, as shown below;
affected weapon type and stats after equipping the Rune can be seen on the righthand side.

You can obtain Runes by completing quests or defeating monsters.
However, you cannot equip all the Runes you’ve obtained. As seen in the image above, Runes can only be equipped depending on the number of Descendant/Weapon Rune slots and capacity.

So far, you’ve learned the basics of the Rune system.
We’ll guide you through some of the major features of the Rune system so that you can use Runes efficiently during the Steam Beta Test!

TIP) Silion in Albion will be in charge of all Rune-related actions!
All Rune-related actions (enhancing, dismantling, combining, etc.) can be done by talking to NPC “Silion” in Albion. He’ll be happy to explain more about each feature.
2. Dismantling, Enhancing Runes
You need “Gold” and “Qulipothium” to enhance Runes. Qulipothium can be obtained by dismantling Runes.
Therefore, you can dismantle redundant or unnecessary Runes to gather Qulipothium, then enhance Runes you need.
Enhancing Runes is a guaranteed success; the higher the Rune level, the more Gold and Qulipothium you need.
Enhancing Runes makes them more powerful, but it also increases their capacity cost. Make sure to keep the capacity in mind.

TIP) When you dismantle Runes, sort Runes by quantity!
Sorting Runes by quantity will let you see redundant Runes first, which will come in handy when dismantling unnecessary Runes.

TIP) How to see Rune info

Show Runes equipped in other slots

Show Rune Enhancement Level

Socket and Rune Capacity info
3. Combining Runes
Combining Runes is a 100% guaranteed success, and it requires 4 Runes of whatever tier or type and some Gold.
The ingredient Runes’ tier, type, and socket type may have an influence on the result.
4. Increasing Rune Slot and Capacity
4-1. Increasing Rune Slots
You can increase the number of Rune slots by increasing your Mastery Rank.

TIP) Mastery Rank Up?
When a Descendant levels up, increases weapon proficiency, completes the first mission, or gets quest rewards, they can earn Mastery EXP.
When Mastery EXP reaches the maximum limit, increase your rank through “The Ageless Reach.”
Increasing Mastery Rank increases Weapon/Descendant Rune slot or capacity, and Inventory slots.

4-2. Increasing Rune Capacity
You can increase your Rune Capacity by increasing character level (Descendant Rune Capacity), Mastery Rank, or by granting Rune socket type, and using capacity-increasing items.

(1) Rune Socket Type?
Granting socket types on Rune slots and equipping matching Runes will decrease the Runes’ capacity cost.
On the other hand, equipping Runes that do not match the slot’s socket type will increase their capacity cost.

Each Descendant Rune has 1 socket type. To grant socket types in other slots, you need “Arche Crystal.”
You can obtain Arche Crystal by resetting Descendant Level.

TIP) Descendant Level Reset?
Resetting Descendant’s level from the maximum level of 40 will keep the skills you’ve learned, and provide you with “Arche Crystal,” which is needed to add Rune socket types.
Reset your Descendant’s level, add a Rune socket type, and equip more Runes to become even stronger.
Descendant Level Reset can be done from “The Ageless Reach.” You need a Descendant with the Level 40 and Crystallization Catalyst.

TIP) How to Obtain Crystallization Catalyst
You can obtain 1 Crystallization Catalyst by completing main quests in Red Desert.
Or obtain Crystallization Catalyst Kit from Amorphous Material (World Mission reward) → go to Albion → talk to NPC “Xenia” → craft Crystallization Catalyst through research quest

[Summary! How to apply Rune socket types]
Reach Descendant Level 40, craft Crystallization Catalyst via research quest → Reset Descendant Level from The Ageless Reach → Obtain Arche Crystal → Talk to NPC “Silion” and grant Rune socket type

(2) Capacity-Increasing Items?
“Energy Activator” is a capacity-increasing item that can increase Rune Capacity for each Descendant and weapon.
If you complete all the main quests in Kingston, you can obtain 2 Energy Activators from NPC Silion through Albion's main quest.
After that, you can obtain Energy Activators from Amorphous Materials by completing World Missions.

There is a limit to the use of capacity-increasing items. You can use the item 5 times for Weapon Runes of each type, and 3 times for Descendant Runes.
5. Melee Attack Runes
Equipping Melee Attack Runes enables various melee attacks depending on the type of Rune you equipped, and it boosts damage and attack range of melee attacks.
Each Descendant has 1 Melee Attack Rune Slot on his/her Descendant Rune, which is the only slot where Melee Attack Runes can be equipped.

Equipping Melee Attack Runes with Enhancement Level 1 or higher increases Max Rune Capacity.
The higher the Rune’s Enhancement Level is, the more capacity increases.

That will be all for the Rune Guide.
We hope you enjoy using Runes during Steam Beta Test.

Thank you.
