Hey'all!

It's been a while since our last Demo update - and that's because we've been busy working on a lot of new features and content for the game!

Here's a few sneak peaks to some of the simpler stuff that we've been working on that isn't top secret redacted content -

There's a looooot more we've been working on, but we aren't ready to reveal that yet! We're almost done with the second class, we have additional difficulty systems implemented, a new boss for every act, and even more [REDACTED] systems that we are experimenting with!

None of the features we've mentioned in this post are ready for the public yet (content creators beware!), but we're looking to expand our playtesting pool to have more feedback on what's working and where to improve!

If you might be interested in helping us playtest, please join our Discord server here and ask for the playtester role! We appreciate all and any ideas or feedback you have for us.

We're trying to make the best deckbuilder possible, and that doesn't happen without listening to your feedback!

Demo 0.4b - Air Time!

This is a rather small patch for the demo build that fixes some of the bugs encountered and adds a bit more content to help complement and flesh out the Push synergies a bit more!



There is still an elusive Kraken bug that we weren't able to reproduce yet - if you ever get soft-locked during the Kraken please let us know!

Otherwise, we've been busy in the background fleshing out the second Class and our difficulty systems. Keep an eye out in our discord server if you're interesting in playtesting them - we might need some extra pairs of eyes soon!

As always, if you encounter any other bugs or have more feedback, we are always happy to hear from you in our discord server!

‣ Added unlocks for Level 6 Gunner -> Sonic Boom, Dust Devil and Galeforce

‣ Added preview for amount of currency at Min's Workshop

‣ Fixed crash when entities are pushed into holes and collide with the wall at the same time

‣ Fixed soft-lock when rewinding Mega-Blob when it splits out-of-turn

‣ Added More Info for Plasma Fire's "chain"

Demo 0.4a - All Hands on Deck!

Thank you so much for playing our demo! We've got over 1000 new downloads since TactiCon, with a lot of great feedback and amazing support from you all!

We're working on some major updates in the background in preparation for EA and beta playtesting - but for now we've just published a patch for the demo that includes 2 new upgrades and Steam Deck resolution support! Go check it out!

What's new in 0.4?




[h3]- ​​Updated Tutorial! ​[/h3]

Meet Tippy, who will explain the mechanics of the game in a more user-friendly and clearer way than before!



[h3]- Metaprogression Systems![/h3]

After you finish a run (that is far enough), you'll meet a strange new character that will help you unlock more content in the game! On top of that, we've updated the way we handle unlocks for Pilots, and created a new Mech XP system that lets you unlock new cards and artifacts!



[h3]- Run History[/h3]

You'll now be able to see your Run History and score in a new scene! We're gonna be adding more features to it in the future, but for now it includes your deck, score, time played, etc.



[h3]​- Updated Visuals [/h3]

We've updated the visuals for the More Info scene, Victory and Defeat scenes, and the Main Menu! This is part of our on-going rework of all the scenes in the game. We're still working on the Deck view, Glossary, and the settings menu as well!

The new More Info scene let's you check out the AOE for some of the weirder cards like Flamethrower, as well as a new button that let's you check out all the possible components a card could get.

What's next?


Other than patch fixes and balance updates, we won't be doing as many major updates as we prepare for our EA release sometime near the end of the year! The next major update you can expect will be the Next Fest update, which will also be the last update for the demo - that update will bring the remainder of the visual upgrades, as well as add animations to the game! (the grid entities will all be animated)

However, if you're starving for more content, we will be opening up beta testing of the new EA content on our discord server sometime soon, which includes the new mech and their card pool! Join our discord if you'd like to be notified when our beta testing begins!

Prototype 0.3 - Reinforcements!

What's new in 0.3?




[h3]- ​​2 NEW Pilots! ​[/h3]

We've promised 1 new pilot, but spent a bit more time to add 2 new pilots for the Gunner mech class! Pilots are characters that have a new starter artifact and starter cards - to spice things up each time you play! Their mechanics will be unique, and make you able to do combos and synergies that cannot exist with any other pilot.



[h3]- Noel - the Cool Headed Tactician![/h3]

Noel is the second pilot in the game. Her starter artifact called Perma-Frost lets her retain the rightmost card in her hand each turn - and unburn it! Her starter cards replacements are Flurry Fire! and Novalanche - unique twists on the classic starters. She can easily lean into burn synergies, build up epic combos of Flurries in Fire! synergy, or devastate the board with bombs with Novalanche. Her starter artifact lets her do some nifty things such as -

- A Chain Plasma Fire that never leaves your hand?
- Repeat your turns indefinitely by unburning Alpha/Beta/Gamma?
- Setup huge hard-synergy combos by retaining exactly what you need at the right moments!



[h3]- Zeke - the Gadgeteering Genius![/h3]

Zeke is the third, high complexity pilot for Gunner. His starter artifact is The Machine, which dismantles cards with Components to give you boosts! He does not start with new starter cards, but starts with Augment, as well as Downgrade Components on some of his Fires and his Nova Bomb! Break down his downgrades and boost up his other cards in a tactical and adaptive playstyle! Here's some of the potential builds you could make with only Zeke:

- Infinite Titan Rockets or Tornado? Dismantle creates a new copy of the base card, regardless of if the card purges itself or not!
- Dismantle Tactics to get Vapor and build a high Heat Sink build with the updated Furnace!
- Did you know double-Traited cards will give you two gadgets if you dismantle them?

[h3]​- New artifacts, reworks, balance changes, and more QOL improvements! [/h3]

What's next?


​For our 0.4 update, we are focusing on fixing up the remainder of the scenes, and reworking the tutorial. Or more specifically, we will be reworking the tutorial so that it ties into the meta-progression as part of one big clean progression system. It is not a content-focused update, but we will still be adding cards, artifacts, components to the game as always!
