Spring is here, and as the flowers begin to bloom, we are hard at work on our next free update!
We're excited to share a little preview of what's to come, as well as a look forward to what we have planned for the future.

Coming May 12th, look forward to:

🪴 A New Spirit
A new plant-themed spirit will be found in your bedroom, make sure to keep your room tidy!

🎨 Color Customization for Avatar Clothing & Bedroom Items
First introduced in the Cozy Kitchen Expansion DLC, we are bringing color customization to more items in the bedroom and wardrobe. You'll finally be able to select just the right colors to match your outfit to your room decor.

🌸 Spring Window Background
What better way to celebrate Spring than to enjoy views inspired by Japan during cherry blossom season?



🧹 New Cleaning Activity
Your Avatar will be able to spend time sweeping up the floors of the bedroom, just don't mistake Dustbunny for a stray clump of dust! Maybe it might just inspire you to do some tidying yourself.

↩️ Reset for Custom Colors
We heard your requests and now you'll be able to reset color customizable items back to their default colors.

After the release of Cozy Kitchen, folks have already been asking for another DLC.
While we're not quite ready to reveal what we have in store, we are on track to release a new major DLC later this year along with all the other free updates. We're taking all your feedback into consideration and we're very excited about this one. So stay tuned for more info in the future!

Wow! It's already been one year since we launched Spirit City: Lofi Sessions!

What an incredible journey it has been. Over the past year, so much has happened – we've released 8 updates, introduced 10 new Spirits, launched 9 Spirit variants, added over 1,000 items to personalize your bedrooms, and so much more, including a multitude of quality-of-life improvements.

But none of this would have been possible without YOU, our amazing community. Words cannot fully express our gratitude and appreciation. You are the reason we keep working hard, day after day. A massive and heartfelt thank you to each and every one of you!

A big thank you also goes out to the content creators who believed in us from the very beginning when Spirit City was just a prototype. Because of you, the game reached a much wider audience and has touched incredible players all over the world.

One year means more than 300,000 copies sold, over 10,000 reviews on Steam, with 97% of them being overwhelmingly positive. One year means a community that continues to grow across all of our social media platforms, sharing so much with us.

As a very small team, we put all our heart and effort into every update to ensure Spirit City meets your needs and desires. It’s a true passion for us to create a world that resonates with you and to keep adding new content. We work tirelessly to bring you updates as often as possible, and each new step is a victory we share with you.

And that's not all! There's still plenty more to come in the next year, and we can't wait to share it with you. The journey continues, and with you by our side, we know Spirit City’s future will be even brighter!

Hello Spiritographers!

Following our 1.8.0 update, and the launch of the Cozy Kitchen DLC, we've heard about a couple bugs that have gone under our radar. So here's a hotfix update for some of those that needed our immediate attention.

We've also heard your requests for a way to revert color customization back to the default colors. We're working on adding this in our next update.

Additionally, we also want to let you know that we are very grateful for everyone who purchased the Cozy Kitchen DLC. The feedback has been amazing and gives us confidence in delivering more free and paid updates in the future to support Spirit City in the long run. 💖

• Fixed an issue where Syrupii would only be lured at the eating activity in the Kitchen. It can now be lured from any activities at the table in the Kitchen
  
• Fixed an issue with the Bentobunny's hint to make it easier to understand that you need a certain Spirit with you
  
• Fixed an issue with Ape-Bit's winter pack skins where it wouldn't load in the Avatar customization menu
  
• Fixed an issue where editing the color of the new Avatar items in the Cozy Kitchen DLC would let the user equip the item without buying it
  
• Fixed an issue with 2 wallpapers/backsplash in the kitchen
  
• Fixed an issue with the retro fridge getting no color set from the color menu at ID 2
  
• Fixed an issue where some eye options would look cross-eyed, especially visible during the new activities in the Kitchen
  
• Fixed an issue where depending on some backgrounds + time of day, the characters could have a strong colored shadow tint. Characters and Spirit don't take their shadow color tint from the backgrounds anymore
  
• Fixed an issue where we wouldn't see Night Forest soundscape effect in the Kitchen windows
  
• Fixed some typos in Spirit description from the Cozy Kitchen DLC

[h2]What’s Cooking in the Cozy Kitchen Expansion?[/h2]

• Three New Spirits to Befriend – New adorable Spirits to keep you company in the Kitchen - Including Capybun, a loaf-life capybara and Squire Sprout, a vegetable knight-in-training
  
• Nine Discoverable Spirit Variants – Expand your Spiritdex with unique and rare versions of your favorite spirits - Including Bentobunny, a variant of Dustbunny who loves sleeping in packed lunches and Toast-mate, a retro toaster variant of APE-bit.
  
• A Fully Customizable Kitchen – Personalize your dream kitchen with new decor options, including countertops, backsplashes, cabinets, and a cozy breakfast nook.
  
• Flexible Color Options – Using the new color selector you can now choose from a full-range of colors for certain items. Choose from pre-existing palettes, or even create your own custom ones.
  *This feature will be expanded to the base game in a free future update, so stay tuned!
• Expanded Spiritdex – A dedicated new Spiritdex page for your culinary-themed spirit friends.
  
• New Avatar Items – Look the part as you don new aprons and chefs hats for your avatar.
  
• New Kitchen Activities – Enjoy cozy kitchen tasks like chopping veggies, cooking and washing dishes to enhance your daily productivity and relaxation.

Additionally, we've also updated the base game with a bunch of cool stuff! As we always say, any new features, QOL. or improvements will remain available to everyone for free, and will never be locked in a DLC. ✨

Notably, in this Update 1.8.0, check out the new "Always on top" mode for the game window, new kitchen-themed soundscapes (for free!) and a fresh new look for the Spiritdex. See full patch notes below for all the details!

• FEATURE: We've added an "Always on top" mode for the game, which locks the game window on top of everything else. You can use it from the button in the new game bar menu and from a rebindable shortcut as well! We hope this makes it easier to have Spirit City always with you on your monitor!
  
• FEATURE: We've added a loading screen, about time!
  
• FEATURE: We've added a "News" section so that you can check out all of Spirit City's latest right from the game application.
  
• CONTENT: We've updated the Spiritdex look with extra visuals for each existing Spirit!
  
• CONTENT: To add with the Cozy Kitchen DLC, we've added 3 new soundscapes: Kitchen Ambience, Tasty Bubbling and Dishwasher sounds. While they only are useful to discover new Spirits in the Cozy Kitchen DLC, those soundscapes are free for everyone to enjoy!
  
• CONTENT: New activities for some Spirits! Now way more Spirits can be reading, gaming and meditating alongside you.
  
• QOL: Added a new save file for pomodoro timer settings! Your work and break timer values will now be saved across sessions.
  
• QOL: Selecting a Spirit in the Avatar customization menu will now remember the last equipped skin for that Spirit.
  
• QOL: Adjusted the Avatar and Room customization menus to take less space in the screen, letting you visualize your changes better!
  
• QOL: Added navigation arrows in the Avatar, Room customization, and Settings menus to offer an easier alternative way to select tabs
  
• QOL: Going into Room customization will now auto-select the tab at the current activity location.
  
• QOL: Added an additional graphics setting for fine-tuning shadows quality.
  
• ADJUSTMENT: The game window will now have subtle rounded corners for a more polished look on Windows computers.
  
• ADJUSTMENT: We removed the Discord Rich presence functionality from the game since it was creating some issues on Discord for users such as showing Spirit City being played twice, and added no value to the default's Discord preview.
  
• ADJUSTMENT: Moved the "Scenery" category to the "General" tab in Room customization.
  
• BUG: Fixed an issue where reordering to-do lists would sometimes merge the items inside of them.
  
• BUG: Fixed an issue where the game was crashing after level 500. (Yes, someone reached level 500! What an achievement!)
  
• BUG: Removed the delay before showing tasks, habits, and journal entries, which was causing issues for those with many entries.
  
• BUG: Fixed an issue where entering text in to-do tasks, habits, or journal would not render characters properly if they were from an unsupported language.
  
• BUG: Fixed an issue where moving in-game widgets around the screen was not always functional across different game window sizes.
  
• BUG: Fixed an issue with the frame rate settings where they wouldn't consistently be applied when the game launches.
