Quality of Life Updates:

• Several quality of life changes have been added. See the full post for more information: August Quality of Life Updates
  • Enchant Scrolls can now be traded once. (Applies to scrolls obtained after the August 25th update.)
  • Bag Order Settings have been added, so you can control the order of where obtained items go into your inventory.
  • New changes have been added to the Friends List.
  • And more!

The following bug fixes have been made to the game:

• Fixed an issue where some players' hotkeys and pet menu settings reset after logging out.
• Fixed an issue where players would encounter NGS errors more often.
• Fixed various typos and grammar errors in some Commerce related tooltips.
• Fixed an issue where players would abnormally receive the Memento Scenario event quest.
• Fixed an issue where a character's neck would become detached from their body when wearing the Mysterious Thief outfit.

The following are known bugs:

• There is an issue where you cannot Friend Summon using Fynn Pets. It will show the error, "Unavailable because the owner has opened a Personal Shop".
• During the Kraken Rex boss fight, Kraken Rex will use an attack that will cause players to lose protection, semi-permanently, until they change channels or relog.
• There is a typo in the Finishing Materials list when crafting the Dustin Silver Knight Greaves.
• There is a known issue where some players are unable to obtain the G1 quest "Find Goro's Ring".
• There is an issue where certain G3 cutscenes will not play, but still charge gold.
• There is an issue where the Today Visitor Count does not reset to 0. When a visiting character visits the Homestead, the Today and Total Count accumulates normally.
• The available upgrades in the Item Upgrade may overlap in the UI if the window is increased.
• Homestead Anvils and Furnaces have settings to allow visitors to use them, but do not actually restrict the use of the items.
• There is a slight graphical error where part of the hose is missing when a William or Butler Partner uses the Water Hose gesture.
• Some Partner gestures that have them holding a weapon will appear as though the weapon is disconnected and floating.
• There are Partner gestures that do not activate when a Partner has something equipped in their left hand.
• There is an issue after using the Thunder skill, the character can't charge Thunder again until after the Thunder bolt hits/damages enemies.
• If you try to change your style to an appearance already saved in a Beauty Slot, it will say it failed.
• There is a minor visual issue with the Beauty Slot text if you scroll up and down after expanding the Beauty Slot.
• The outline color when clicking on an empty Beauty Slot is incorrect.
• There is text cut-off in the Buy Item UI when buying the Royal Society Appreciation Box from Melwyn.
• The inventory image for the Mace of Mercy is incorrect.
• Feeding a Pet Instructor Stick to a Level 100 Spirit weapon will cause the character to freeze.
• If you had a unicode heart on your wedding ring, the heart appears as a question mark.
• The Shaggy Perm hairstyle can be saved in a Beauty Slot.
• Cobweb Mummy enemies do not appear in the Alby Advanced Dungeon.
• Guilds are not appearing in the Guild List.
• When you first open the Master Plan Inventory, it will incorrectly show as locked. Closing and reopening the inventory will fix the issue.
• There is a minor graphical issue with the Special Shining Stage Concert Costume (M) when the character equipped with the outfit is running.
• Scathach's hands do not match her skin color.
• The Tail Chasers mini-game in Festia is currently inaccessible.
• Guild stones can be placed very close to each other.
• Some players have encountered an issue when using Fynn Sync for Corgi pets.
  • A further uncommon issue can occur where placing items into the pet's inventory will disappear.
• There is untranslated text in the mini-map at La Terra Highland zone and south Pantay Swamp zone.
• There is a typo in the world map for Errans Gorge.

Mabinogi will have a scheduled maintenance on August 25th. During this time, the game will be unavailable. Maintenance is expected to begin at 5:00 AM PDT and last approximately 6 hours.

• The Fairy Dragons are getting ready to head home! Sale of the Sealed Dragon Pet Box is ending.
• Processing of requested name changes. Note: The Name Change submission site will be unavailable after 7:00 AM PDT time, and will be available after the maintenance.

• Several graphical bugs affecting equipment have been fixed.
• When selecting a normal pet as a sub-pet during Fynn Sync, a confirmation window will now appear.
• If you attempt to rebirth shortly after being in combat, a notice window with the combat penalty will be displayed.
• The "Max Bundle Size" information has been added to the item description for items that can be stacked.
• The following NPC shops now sell the Trinity Staff item: Stewart, Castanea, Kirine, Heulfryn, Royal Physician (Tech Duinn Entrance), Berched, Finola, Lassar
• The following dungeon passes can now be obtained from the Partner's Gift Box, Partner Laighlinne's Gift Box, and Partner William's Gift Box.

  • Dan Advancement Badge
  • Full Recovery Potion and Massive Holy Water of Lymilark when acquired from VIP Advanced Items
  • Onyx and Fine Onyx (during Halloween Events)
  • Note: This only applies to items without duration or trade count limits. 
• It has been changed so that the "Rebirth" option in the character lobby is available only for pets that have a corresponding pet character card.
• The "Get Same Animal Character" menu that appears when you right-click another pet character has been removed.
• When transferring Erg to a weapon that has been trade unlocked, it has been changed so that the trade unlock status is maintained.
• It has been changed so that when you obtain an Exclusive Enchant Scroll, it can now be traded one time. 
  • This includes enchantments received from monsters, treasure chests, or quest rewards. 
  • This change applies to items obtained after the August 25th update.
  • Exclusive Enchant Scrolls obtained through Enchant Burning will not be eligible for the one-time trade count.
  • Note: The Scroll Trade Unlock Potion cannot be used on Exclusive Enchant Scrolls that have remaining trade counts.
• The "Complete All" function has been added to both the Baltane Squire’s Special Unit Training Board and Pet Expedition Bulletin Board so you can complete all ongoing missions at once.
• The "Exclude Song Part" checkbox has been added to Composing. 
  • When selected, the Song part is excluded, and the available characters are distributed evenly between the Melody, Harmony 1, and Harmony 2 parts so that you can compose longer Score Scrolls.
• Several changes have been made to the Friends List and message function to be more convenient.
  • It has been changed so that the friend request window does not disappear if the channel is changed while receiving a friend request.
  • You can now send and receive messages to others that you do not have added on the Friends List.
    • This can be disabled through the Friends List > Option > "Receive Messages from Friends Only" checkbox setting. 
    • Characters who have been blacklisted cannot send or receive messages from the party who blacklisted the character.
  • It has been improved so that the open chat window does not close when changing channels.
  • A new option to disable closing the chat window with the ESC key has been added. 
    • This can be enabled through the Friends List > Option > "Disable ESC from Closing Chat Window" checkbox setting.
  • A new function to expand/collapse all groups in the Friends List has been added.
    • All groups can be expanded or collapsed at once via the button added to the Friend Menu. Right click on the group, then select Expand All or Collapse All.
    • You can also expand or collapse all groups at once by double-clicking a group name while holding down the Ctrl key.
• The Combat and Horn message channels have been added, so it is now possible to separate system messages.
  • You can set up these channels via the Options > Game > Chat > Combat and Horn settings.
• The notice message when the dungeon is cleared has been simplified for all difficulties of Sidhe Finnachaid (Curiosity, Fear, and Sorrow).
• You can now skip the cutscene when entering Sidhe Finnachaid by choosing the "Enter (No Cutscene)" option through NPC Enn.
• The following items can now be registered to a slot in the hotbar.
  • Full Recovery Potion
  • Phoenix Feather
  • Party Phoenix Feather
  • Advanced Phoenix Feather
• A change has been made so that the trees will no longer obscure the camera vision in the second area of the Awakened Abyssal Lord Tech Duinn Mission.
• The visibility of the portal pattern on the floor in the Falias area in Alban Knights Training Grounds has been improved.
• It has been improved so that when the ALT key is pressed to view item name tags, the character name tags will not overlap and change the order of the name tags on the screen.
• The name tags of summoned doll bags will no longer be visible when the ALT key is pressed.
• Doll bags can now pick up items that dropped from monsters killed by the Baltane Squires in Baltane Missions.

• A function has been added to allow you to set the order in which items are placed into inventory bags when acquiring new items.
  • The "Bag Order Settings" menu is available as a newly added button at the top of the main inventory.
  • If you set the bag order, items will be placed in the order of the bag starting from number 1.
  • If there are empty slots in the basic inventory (Normal, Me, VIP), items will go into the main inventory first, then the bag inventory.
  • If the bag is tagged, the item is preferentially placed in the bag in which the tag is set.
  • However, in the case of equipment items, even if there are bags that have tags set, they will go into the clothing bag first.

Locke is back, and this time he's hosting everyone's favorite quiz! The OX Quiz has returned, and there's plenty of rewards to grab this time around. Check out all the details below!



Event Dates: Thursday, August 25th, After Maintenance - Thursday, September 8th, Before Maintenance

• Log in during the event period to receive the quest, [Guide] The OX Quiz is Back!
• Talk to Locke located near the Vales Mana Tunnel to register a main character.
• You can only register one character per account.
• Once completed, you will receive the following:
  • 10,000 EXP
  • 3,000 Gold
  • Locke's OX Quiz Invitation
    • Allows you to move near the OX Quiz location.
    • The item is given to the main character every day, and can be purchased from Locke using Gold.
  • Unlock the daily quest, [Event] Daily OX Quiz and achievement quest, [Event] To Be an OX Quiz Master
• Anyone can participate in the OX Quiz even if they are not the main character, but only the registered main character can participate in the event quests.
• Note: OX Quiz Vouchers and Locke’s OX Quiz Invitation event items will be removed from the inventory during the 9/15 maintenance.

• The OX Quiz will take place every hour on the hour during the event period.
• Visit the event location by using the Locke’s OX Quiz Invitation or use the Vales Mana Tunnel.
• You must be standing in the O or X quiz squares on the hour to participate in the OX Quiz.
• The OX Quiz is a game of True (O) or False (X) and there are a total of 30 quiz questions each round.
• When the quiz starts, you have 10 seconds to choose your answer for the statement.
• Stand on the square of the answer you think is correct.
• If you answer incorrectly, you will be removed from the quiz area for the round. Try again next time!
• For each correct answer, you will receive Combat EXP or Renown EXP:
  • Combat EXP - 10,000 EXP
  • Music Renown - 35 EXP
  • Life Renown - 175 EXP
• You can change your preferred experience reward as the main character by talking to Locke.
• If you are not a main character, you cannot change the reward, and you can only receive 1,000 combat experience for each correct answer.
• If you answer all 30 in a round correctly, you will receive an OX Quiz Gift Box.
• The main character is eligible to achieve 1st titles according to the results of the OX Quiz. 
  • who was Foiled by a Cat (Luck +30)
  • who was SO CLOSE  (Luck +30)
  • the Quiz Pro (Luck +30)

• The main character can receive the daily quest each day, [Event] Daily OX Quiz 
• Daily quests reset at 7:00 AM PDT. 
• To complete the quest objective, participate in the OX quiz and answer 10 OX Quiz questions correctly.
  • These do not have to be answered consecutively.
• Once completed, you will receive:
  • 20,000 EXP
  • 5,000 Gold
  • *NEW* Locke's Book (Totem) Selection Box
  • 20 OX Quiz Vouchers

• The main character will receive the achievement quest, [Event] To Be an OX Quiz Master
• To complete the quest objectives, clear the Daily OX Quiz quest several times.
• Once completed, you will receive:
  • 1st Objective: Clear the Daily OX Quiz quest 3 times
    • Reward: Locke's Book (Totem) Selection Box x3
  • 2nd Objective: Clear the Daily OX Quiz quest 3 more times
    • Reward: *NEW* Encyclopedia Erinnica: Secrets and Mysteries (Bonus Damage Totem)
      • Totem stats range from 0.1 to 1%
      • The totem can be exchanged with Locke for new totem stats.
      • You can also sell the totem to an NPC for 1000% Exploration EXP.
  • 3rd Objective: Clear the Daily OX Quiz quest 3 more times
    • Reward: Encyclopedia Erinnica: Secrets and Mysteries (Bonus Damage Totem)
  • 4th Objective: Talk to Locke near the Vales Mana Tunnel
    • Reward:

    • 10,000 Gold
    • 100 OX Quiz Vouchers

• You can select and receive one of the following books (totems) from the Selection Box:
  • Finding Balance: A Life Primer (All-Stats Totem)

  • The Thrill of the Skill (Max MP Totem)

  • The Secret of Longevity: Outlasting Your Enemies (Max HP Totem)

• Right-click “Activate” to receive the effects of the totem.

• All OX Quiz Book (totems) can be exchanged with Locke to reset the Totem stats.
• Select Change Book (Reset Totem Stats) when talking to Locke.
• Select the book (Totem) you wish to exchange.
• You can exchange up to 5 times a day.
  • 1st - 50,000 gold
  • 2nd - 40,000 gold
  • 3rd - 30,000 gold
  • 4th - 20,000 gold
  • 5th - 10,000 gold
• Once exchanged, you will receive the same totem with different stats.
• The exchange limit resets daily at 7am PDT.

• OX Quiz Vouchers can be exchanged for various items by talking with NPC Locke.
• Consumable items are not tradable and expire in 14 days. 
• Locke's Skill Training Seal (30) has no expiration date. 
• Locke's OX Quiz Invitation can also be purchased for 6000 Gold.

Dear Milletians,

It is a pleasure to share more with you in my second Producer’s Letter. Thanks to your support, the Great Era of Commerce update has been completed throughout the Summer. The Mabinogi Team is now focusing on the updates for the second half of the year to bring various and exciting content to you in Autumn and Winter.

To provide you with useful rewards and items, we have prepared a new version of the Portrait Attendance event called the “My Own Attendance” event. You can start the event anytime during the registration period to begin receiving daily rewards. As you may have noticed, this will reward the Mysterious Blue Bag (10x17 inventory slot bag) that we know you’ve been asking for! I hope this will give you a bit more space in your inventory~

I’d like to share more information about the upcoming contents that we expect within the rest of 2022. Here is a preview of what’s to come: 

Quality of Life Updates

Many quality of life updates are being prepared to improve features and options in the game. Some of the notable changes are:

• Inventory Bag re-order function   
  
• Exclusive Enchant Scrolls can be traded once
  
• Full Recovery Potions and Phoenix Feathers can be added to the hotbar
  
• Reduced flashy effects for skill rank-up, Critical Hits, Meteor Strike, etc
  
• You can sell Fynni Pet Whistles all at once to Fionnait
  
• Item Enchanting and Special Upgrade Improvements
  
• Improved Inventory Search function, allowing a list view of the Inventory
  
• And more!
  

Field Raid Revamp

• Field Raid Bosses will be rebalanced to become stronger and more resilient.
  
• Participating in raids will become more convenient (announcement for all channels, fast travel, etc.)
  
• Rewards improvements
  - A voucher shop will be added for guaranteed prizes.
  - You will be more likely to get rewards if you have a higher contribution. 
  

Masterpiece C1

• The Chapter Info UI will be revamped.
  
• Replay feature for Chapter 1 Generations (G1, G2, and G3) will be added. 
  
• Graphic overhauls for major NPCs from C1. 
  
• Korean voiceover will be added for NPCs in C1.
  

Progression Improvements

To help Milletians adapt to Erinn life more easily and improve the beginner’s experience, we will bring multiple updates to Mabinogi.

• The level standard for “Beginner” characters will be increased to 10,000, and you will be able to receive various benefits based on revamped level standards.
  
• Blaanid’s Memoir will be revamped with better rewards. 
  - Significantly, a lesser version of the Divine Link skill, which could only be obtained through playing G19, will be available through the Memoir.
  - We will also add new rewards that will be useful to beginners, such as pets and doll bags.
  
• Skill training, Renown, Grandmaster, and leveling for Crusader skills will become a lot easier. 
  - The amount of skill training required will be reduced greatly, especially notable for the skills that required extremely huge amounts of training.
  - Skill training requirements centered around character and monster CP, which has been a hurdle for many Milletians, will be removed.
  - There will also be many other changes including increased Renown EXP, unlocking Crusader sub-skills at once, and more.
  

Arcana Update

• The Arcana Talent is a new talent that has the characteristics of two combined talents, and it will bring a new charm to your combat experience, different from the other talents.
  
• This Winter, we will introduce the Elemental Knight – a damage-dealing talent with Close Combat and Magic talents combined – and the Saint Bard – a supporting talent with Holy Arts and Music talents combined, which will both be added as new Arcana Talents.
  
• Of course, new skills and bonus stats for these talents will be added as well.
  
• We are also hoping to introduce more and more new Arcana Talents in the future.
  

We will be reviewing and testing these contents and the plan could change, but I am excited to bring all of these listed contents to you soon!
