Notice on Scenario Servers

Dear Metas,

Many players have sent us feedback on the feature that allows you to invite friends into your server. We take your views seriously and would like to explain our intentions and proposed solutions to the current issues.

Issue 1: Invitations are no longer available on some very popular servers.
Explanation: Invitation codes were introduced as a concessionary measure to let friends play together on servers that had already reached their population caps. We restrict the number of players who can join using invitation codes because we want the standard sign-up procedure to be the primary way of joining a server. We recognize that this feature still has room for improvement. In the short term, we will raise the cap on the number of players who can join via invitation code. For the long term, we will introduce a group sign-up feature.
Solution:
1. Raise the cap on the number of players who can join via invitation code.
Estimated Implementation: September 6, 2024
2. Allow players to sign up for scenarios as a group.
Estimated Implementation: October 2024

Issue 2: Some servers have been open for a while and no longer accept sign-ups, so friends cannot enter.
Explanation: We set a time limit on server sign-ups so that players in a scenario will have roughly equal progression. This prevents situations such as excessive power gaps or being unable to find suitable teammates. We will be making adjustments to the time limit based on your feedback.
Solution:
1. For existing players, we will extend the period during which a scenario can be joined from 10 to 14 days.
Estimated Implementation: September 26, 2024
2. New players (newly created characters) shall be allowed to enter any scenario without any time restriction. However, new players may encounter excessively high difficulty levels on some servers, so please choose your server carefully.
Estimated Implementation: September 26, 2024

We will continue to take note of and resolve any issues pertaining to season transitions. If you have any feedback on the above changes, do let us know via Discord, social media, or other channels. We will make an official announcement once the changes are finalized. Thank you for your support!

Once Human still has plenty of people playing it, but some negative player feedback for season 2 has still apparently been "quite demoralising"

Oh dear, players have been continuing to give the devs behind Once Human their feedback for season 2, and apparently it's been "quite demoralising."

Once Human hasn't exactly had the smoothest of starts for a live-service game, with players not being the happiest about those seasonal resets, as well as some frustrating server queue times, but that just comes with the territory sometimes in the field. However, it seems like the game's second season hasn't gone down all that well with players, with Starry Studio responding to complaints on Once Human's Discord server (thanks, Eurogamer). In a statement, the developer explained, "Since the start of Season 2, we've received a lot of feedback.

"Some of it has been quite demoralising, but what's important is that it's made us aware of how your experience has been affected by the changes we've made. We want to discuss some of these issues today. We value your opinions and hope that we'll be able to fulfil all of your requests in future updates. Our development team is making optimisations in response to two major issues that players have raised, which we'd like your feedback on as well!"

Once Human dev says some recent player feedback 'has been quite demoralizing'

We had a fine time with free-to-play survival MMO Once Human: our review described the PvPvE open world shooter as deep and "surprisingly sticky." We're not alone in liking it, either: Steam review scores are "mostly positive" and two months after its July launch there's still over 100,000 concurrent daily players. Sounds like a well-received hit to me...
