The Ultimate Survival Guide to Nalcott! Save This Like Your Life Depends on It!

The Ultimate Survival Guide to Nalcott! Save This Like Your Life Depends on It!

Welcome to Nalcott! As freshly minted Metas, you're about to venture into a world full of bizarre wonders and lurking dangers. To help you survive and thrive, your guide, Xiaoqi, has crafted a custom survival handbook. Read it well. It will help you immensely!

Make sure to remember the mobile launch time and rally your friends. Your journey is about to begin!

Official Launch Time:
United States:April 23, 5:00 PM (UTC-7)
South America:April 23, 9:00 PM (UTC-3)
Europe:April 24, 12:00 AM (UTC+0)
Southeast Asia:April 24, 8:00 AM (UTC+8)

1.What's a scenario? And which one should I choose?

In Once Human, every server belongs to a specific scenario, each with its own survival theme, gameplay style, and final challenge. There are four scenarios currently available:
Manibus (PvE): Battle pollution and defeat bosses such as the Manibus.
The Way of Winter (PvE): Brave the cold and fight apocalyptic threats such as the Chaosweaver.
Evolution's Call (PvP): Form Warbands and fight over strongholds to become the last team standing.
Prismverse’s Clash (PvP): Join one of two factions, compete over Prism Deviations, and defeat the opposing side.

For new players, we highly recommend starting with the Manibus (Novice) scenario. It's more forgiving and is the perfect place to learn the basics of survival and combat.

Not loving your current scenario? You can use Activity Tokens to redeem a Scenario Exit Card and join a different one. Your in-game assets like cosmetics, Starchrom, blueprints, mods, and weapon accessories are all shared across your account. You can also create new characters to try out other scenarios freely!

2.How do I select a server? What do I do if a server is full?

Each scenario has multiple servers. Most gameplay features are limited to players on the same server, so be sure to coordinate with your friends and join the same one. Pay close attention to the scenario name and server number!

Since Once Human is a large-scale sandbox survival game, each server has a player limit to ensure smooth gameplay. Full servers will be marked in red and won't allow entry. But if your friend sends you a Special Invitation Code (found on character profile screen), you can still join them.
* Special Invitation Codes have limited uses, so don't wait too long to join your friend!

3.Just landed in the game: Where am I?

Once you're in the game, follow the main story tasks to get your bearings. Lost or confused? Summon V and browse its encyclopedia, or open the in-game survival manual—it's packed with tips to guide you through the early game.

4.Lone wolf or team player? Totally up to you. Also, keep the World feature in mind!

Don't worry, solo players, this world won't force you into parties. You can absolutely clear dungeons and thrive as the coolest lone wolf in the apocalypse!

But veterans, don't be shy! Lend a hand to lost newbies—it's said the bonds formed in Nalcott are stronger than any piece of gear!

Trouble finding your team? You're probably in the wrong World. Use a Teleportation Tower to switch Worlds and meet up. Who knows, your dream home or lucky loot spot might be waiting in another World!

5.Those glowing little creatures are actually powerful Deviations!

As you explore Nalcott, you'll come across Deviations. There are three types of them:
Combat Deviations help out in combat,
Territory Deviations quietly grind resources for you,
and Crafting Deviations are your walking formula books.

Psst... we've even put together a full Deviation Collection Guide. Check it out on the official site or in the community and start building your ultimate collection!

6.End-of-the-world survival means one thing—freedom.

In the apocalypse, there are no rules. Build a sky-high Babylon, run a cozy farm in the wasteland, or charge headfirst into chaos as a loot-hungry Deviant slayer—your playstyle is the only law that matters.

So go ahead, let go of the pressure to grind or chase numbers. No daily chores, no leaderboard pressure. Play your way, at your own pace. Say hi to fellow Metas you meet along the way—you never know when a new friendship will bloom in this wild world!

7.No pay-to-win, no whale wars!

Let's say it again: No stat-based purchases! No stat-based purchases! No stat-based purchases!

You can earn a limited amount of Starchrom each month to steadily upgrade your gear rating. No grind pressure, no fear of falling behind if you miss a few days. Unlocked blueprints of the same rarity and type (weapon/armor) can swap ratings freely, allowing you to try out new combat styles with ease.

But in the end, your true edge in Once Human isn't your gear—it's your experience and mastery. Hone your skills and take on the world like a true Meta!

8.Want to start a new scenario? Or keep exploring? Your call.

Each scenario runs in phases, with a fixed duration per phase. After all phases end, the server enters a settlement period and won't launch new phases. At that point, you're free to sign up for a new scenario, or just keep going in the current one.

Once you sign up for a new scenario, you'll head to a new scenario server and start the challenge all over again! Don't worry if you want to keep playing your current scenario. Those servers will remain open and later be merged with others of the same type to keep them active.

You'll still be able to build, explore, and live your best apocalypse life. No time limit, no rush!

9.Cross-platform pay as smooth as butter!

Your mobile and PC accounts are fully synced—characters, items, progress, the whole package!

Whether you're blasting Deviants with a mouse and keyboard, a controller, or touchscreen controls, your data stays fully connected. It's your end-of-the-world adventure—anytime, anywhere, on any device.

10.Eternaland: Your very own post-apocalyptic paradise!

Need a breather from the scenario grind? Welcome to Eternaland, a special, timeless realm just for you!

Here, you can build on a much larger scale and even invite friends over to hang out or host parties. It's your personal, permanent sanctuary in the apocalypse!

11.Devs have gone mad! They're showering players with launch rewards!

No joke, the dev team has emptied their vaults to celebrate the official release. Right out the gate, you'll get tons of cosmetics just by completing easy events. You can even grab 16 top-tier gear blueprints and 11 advanced Deviations for free—no strings attached. It's the ultimate head start, so don't miss it. Go to the in-game events screen to claim your rewards!

Once Human Version 1.4.4 Bug Fixes (April 22)

Dear Metas,
Since the official release of Once Human version 1.4.4, we have been gathering community feedback and actively addressing your concerns. Here are the latest fixes we have implemented:
1. Fixed an issue where the Hotbar could not be used in Clean Mode under certain conditions.
2. Fixed an issue where server lag would occur when a large number of Metas gathered in the same area.
3. Fixed an issue where some returning Metas were unable to log in properly.
4. Fixed an issue where creating a new character as a returning Meta caused incorrect main/alt account recognition in the cross-character sharing system.
5. Fixed an issue where some Metas on permanent servers could not purify Nova Deviations.
6. Fixed an issue where using the Mrwish Rocket Launcher in Securement Silos EX1 caused abnormal status effects on Sennacherib.
7. Added a dynamic difficulty system for Lunarspawns: Their HP and damage now decrease when fewer Metas are nearby, and they gain enhanced attributes and the ability to summon multiple Deviations when more than 3 Metas are nearby.
8. Made adjustments and fixed issues in Pollution Zones:
1) Fixed an issue where Metas with full Sanity could still be attacked by Fools, and where Fools would continue attacking even when facing a Meta.
2) Improved Fool animation speed; they now fall to the ground instead of instantly blacking out and returning after taking damage, allowing for better combat response.
3) Public Crisis Events will no longer spawn Fools, and their Contamination has been reduced. This change addresses performance issues and aligns with risk-reward design principles.
9. Fixed an issue where item Durability would not update correctly when items were discarded.
10. Fixed an issue where arrows embedded in monsters would not be retrieved when using Auto Take.

Server Selection Guide

Dear Metas,
The mobile version of Once Human will officially launch on April 24, 2025. To help you log in smoothly, we have prepared a visual guide and FAQ.
Launch Times by Region:

Server Access Flowchart:

Frequently Asked Questions:
Q: How do I enter the game?
A: After April 24, 2025 at 8:00 AM, you can quickly enter the game by tapping Log In on the server selection screen.

Q: Which servers can I choose?
A: On the server selection screen, tap More Servers to open the server list and choose a server. We recommend selecting a server from the Novice list. The selection column and description column on the left are as follows:
Novice Servers recommended for beginners. These scenarios have lower difficulty.
Manibus (Novice) List of all novice scenario servers
Manibus, The Way of Winter, Evolution's Call, Prismverse's Clash List of non-novice scenario servers

Q: Why are there so many servers on the server list?
A: The PC version launched on July 10, 2024 and servers are cross-platform, so all previously opened servers are on the list. We recommend joining a newly opened server.
You can also find and join servers that your friends are in, so don't worry about getting separated.

Q: Will there be player caps or server queues?
A: We have prepared enough servers to meet player demand and will promptly address any unexpected issues.
However, to ensure an immersive and balanced experience, we limit the number of players on each server. If a server is full, you can join other recommended servers, or use a friend's invitation code to gain access. Note that the availability of invitation slots is also limited.

Q: What if I joined the wrong server, but have already made purchases?
A: Once Human features multi-character sharing for premium items. Paid items will be synchronized across all characters on your account.

Q: Are there mobile-only servers?
A: On the server selection screen, check the Mobile Only option to display mobile-only servers. Mobile-only servers cannot be accessed on PC, even if you signed up for them using the mobile version.

Below are the new server IDs available during the mobile launch. Subsequent servers will be numbered in sequence.

If you encounter any issues, please reach out to us on social media or the Co-Dev Feedback Platform. Thank you for your support!

1. Is account data shared between mobile and PC?
Absolutely! The upcoming mobile release supports cross-platform data sync with the PC version, allowing you to freely switch between devices. Follow the instructions below for a seamless experience:

2. What are the mobile version's system requirements and how much storage should I prepare?
Check the table below for recommended device specs. If you plan to download all game content, it's advised to reserve 25-30 GB of storage. The game supports partial data downloads so you can prioritize the content you wish to experience first.

Mobile device optimization is still ongoing. Some models may fall short of our target performance for now, so we strongly recommend using a device that meets or exceeds the specs listed above. We'll keep fine‑tuning compatibility to make sure more Metas can enjoy a smooth mobile experience.

3. What UI and control improvements have been made on mobile?
We aim to give mobile players the same high-quality experience as on PC, while tailoring the interface to phone‑friendly gestures. Our guiding principle is "streamlined, never stripped‑down." Here's how we adapted the PC's complex systems for mobile:
1)Dynamic radial menu
Key features, like Backpack and Build, pop up instantly through a radial menu, reducing interface layers.
2)Smart assist
While gathering, the game auto‑suggests the right tool. Nearby loot is picked up automatically. Combat includes gentle aim‑assist with manual fine‑tune. You can enable Auto-Fire (scope‑only or global) so the weapon shoots as soon as your aim locks onto a target.
3)Modular HUD
You can customize the entire layout or hide non‑essential elements to boost immersion.

4. What should I do if the game crashes or won't let me log in?
Crash fixes
Basic checks
1)Close other apps that might be eating memory (video, streaming, etc.).
2)Quit the game completely or restart your phone, then try again.
3)Make sure at least 4 GB of storage (iOS/Android) remains free after installation.
4)On the login screen, tap Compatibility Check. If your model fails, consider upgrading or switching devices.

Advanced checks
1)Game-related repair: On the login screen, tap Repair Client.
2)Clear the game cache:
Android: Settings → Apps → Game → Storage → Clear Cache.
iOS: Delete and reinstall the app (link your account to keep your data).
3)Confirm your OS version: iOS 12 +  / Android 8.0 +  / HarmonyOS 3.0.0 +.
4)Turn off power‑saving mode; it may affect performance.
5)Disable any accelerators or VPNs; they can conflict with the game.
6)Uninstall, clear residual files, and reinstall from the official store.

Login issues
Checks:
1)If you joined an earlier test, delete the old test build first.
2)If you never joined a test, capture a screenshot/video of the error message and note the steps leading up to it.

5. What should I do if the game lags?
1)Performance optimization tips
To improve overall smoothness, fine‑tune these settings:
Lower graphics quality: Settings → Graphics → select "Battery Saver" or "Smooth."
Disable effects: Settings → Graphics → adjust "Special Effect Toggle", "Shadow Quality", and "Other Players."
Cap the frame rate: Settings → Graphics → set FPS cap to "Low" or "Medium."
Adjust resolution: Settings → Graphics → set Resolution to "Low" or "Medium," or enable Adaptive Graphics.
2)Device and system optimizations
The following device and system optimization steps can also help improve performance:
Thermal management: Avoid playing while charging and consider using a cooling attachment for your phone.
Disable system animations: In developer options, adjust window and transition animation scales to 0.5x or turn them off completely.
Update drivers and OS: Ensure you're using the latest version of your phone's operating system.
3)Network checks
Lag can also be network‑related. Try the following steps:
Switch networks: Alternate between Wi‑Fi/4G/5G.
Latency check: If in‑game ping > 100 ms, consider using a network accelerator.

6. Where can I send feedback or get support when I encounter issues?
If you encounter any issues or have suggestions, contact us via the feedback channel or in‑game Customer Support (see the screenshot below for its location). Thank you for your understanding and support.
