Shutdown Maintenance - 30/06/2022 10:00 CEST (04:00 EDT)

Dear community,

We would like to inform you that all servers will be closed this Thursday, 30th of June at 10:00 CEST (04:00 EDT).

Please note that the game cannot be added in the Gameforge client anymore, and in case you have it installed, we recommend you uninstall it after the server closing.
All TERA pages and channels will close shortly after the service has been shut down.

We would like to thank you one last time for being here with us, it has been a decade full of action, challenges, fun with friends and legendary battles, and we wish you all have some great memories to keep forever with you from TERA.

Once again we received remarkable entries, some accompanied by short stories of your memories that gave us spicy eyes. So many memories and happy and even funny moments made this difficult moment even harder for us. We had to choose 30 winners, but instead, we selected 55!

Contest: Best of TERA

All good things come to an end and have to say goodbye. Farewells never come easy that is why we decided to try and make this sad moment a little bit brighter.

We are inviting you, loyal citizens of Arborea, to show us the best memories you’ve created in TERA. Whether it is in a form of an artistic screenshot that portrays your character chilling in your favorite spot on the map, or unique fan art, you can be one of the 30 winners to win a bundle full of TERA merchandise!

When: The contest will take place from 29/04/22 until 15/05/2022 at 23:59 CEST

Here’s how it works:

By participating in this contest, you accept our Terms and Conditions.
The submission can be a TERA a screenshot, or an artwork.
Image submissions must be in .png, .jpg, .bmp or .psd format with dimensions of at least 1920x1080 pixels and maximum file size of 6 MB.
All submissions must be sent to [email protected] with the subject "Best of TERA".
Send your participation email using the email address associated with your game account and please also state your character name, country, and server.
Submissions will be accepted until 15/05/2022 at 23:59 CEST
Gameforge will select 30 entries from amongst all eligible entries by 20/5/2022 on the basis of their creativity and originality.
Only one submission per e-mail account.
Gameforge employees are allowed to participate but are excluded from the receipt of any prizes.
The participant needs to be the creator of the submission holding all legal rights attached to it.
All users residing within the European Union, the United States of America, Canada, Mexico, and South-East Asia are eligible to participate.

Final submission date: 15th May 2022 11:59 PM CEST (5:59 PM EST)

Prizes

The TERA team will select 30 entries amongst all eligible entries by 20/05/2022 on the basis of their creativity and originality. The winners will be announced on 20/05/2022 during the day and will also be notified of their win via email.

In order for the winners to receive their prizes, they will have to reply to our email with their address information by 27/05/2022 23:59 CEST (17:59 EST) at the latest.

Gameforge will send the prizes to the winners by 03/06/2022. Please note that due to the situation with the pandemic, shipping may take longer than usual (depending on the country).

The winning submissions will be shared on all our platforms (website, forum, Steam, social media).

Long-running MMO Tera is shutting down

After close to 11 years, the long-running MMO Tera is shutting down. Publisher Gameforge explains in a blog post that servers are shutting down on June 30 at 1am PST / 4am EST / 9am BST as developer Bluehole is "no longer able to offer you the exciting and satisfying content you deserve".

"Unfortunately, we come bearing bad news: Tera's developer, Bluehole, has decided to cease work on Tera," the team says. "After much consideration, the team in South Korea has come to the conclusion that it's no longer able to offer you the exciting and satisfying content you deserve. As the last remaining publisher of Tera, it is with a heavy heart that we must respect Bluehole's decision, and will also have to shut down the game."

The team is running some permanent events until the servers are switched off "in the hope that you'll at least be able to enjoy these final months in Arborea". Gameforge explains in a FAQ that new account registrations and Tera Thaler currency sales will cease on May 31, which is the same day Tera Club purchases come to a halt.
