CRT7 Demo Date Announced

Hi all, Tom here!

I've been teasing this for a while, but I'm delighted to say that I can finally announce a date for the upcoming CRT7 Demo! The demo will be launching 3rd of August!

What's more, I've made a special trailer to celebrate the announcement. I really hope you like it:

Solve puzzles / Explore the dark / Fix the future.

The demo is somewhere between 1 and 3 hours long (depending how good you are at puzzles), and should give you a good idea of what to expect from the full game. A dark basement, mysterious puzzles, and a splintered narrative about obsession, power, and regret. It will also have an embedded guidance/hint system and accessibility options too.

Oh, and you better believe I hid some fun weirdness in there too...

I can't wait to see people playing it! Please bear in mind that this is a one-person solo project so bugs are always likely although I'm doing my best to squash them as we speak. But, as always, please do share the news, tell your friends, and wishlist the game - it's such a huge help!

CRT7 Goes Back to College

Hi all, Tom here!

This week has been quite exciting, as after a few months of work I finally had a new version of CRT7 that could be shown at ECGx - a local games expo for graduating students, and local indie devs! This expo is special to me as it was also the place SOLAS 128 was first shown to the public!

We had two instances of the game running at once, so people could see different parts of the experience. Of course, it's always a little strange demoing slow, thoughtful, experience-based games at a busy expo, but the game went down well, and people seemed to enjoy exploring the darkness!

The changes I'd been working on since the first prototype seemed well received and definitely improved peoples' flow through the game โ€“ but I have more small tweaks to get on with after watching new people play!

As always, keep an eye out for news - and do drop a wishlist if you want to be notified of upcoming news. I hope to have something very exciting for you soon.

Steam Page Refresh

Hi all, Tom here!

You might have noticed I've completed a sneaky refresh of the Steam Page, screenshots, and key art this week. GIFs have arrived! This is to ensure the game's Steam presence better reflect how the current prototype of CRT7 is looking. Lots of work has been done since I first made this Steam page, after all! Plus, I obviously can't resist pentominoes...

But I hear you asking, just how is CRT7 looking? Well, long story short I'm currently using feedback from early testers to improve the game flow, especially early on. Excitingly, however, this means I can include all new musical puzzles for you to interact with, a new weird mechanic I'm very excited about, and generally just MORE STUFF which makes MORE SENSE*.

I hope to have very exciting news for you all soon about events CRT7 will be involved in later this year, so do give us a wishlist if you want to keep up to date ๐Ÿ’›

Ohh! I also made this image which is rubbish for selling the game, but I think looks awesome. So, if you want to use it as a desktop background, go for it:

Please do share around the links too with people who might be interested! It makes a huge difference for games like this to have more people wishlist us at this stage!

CRT7 - Procedurally Generated Music Video

Hey all, Tom here!

I just wanted to post a quick update here to confirm that I am still working on CRT7! Things have been a bit... hectic over the last couple of months, but progress is still being made, albeit slowly.

Still, I thought it was time to share an early video of how one part of the gameplay will look and sound. In particular, some of the procedurally generated music! Please bear in mind that this is all still early and prototype, so things can (and likely will) change. I'm also going to try and not spoil too much here, as part of the game will be discovering what is hiding in the dark...

Either way, I'm digging how things sound, so stick on some headphones and enjoy:
