Demo Update 0.2.7 - New Hitsplats + Improvements

It's been an awesome week. We've got hit by a huge wave of new players trying out our demo and it's been so fun to watch y'all play for those who made videos or shared your experience with us on the Discord server ❤️🤗

In today's patch we've addressed and changed a few things. One major change in this update is the damage numbers. We've completely reworked how this system works to make it 80% more performant and visually pleasing.

  • Credit drops have been rebalanced
  • Credit costs of items have been rebalanced
  • Mysterious, rarely-appearing Quadrupedal enemies removed. Shh! You saw nothing...
  • Improved spawn frequencies for waves to better balance HP worth of enemies spawned vs. XP dropped
  • Mini Splitters are now slightly bigger so that they're easier to hit
  • Outline glow has been removed from non-boss splitters
  • XP particles now colored according to the color of the XP orb they're emitted from
  • Greatly improved the performance of XP orbs
  • Player's Health on the HUD will now display 1 decimal if the player is below Max HP
  • Hitsplats have been reworked entirely. Unlimited Hitsplats, new font, better visuals, and 80% more performant! Let us know how this feels 🤗
  • Fancy Heart Charm has been slightly nerfed. It now lasts for 1 second per 5 damage taken instead of 1 second per 4 damage
  • Slight improvements to the Treant Boss. This is still Work in Progress and will be greatly improved!

  • Fixed an issue where Relativistic Loader, Terra Cannon Mount, and Berserker's Harness didn't get their Tier 2 passives
  • Fixed an issue where the Treant wouldn't have any projectiles
  • Fixed an issue where all XP orb particles would sometimes change color simultaneously when killing a strong enemy
  • Fixed an issue where the "More Info" button would appear on Minor Upgrades

Gun-building Vampire Survivors style roguelike gets free Steam demo

Vampire Survivors certainly isn't short on build combinations, but new roguelike survival game Nimrods: Guncraft Survivor hopes to outgun, in a quite literal fashion, even the likes of Enter the Gungeon and Borderlands. Boasting near-limitless gun-building potential with combinations that "run into the trillions," Nimrods is set to offer a Binding of Isaac level of weird and wonderful synergies. With a free demo out now ahead of Steam Next Fest, you can play a few rounds for yourself and get a feel for what it has to offer.

After an awesome week of bug reports and tons of feedback we've received from the Community who have participated in testing our new build, the build is now live on the main Demo!

Demo Beta Update - V0.2.2 + V0.2.3 Changelog

The last 5 days have been truly amazing! Tons of you have joined our Discord Server and participated in helping us test the new upcoming build. A LOT of the bugs and feedback you have reported has been fixed.

We meant it when we said that we're building this game together ❤️
Here is a list of all the improvements and fixes we have made this week:

Changes
  • Defeating the Treant boss will now complete the Mission
  • Character Vixen now holds 3 Molotov by default instead of 1
  • Adjustments made to Teslion and Pulse Rifle Projectile Speed
  • Balance changes to the Eye Monsters. They now become more dangerous as you progress
  • Enemy movement speed now grows faster as enemies tier up
  • Overall minor balance changes to Monsters
  • Minor improvements made to the Extraction screen
  • Updated 'Movement Recharge Rate' to 'Genetic Ability Recharge Rate' and its description

  • Based on feedback, we've adjusted the XP colors to now be more distinguishable from each other to improve visuals to see which XP orb to prioritize for pickup
  • Boss Drop pickup now has a new visual
  • Balance changes to Tanks. They should now be more threatening
  • Drone Level circle on the HUD has received a new visual
  • Back-end refactor for the Gun Upgrade Screen to improve performance and fix other bugs that were present
  • UI tweaks are made to the "Select a Weapon" screen

  • Fixed an issue where the game would misbehave when the game is paused right as the Boss Intro would appear
  • Fixed an issue with the Lightweight Grip where it would show incorrect stat changes
  • Fixed an issue with the Ripper Clips where it would show an incorrect stat
  • Fixed several issues with the Controller. This is still Work-In-Progress
