Mutants: Genesis 1st birthday!

Dear Psycogs,

Mutants: Genesis is celebrating its first anniversary!

To mark the occasion, we'd like to thank players for their loyalty and look back on a fantastic year.

Mutants: Genesis has had a great first year in early access, with many evolutions. And although some features have taken a little longer than expected, feedback from the community, with particularly enthusiastic and committed Psycogs, has greatly contributed to the improvement of Mutants: Genesis (and warmed our hearts!).

⌛TIME RIFTS

  • Rewards obtained by completing Time Rifts are once again retrievable. We apologize for this untimely inconvenience!
  • The text below the Upper Rift has been corrected: you must of course complete the Upper Rift to obtain the rewards corresponding to it.


📖 CAMPAIGN

  • Situations where characters were not displayed correctly in the campaign have been corrected. Further fixes will follow to address cases where certain dialogues and cinematics do not launch automatically.
  • Subtitles were not correctly positioned in some resolutions.


🏗️ DECKBUILDING

  • Making a new card in an incomplete imported deck will no longer cause infinite loading.


🎮 USER EXPERIENCE

  • New improvements have been made to handle disconnections more effectively. The game will better handle the case of reconnection after leaving the application (mobile).
  • Orbital Strike visual effect corrected.
  • Added a visual effect to the Soul Pit activation.
  • Improved visual effects for the discard and card search screens.

🎮 USER EXPERIENCE

  • Various improvements have been made to the system handling disconnection, then reconnection, particularly when this occurs in the lobby, at the beginning of a Boss battle, or during a game in progress. It should be noted that various scenarios are still being analyzed, and that this may still pose a problem in certain specific situations.
  • Cinematic sequences can now be skipped with a single click.
    Improved readability of text, particularly when searching for opponents or on store prices.
  • Corrected display issues on various interfaces, including: login rewards, home page, ranked games, store preview window, deck selection, Time Rifts and combat.
  • It is now possible to navigate between appearances by clicking on the small dot below the selection window.


📱MOBILE

  • Clarification of error messages in the event of problems encountered during authentication on Android.


🎵 SOUND

  • Improved sound support, especially for cinematics.
  • Better management of sound levels, in combat or in menus, depending on the settings selected in the options.


🖹 TEXTS

  • Some elements were not correctly translated in the interfaces for ranked games and avatar selection.

What's Next?

As announced at the end of the last year, we've just released the Mobile version for Android and now that we have, many of you are no doubt wondering what we have planned for future updates of the game.

[h3]iOS Version[/h3]

Players with iPhone should soon be able to join the other Psycogs, as we're in the process of finalizing this version, which requires a few more adaptations. Thank you all for your patience.

[h3]A Touch of Emotion[/h3]

Many players have told us that they'd like to have more ways of communicating and expressing themselves during games, and the first step towards this is on the way: emotes. We're going to introduce a system of emotes that will make it a little easier to communicate your emotions in the middle of a game.

These emotes will be based on the various characters you've already met in the course of the game, such as Victor and Zula.



We plan to add new emotes regularly as patches are released, and they may also feature new characters appearing in future chapters. Once new emotes are released, you'll be able to make your own selection of emotes available in the middle of combat, from the list of those you've unlocked. This will take place in a dedicated interface outside duels.



Regarding this, let's move on to the next section, concerning the upcoming story chapter.

[h3]Junior Mutants League[/h3]

At the end of the first chapter at the Panakéia orphanage, you were selected as Captain of your team after defeating Boris and Zula. Now it's time to test your skills against the other teams in the Junior Mutants League. The 6 most powerful teams in the league await you, each linked to one of the megacorporations at the centre of this universe.



Will you be able to defeat them and become Junior Mutants League Champion? Whatever happens, Uncle Vic will be there to support you, Boris and Zula in the challenges ahead.

This second chapter, which is longer than the previous one, will take place all over the world and will allow you to meet and face the other major teams in the league, while discovering their respective Captains, each with their own specialty.



We've included much more lore about the universe in this second chapter, now that you've left the Panakéia Orphanage. And to reinforce the atmosphere of each of the major megacorporations in the Mutants: Genesis universe, we'll also be adding arenas specific to each Champion, here are two of them:





All these new battles will be accompanied by new unlockable cards, usable in all game modes, with new mutants specializing in a single gene.

This chapter will be made available very soon, over the course of 6 patches, each containing one of the Junior Mutants League teams. All those fights will be playable in the order of your choice.

This chapter focuses on battles against other characters, but that won't be the only threat. There will also be a Boss to face.

[h3]Titanic Threats[/h3]

Following the release of the content for the second chapter, we'll be unlocking access to the second Boss fight of Mutants: Genesis, which will take place in its own 2-level dungeon, to be completed in cooperation with other players.



This dungeon will be accessible directly from the map in the second chapter, and will require you to have progressed far enough in the story.

Don't expect this new boss to be as kind to you as the Simulacrum was - this time the Titan will be a strange, savage creature ready to destroy everything in its path, and the dungeon is full of deadly dangers!



This new Titan will feature all-new mechanics, and exclusive rewards obtainable in its dedicated dungeon: new maps and an exclusive Skin. It will also alternate with the Simulacrum in the Time Rifts.

[h3]The community expands[/h3]

We'd like to thank all the new Psycogs who have joined the Mutants: Genesis universe, and we hope to see you all evolve along with our characters and the mutants you control in battle in all future patches.

This is just a teaser of the upcoming features that will be coming to the game, and we'll be sure to tell you more as they get closer to their respective releases.

⚖️ BALANCING PATCH

  • A new balancing patch is here! You can find all the information and changes it brings in the Steam article:

🎴 CARDS

  • Correction of various visual bugs that could occur when an opponent played a card.
  • Mutants with a single gene were not displayed correctly in the card list.
  • Corrected a number of animations, including Wrath, The Glutton, Tengu, Halbeard, Altaris, Leviathan, Mecharachnidian, Honey Bunny, Haggis, Dreadnought and Steam Warlord.


📖 CAMPAIGN

  • A black screen could occur after battles against Zula or Boris.
  • If you hadn't yet chosen your deck, it was possible to get stuck following a game error redirecting you to the home page.
  • Returning to a battle that had already been won could block the display of the next battle.



🎵 SOUND

  • Implementation of a new sound engine, correcting various problems with sound effects and music.


🎮 USER EXPERIENCE

  • The last deck played is now selected by default.
  • Fixed display issues on various interfaces, including: Time Rifts, Time Shop, Shop, Avatar, Login Screen, Friends List, Deckbuilding and Home Page.
  • Cosmetics earned as rewards in the Campaign, Genetic Pass and Ranked games can now be previewed.
  • Optimized video player for better playback of cinematics.
  • In the options, the refresh rate was not correctly taken into account.


🖹 TEXTS

  • Certain texts essential to understanding the tutorial have been defined and can no longer be skipped.
  • Standardization of certain texts (including the use of the term Skin).
