1.5 Anarchy Patch

With this patch, we want to say goodbye to the Beat Slayer year 2024 with a bang. In addition to a new upgrade type, we also have something new for the Beat Slayer veterans among you.
New Upgrade Type: "Tanzschock Upgrade"
Unleash rhythmic destruction with the all-new Tanzschock Upgrade! Trigger its powerful effects every time you reach 10 Beats on your Beat Meter and at every 20 Beat interval thereafter (10, 30, 50, 70...). Choose from the following versions:

  • Tanzschock Taser
Effect: Stuns all enemies for one tact.

  • Tanzschock Laser
Effect: Activates four laser beams for one tact.

  • Tanzschock Barrage
Effect: Fires a barrage of projectiles around you.

  • Tanzschock Repulsor
Effect: Knocks back all enemies around you.

  • Tanzschock Explosion
Effect: Deals damage in a large area around you.
New Game Mode: Anarchy
In the previous difficulty levels, you may have noticed that some enemies only appear in later acts. In Anarchy mode, we are throwing this rule overboard. The enemies are much stronger and Elite versions can now appear anywhere and at any time. In addition, some rhythm aids are deactivated, which makes every beat combo a real challenge.

1.4 Hazard Patch Notes - Beat Slayer

The Steam Rythm Festival is coming round the corner and what better way to celebrate than with a big patch for Beat Slayer :D In this patch we have prepared a few things for you to make Mia's journey through Berlin even more varied and to provide more "destruction".
New Hazard: Laser Walls
Some Levels in Act 3 now have Laser Barriers that turn on and off to the beat.
Getting caught in the beam will hurt you, but enemies take even more damage from it!
Destructibles
You can find destructible objects (like Crates and Vases) in most levels.
Destroying them has a chance of granting you some Currywurst and other Powerups!
Be Careful - many levels also have explosive barrels that, when destroyed, do massive damage to anything nearby!
Enemy Spawner Improvements
We tweaked the enemy spawning system, allowing enemies to use the whole level to determine where to spawn.
Enemy spawns are now less "clustered" and will often lead to situations where the player is in danger of being surrounded.
This also increases the enemy density in some levels in Acts 2 and 3.
Hammer Improvements
The Hammer's Basic Attack area of effect has been increased.
It's now easier to hit enemies, especially when they're close to you.
Donna Balancing
Donna had already adjusted her training a little in the last patch. In the interests of fairness, however, we would like to inform you about this as well.

To provide a more well-rounded power progression, we added additional levels for some of Donna's Upgrades:
Combat Style: +3 additional Levels
Tanzrausch Effect: +3 additional Levels
Energy Gain upgrades: +3 additional Levels

Now it's the best time to check out Beat Slayer. Let us know what you think and write us here on Steam, Discord or Twitter/X!

Until then, stay tuned!
