Magenta Horizon is just over 1 week away. May 29th is creeping up quickly! If you're reading this and haven't done so already, please be sure to add it to your Wishlist!

In celebration of this upcoming Early Access release, we wanted to issue a challenge to players old and new. Put your Reaping prowess to the test, and obtain the best score possible for your chance to win!
(HINT: Higher difficulties will almost always yield higher scores)

The TOP 3 scores shared before the game's release (Deadline: May 28th @ 10 am PT) will win 1 Free copy of Magenta Horizon each! I will reach out directly on Steam to send you a redeemable Key for the game.

[h2]HOW TO ENTER[/h2]
  • Boot up the Free Demo on Steam
  • Play through Stage 4-1
  • Take a screenshot of your final score (F12 on Steam)
  • "Upload" screenshot
  • Set Visibility: Public

Multiple entries are allowed per player, but only your top score will be counted.
(Here is a Steam guide for sharing screenshots if it still feels unclear)


Just to note, you have to get good grades on "A", and getting SSS on "B" isn't necessary.

With Magenta Horizon's early access only being 2 weeks away (a little less even!) we wanted to show more of the game in action. Wanderbots was kind enough to allow us to share his gameplay on the Steam page!

Some additional polish has been added since the above stream. The environmental art received an additional quality pass a while back. But much more recently:
  • A starting Note has been written to prepare newcomers for the difficulty that lies ahead
  • Interaction UI texts are much bigger and more colorful
  • Play setting has a new option, the lenient checkpoint system where your progression doesn't get reverted upon death. But in return, you don't get any style score at the total scoring system.
  • How "skill select to shoot option" functions is slightly different now. You have to choose a skill then shoot, which means weapon swap shoot requires a double tap.
  • Boss Rush is now ready, and will be included in Early Access!

It's been a long road, working continually with the Magenta Horizon fanbase to polish and improve Act 1, while also onboarding that feedback to improve the rest of the game as well. And FINALLY it's time to share that Magenta Horizon will be entering Early Access on MAY 29th, 2023!

A new update has also recently been rolled out in preparation for our Early Access launch:

- Every horn pick-ups will be AUTOMATIC (You don't need to go near the dropped items) from now on.
- Adjusted the camera distance for every boss fights.
- Several encounters are modified with the new enemies and new weapons in consideration
- Blucher's body collider is adjusted to fit the animation.
- Summoned Wraith Heart spike now gets affected by gravity. (no more hovering spike)
- There's an input delay for dialogue click so there won't be any accidental line skip.

Adding Fodder enemy type + Guide Demon navigation assist option

A handful of hotfixes and content updates.

ADDITIONS CHANGES
  • Different enemy layouts in 2-1, 2-2, 3-1, 3-2 and 4-1
  • Whalefrog's projectile will now bounce on the ground and move front.
  • Removed an unintended feature of King Propeller keeps getting staggered after getting hit by a juggle/heavy/pull attack
  • Adjusted the attack movement of Wraith Dolphin and Vespineroth
  • You can progress to 4-2 from 4-S via activating the post-boss trigger.
  • Old Wraith’s total health is increased
