Last year, Saber Interactive impressed me with their game: Expeditions, A MudRunner Game. A game primarily focused on driving various types of off-road vehicles and using them to explore different maps to accomplish varying types of missions and goals. While I thoroughly enjoyed my time playing it, Saber Interactive have continued to capture my attention, this time with their newest release RoadCraft, a similar style game that steps it up a notch by adding a construction element to it.

Early on, you learn you will be tasked with rebuilding roads and structures to take you and your fleet of vehicles after floods or other various natural disasters have occurred. You will be required to not only scout out the area to keep supplies running, but clear the path and eventually building roads, as per the name RoadCraft.

We’re less than a week away from RoadCraft’s release, so it’s the perfect time for us to quickly recap all the information regarding the game!

RoadCraft is developed by Saber Interactive and published by Focus Entertainment. You might have seen these 2 names in various other games, such as SnowRunner or Expeditions. But is RoadCraft similar to these 2? Not at all!

In RoadCraft, you run a disaster recovery company. Your job? Restore regions hit by natural disasters and get local industry back on its feet. Of course, it’s not just about repairing. RoadCraft allows a freedom of action that lets you decide how you want to complete objectives. With over 40 machines available at launch, you’ll find a vehicle for every task.

RoadCraft pushes the Swarm Engine even further from its predecessors. Many things have been improved from the previous games, and many challenges were overcome to obtain the game we’re about to launch. If you’re interested in this particular topic, our Game Director covered it in a devblog.

During the Steam Next Fest, we released a playable demo to showcase the main features of the game. We’ve been happy to read your feedback, and follow them, as we can already tell that we added a driver model and 2 additional control schemes for the cranes. We’ve also added additional settings to help adjust the sensitivity of the controls when operating the cranes.

With 8 massive maps available at launch, RoadCraft offers dozens of gameplay hours, fully playable in 4-player co-op, with built-in voice chat and crossplay. 2 other additional maps will be added during the year as part of the Rebuild Expansion.

Speaking of which, RoadCraft is available to pre-order in Standard Edition (which contains the base game) and the Rebuild Edition. With the Rebuild Edition, you’ll have access, in addition to the base game, to the Rebuild Expansion and to an exclusive scout, the Invictus Type A. The Rebuild Expansion brings 2 new maps, new contracts, new activities and new vehicles available after the game’s release.

Regardless of the Edition you pre-order, you’ll receive the Aramatsu Bowhead 30T as a pre-order bonus!
