Welcome back to another monthly devlog from ZOO Simulator! 🦏 As we’ve already said, we’d like to give you as much possibilities as we can. That’s why we’re especially happy to present the topic of today’s devlog- the renovation system.


Throughout your gameplay you’ll be able to not only fix and change the animal enclosures but also other buildings. In general, the entire system can be divided into 4 separate categories:

[h3]Office 🖥️[/h3]
In the office you’ll be able to switch your furniture, they’ll be in different colors and styles so you’ll be able to find something that suits your individual taste. 🙂 Of course you’ll also be able to change the looks of the interior walls and floor.




[h3]Buildings 🏠[/h3]
It goes without saying you’ll also be able to renovate other buildings in your ZOO. We plan to give you the ability to alter the look of the exterior walls as well as the interiors. One of such buildings will be the warehouse.

[h3]Plants 🌱[/h3]
Here, we’re not talking about some pot plants but a big scale exchange of the vegetation inside your enclosures. To be able to access this feature, first you’ll need to hire a specialized employee- the gardener in the employee section. If you’re interested to what extent you will be able to alter the enclosures this way make sure to add the game to your wishlists on Steam because we’ll cover this topic in a separate devlog! 🤩

[h3]Miscellaneous 📝[/h3]
This category will contain other elements of the ZOO such as fences etc.

We’re thrilled to welcome you to this devlog. Especially so since the contents of this month’s devlog were inspired by the suggestions we’ve received from you! 🤩 We’d like to thank everyone who gave us their thoughts on the game.

The topic we’d like to talk about is the tablet. Many of you stressed that running from the enclosures to the office every time you want something is not convenient at all. We agree! 🖥️ Therefore we’d like to present our answer for this problem- the tablet.


[h3] Players will be able to buy it and essentially, the functions of the tablet are almost the same as those of the computer. 📝[/h3]

That’s right, almost… To be able to adopt new animals you’ll still have to make your way to the office but to compensate for the lack of this feature, you’re given a nice map access and camera! 🔥 By the way, if you take a closer look at the screen, you might figure out the topic of the upcoming devlog! 🙂

It’s not the only novelty introduced to the game. Another one is a sledgehammer! ⚒️ Before you put finishing touches on the enclosures and let your animals it, first you have to get rid of some old infrastructure. That’s where the hammer comes in handy! 💪 Use it to safely remove the old concrete walls. Below you can take a closer look at your new tool. 👍

Welcome back to the ZOO. First of all, we’d really like to thank you all for your feedback during the Steam Next Fest. 💝 We’ve heard you loud and clear and now we know which aspects should be polished. We hope you’ll keep supporting us and together we’ll create a great game! 🙂

[h3]Today, we’d like to show you yet another aspect of the game- the decorating system! 💎[/h3]


[h3]So, how does the player decorate the enclosures? 🤔[/h3]

Player decorates the enclosures in the decoration mode. To be able to use that mode the player must enter the enclosure. Once in there, the HUD will display information to press “V”. Completing this action will turn on the mode in which you’ll be able to choose different objects sorted into different categories.


After picking the object you can start maneuvering it to place it in the best possible spot.

[h3]What objects will be available? 📝[/h3]

At your disposal there will be various elements sorted in 4 different categories:

[h3]Food and Water 🥫[/h3]
Category where all the troughs and water bowls of various sizes are stored.

[h3]Shelter 🏠[/h3]
Pick the best home tailored for each of your cute animals


[h3]Enclosure decorations 💟[/h3]
Different kinds of objects enchanting the looks of the enclosures

[h3]Toys 🧸[/h3]
Different objects your animals will be able to interact and play with. Additionally, later in the game different objects will be available to place outside of the enclosures to increase the guests’ opinion on your ZOO.


What impact do the decorations have on the gameplay?

Decorations allow you to create a truly unique, eye-catching garden you’ll be proud to manage. What’s more, animals have their needs which are to be regulated. One of those needs is the previously mentioned Fun. Player has to provide the animals with proper toys, fitted for different kinds of animals.


The amount of decorations improves the rating of the enclosure and as the result, the rating of your ZOO. The higher your rating is, the more visitors you’ll have. We suppose it goes without saying the earnings will rise too! 📈
