Patch #26 - Rebalanced difficulty, 3 sector run

[p]Hi everyone,

We're happy to announce that because of the hard work of our testers and community, we were able to quickly roll out the 3 sector patch on the main branch!

[/p]
Here's what you can expect in this update:
[p]
[/p]
📍Expanded Run Structure
• [p] The original 2 sectors have been split into 3 slightly smaller sectors, making the total run longer by almost 50%, giving the player more time to grow in power and customize their ship's loadout
[/p]
• [p] These are entirely new sectors in terms of layout and visuals, not modified versions of the old two.
[/p]
• [p] Sector randomization has been added: each run now selects 3 out of 6 possible sectors.
(Sector themes, storylines, and special missions are not in yet, these will follow at a later date.)
You can also expect even more alternate sector layouts soon.
[/p]
• [p]Experimental change: Any reactor power not distributed to any resource increases your heat dissipation by 1 (this is only a protoype change for now, hacked together from scripts, not in the game's base code, so there are some display/update issues), This change was suggested by our Discord member Pongi.
[/p]
🔧Enemy Changes
• [p] Former Sector 1 elites → Sector 1 bosses (slightly buffed)
[/p]
• [p] Former Sector 1 bosses → Sector 2 bosses (slightly buffed)
[/p]
• [p] 4 new Sector 2 elites
[/p]
• [p] 16 new Sector 2 enemies
[/p]
• [p] Some of these new Sector 2 enemies also temporarily fill the role of Sector 1 elites
[/p]
• [p] Former Sector 2 enemies → Sector 3 enemies
[/p]
• [p] Former Sector 2 elites → Sector 3 elites
[/p]
• [p] Former Sector 2 boss → Sector 3 boss
[/p]
🐛Bug Fixes
• [p] Fixed an issue with the floating container event giving no rewards if it spawned on an allied node
[/p]
• [p] Fixed being able to select duplicate perks
[/p]
• [p] Fixed a bug where some nodes were unintentionally repeatable
[/p]
• [p] Fixed an issue where unselected perks were being loaded when starting a new run
[/p]
• [p] Other minor bugs reported in our Steam and Discord bug forums
[/p]
Balance changes
• [p] Sector 3 boss: Hull points reduced from 200 to 160
[/p]
• [p] Sector 3 boss: Hacking console durability reduced from 24 to 20
[/p]
• [p] Sector 3 boss: Shield generator durability reduced from 24 to 20
[/p]
• [p] Sector 3 boss: Missile Launcher durability reduced from 24 to 20
[/p]
• [p] On entering a new sector, your ship is repaired for up to 50% of you max hull points
[/p]
• [p] Removed the starting station on entering a new sector
[/p]
• [p] Modified the position of the station before a boss fight to ensure all players can enter it
[/p]
[p] This update shakes up the game quite a bit: power scaling, balance, credit flow, and overall pacing are all affected. Because of this, you can expect a series of balance passes over the next few weeks as we bring everything back into equilibrium. [/p][p]To help us focus on smoother progression and deliver the new enemies, sectors, and maps, we’ve temporarily removed some world-building and story elements. [/p][p]Once the core experience stabilizes, we’ll shift our attention fully to narrative and world-building as we start revealing more of Breachway's story. [/p][p]We’re especially interested in your feedback on how the new sector structure affects difficulty and pacing, especially for newer players. Veteran players may find the game easier for now, but don’t worry, we’re adding that challenge back in through new escalation levels very soon.

Our focus for this patch was getting the new sector framework into your hands, but we’re also actively working on the major bugs you’ve reported. A dedicated bug-fixing patch is coming soon.

Thank you for your continued support, feedback, and activity on the forums and Discord.
It means a lot to us to know there are people enjoying what we’re building.
