Preview of the First Major Update!

[h2]We don’t know if you missed some of development updates, but we definitely missed delivering those to you!
After a great start of early access, we continue working and nourishing the game, currently preparing the first major update, which is supposed to go live in Q3 2024.

Delta

[h3]After each planet, Gatekeepers will appear on Delta, the only place in the Universe where its guardians may catch their breath. Apart from being a safe and peaceful harbour, Delta is also known for having the biggest market, where artisans, engineers, mages and merchants trade their goods. Gatekeepers are also allowed to buy things, if they have coins of course…[/h3]

Bigger maps

[h3]After careful consideration, rounds of debates and an almost unanimous Discord voting, we decided to make locations a lot bigger. The idea is to give more space to explore and make the overall game flow smoother by reducing loading screens time and removing the rule of 3 locations per planet. And we definitely can’t make such a change without adding a minimap.[/h3]

Balance

[h3]Actually, it is a neverending process for the game, but still had to be mentioned here as at least one big change is planned and it’s a logarithmic growth for some items. It will help us to remove the hard cap for items with limited stacking (like Rune of Rebound with its dodge chance). [/h3]

Upgrades on items

[h3]This one is more vague and conceptional, but as one of the main objectives of this release is to make the gameplay deeper and give you more decisions to make, we consider several options for the items system upgrades. Those are not fully shaped in our heads yet, so to not give you false expectations, will keep you posted when we have more details to share.[/h3]

Version 0.8.0.41 is now available for download.

Fixed: Keeper's Mines could play the death particle and sound multiple times upon being killed.
Fixed: Softlock sometimes occurred when activating Quorium.
Fixed: Using certain skills during Quorium activation left projectiles from those skills in the gatekeeper's hands.
Fixed: The Prince could randomly stop attacking and just stand still.

Changed: The base health level of Mediator increased to 120.
Changed: Increased priority of Sirens in navigation on the navmesh. Other enemies now try to stay away from Sirens.
Changed: Enemy health and damage scaling values were slightly decreased.

Also, a large number of minor errors cluttering the logs have been fixed.

Fixed: Ritual Vessel did not reduce attack speed.

Fixed: Swarm Pendant caused errors when players teleported to another location.
Fixed: Harmony did not trigger when activating Quorium, Apotheosis, Juju, or Echo generators.
Fixed: Activated monoliths could be seen through the ground.
Fixed: Infinite loading screens when one of the participants disconnects during a run.

Changed: Reworked Aurora locations for better performance.

Changed: Reworked the obelisk spawn system for more even distribution of artifact rarities.
Changed: Minor rebalance in the Arena.
Changed: Eternal Heart now only activates from gatekeeper skills.
Changed: In the "Kill Them All" quest, enemies now spawn slightly faster.
Changed: Completely reworked the lobby and lobby browser netcode.
Changed: The "Tarra's Claw" artifact now gives a 15% damage bonus against Sirens.
Changed: Damage growth of the "Infurion" artifact is now +0.5% per stack.

(Tech Hunter) Changed: The third evolution of the "Trace" skill now grants a shield that protects from only one hit. The shield lasts for 10 seconds.
(Tech Hunter) Changed: Increased spread of bullets from the "Shotgun" skill. Bullets are also slightly larger to cover a wider area.
(Mediator) Changed: Duration of the "Ghostwalk" ability is now 3 seconds.
(Mediator) Changed: "Pain Conduit" no longer triggers most artifacts.
(Nidum) Changed: Ravens from the "Ritual" skill now have a chance to target the strongest enemy within range.
(Nidum) Changed: Ravens from the "Ritual" skill no longer break on interactive objects.

Added: A 3-second timer before the start of a run. All actions in the lobby are blocked during the countdown.
Added: In the settings, you can now switch the time slowdown during interactive popups to a full stop.

Fixed: Drones did not return to the location after falling off a cliff.
Fixed: Sentry's eye moves in random directions when attacking.
Fixed: The Prince could stop attacking gatekeepers at random moments during the battle.
Fixed: It was possible to connect to non-existent lobbies from the lobby browser.
Fixed: In the lobby browser, information about one lobby could be on the button leading to another lobby.
Fixed: Incorrect percentage calculation in the database.
Fixed: Text errors. Incorrect capitalization, incorrect values, spelling mistakes.
Fixed: Improved graphics performance in the main menu (reduced draw calls).

Changed: The interaction area is now around the gatekeeper. You no longer need to face an interactive object to activate it.
Changed: The item popup from Gift of Arcanum can now also be closed with the interaction key.
Changed: Hollow Talisman now tries to attack groups of enemies rather than a single enemy.
Changed: Seeding Colossus' attack now has a slight spread instead of hitting a single point.
Changed: Colossus and Collector projectiles now have a lifetime and will not endlessly chase gatekeepers.
Changed: Verdant Mistlands. The location is now smaller for better navigation and a higher density of points of interest.
Changed: On-screen objective indicators are now the same color and larger.
Changed: Siren health slightly reduced, but the number of enemies during Siren battles significantly increased.
Changed: Increased number of obelisks in the initial locations.

Added: Option to disable main shadows in the graphics settings.

Gatekeepers

Changed: Now, after the Replicant ability triggers for Hybrid, his damage increases by 50% until the end of the run.
Changed: Echo's skill cast delays significantly reduced.
Changed: Echo's Breach no longer gets destroyed when barely touching environmental elements.
Changed: Souls from Mediator's Harvest ability now slightly increase their speed while flying to the Mediator.
