New strategy game is XCOM with superheroes, coming very soon

Marvel's Midnight Suns perfectly marries the excellence of the Firaxis XCOM games with superhero antics. The two games aren't exactly the same, with Midnight Suns opting for smaller playspaces and less of the dead soldiers, but it proved that strategy and superheroes are a great mix. This is something Capes wants to do too, as the upcoming superhero strategy game finally locks down a release date - one that's coming real soon.

Superhero strategy game Capes has a big new demo up

Capes is an upcoming tactical strategy game from Spitfire Interactive and Daedalic Entertainment. Due out in 2024, a new demo has been put up with expanded and improved mechanics to play through.

We’ve got exciting news for you today: A new demo and video series!

There is a new enhanced CAPES demo available on Steam. It includes 4 missions you can explore as well as a ton of new features and improvements:

Fast Forward - speed up gameplay during enemy turns
Quick Save - manually save during combat and reload during play
Difficulty - Choice of three difficulty settings
Improved cinematics including full English VO!
Improved UI
Improved ultimate attacks
Improved gamepad support
Numerous stability improvements, performance, and bugs fixed
Additional languages: Spanish, Latin American, German, French, Chinese, Simplified Chinese, Korean, Russian and Japanese

We have also released the first episode of a new CAPES video series for you! Each episode showcases a new hero and their unique abilities.

In our first episode, you can learn about our hero Facet who can grow razor sharp crystal shards to protect himself or others from enemy attacks.
