Preview: Kelsaik’s Revenge

The long-awaited upgrade to mythical gear, multiple new instances and the return of Kelsaik – patch 91 arrives packed with thrilling new contents for TERA! Here’s what you can look forward to in the new update! Please note that some names in this preview are subject to change and may differ in the final release.
New Dungeons
Kelsaik’s Refuge
You can enter Kelsaik’s Refuge via a teleportal on an island near the Berak Fortress. The quest can be accepted in the Federation Reliquary Station on Exodor.
You hardly need cross the threshold before realising that something isn’t right – a horde of argons await your arrival, while the skies blacken with mournwings. Do you have the guts to take on this corrupted deity?
You can enter the dungeon in a 5-player group up to 5 times per week (10 times for Club members). If you can get the better of Kelsaik, you can collect materials for mythical gear. The recommended item level is 461, and each entry costs 220 adventure coins.
Kelsaik’s Refuge (Hard)
This is the toughest nut in the new update! With the recommended item level set at a whopping 480, this is the new king of the dungeons. As with the regular version, you can take on Kelsaik up to 5 times per week (or 10 times as a Club member).
Aside from looting materials for improving your gear, you can also pick up exclusive items for changing the appearance of your weapons. Craft a permanent weapon skin using two new weapon blueprints and certain required items, adorning your weapon with a fiery or icy memento of your victory against Kelsaik!
Forbidden Arena
The Forbidden Arena in the Sienna Canyon is a test for characters above level 69 and an item level above 461. The arena was once Killian’s favourite haunt, a place where he would amuse himself watching bloody spectacles, to which purpose he created an immortal champion…
This instance can likewise be entered 5 times weekly (10 times for Club members) for 220 adventure coin.
A brand-new brooch is amongst the loot on offer, which can either be prised from the boss’ hands directly, or exchanged for tokens which you can loot and collect.
New Gear

Mythical
Reports have come through that a new breakthrough has been made in Muhrak’s Workshop in Habere – for the first time in the history of Arborea, ‘Mythical’ (purple) gear has been crafted!
The previous ‘Legendary’ (gold) limit has finally been broken, giving all adventurers the opportunity to increase their strength! The only things you need are the materials from Kelsaik’s Refuge, plus an Annihilation/Dark Light item to enhance (weapon, chest armor, gloves or shoes).
The new gear looks amazing, and mythical weapons even glitter with a new visual effect when they’ve been enchanted!
Plus they have certain special passive effects:
* Lancers deal more damage against enraged monsters and generate 50% more aggro against them
* Brawlers deal more damage against enraged monsters and generate 50% more aggro against them (exception: Growing Fury)
* Priests and Mystics deal 20% more healing on players below 40% HP. They also deal 5% more damage against enraged monsters
* All other classes deal 5% more damage as long as they have more than 80% HP
The following item types can be upgrade from legendary to mythical:
* Annihilation Gear
* Dark Light Gear
* Eternal Annihilation Gear
* Eternal Dark Light Gear
Enhancement Materials
The following items are required in differing amounts for enhancing your gear. The amount required depends on the catalyst used.
* Diamonds
* Golden Plates
* Silver Plates
* Dark Magic Stone (from Kelsaik’s Refuge)
* Dark Shard Crystal (from Kelsaik’s Refuge)
Possible Catalysts
In order to upgrade a legendary item into a mythical one, you require an item to upgrade, the materials listed above, plus a catalyst. The amount of materials you need will depend upon the type of catalyst used.
Dark Mana Essence (from Kelsaik’s Refuge)
Dark Mana Essence is devised as a replacement for those who don’t own any Heroic Oath gear, and as a result this catalyst has the highest costs.
Heroic Oath Gear
The better your Heroic Oath gear’s enchantment (+0 to +3), the lower the costs of enhancement.
You’ll find a more detailed list of the costs available soon in the patch notes.
