Once Human continues to stand strong as the hottest new survival game on Steam right now. The free game continues trading places with Rust as the most-played option on the Valve store, and Once Human update 1.3.1 is about to drop a whole heap of additional improvements and upgrades as the ongoing Way of Winter season continues. Developer Starry Studio is continuing to polish bugs and deliver fixes, and its next patch is introducing several new features and key changes, including a big upgrade to Once Human animal taming.

Version 1.3.1 Update Announcement

Dear Metas,

We're planning a server maintenance and update on November 7 at 12:00 noon (UTC+8). The maintenance is expected to last about 4 hours. Please plan your game time accordingly for the best experience.
Since the official launch of Once Human, we've been closely monitoring feedback from the community and working on fixes and optimizations.
This update includes a brand-new event, Battle Pass III, a Season Calendar, and major optimizations to the Prismverse's Clash scenario.
Note: Unless otherwise stated, all times in this announcement refer to local server times.

Below are the details of this update.

[h3]Server Optimizations[/h3]
1. Optimized server performance to reduce latency when many players are assembled in the same place, such as when fighting Chaosweavers.
* We will continue to optimize and adjust server performance. Please continue to send us your feedback.
2. In certain regions, we are piloting a new network protocol that is expected to improve latency issues on some servers. If the pilot test is successful, we will roll out the new protocol to the other regions and servers.

[h3]Prismverse's Clash Optimizations[/h3]
In response to your feedback, we have been working to resolve various issues with the Prismverse's Clash scenario. This update includes optimizations to Public Crisis Events and Prism Deviation drop rates. More optimizations will be delivered in the next update on November 21.
Changed the following Public Crisis Events:
1. Removed Dig to Hell from Phase 1.
2. Moved Sproutlet Conquest to Phase 1.

[h3]Adjusted Prism Deviation spawn time and quantity, and added more ways for individual players to get Prism Deviations:[/h3]
1. Changed the Prism Deviation spawn time from 18:00 to 20:00 (server time).
2. Increased the number of Prism Deviations spawned at 20:00 (server time) to 100.
3. Changed the spawn frequency of Berserkosaurus Rex and Radiant One to once every 24 hours.
4. Added the following ways of obtaining Prism Deviations in contest areas: weapon crates, gear crates, and gathering plants.
5. Reduced the chance of obtaining Prism Deviations from fishing in contest areas.

[h3]Gameplay Rules Optimizations[/h3]
Players with the same score in Prismverse's Clash will now all receive the highest tier of rewards they are eligible for.

[h3]New Livestock Animals[/h3]
The following animals can now be tamed as livestock: Wild Buffalo, Polar Bear, Snow Fox, Fox, Snapping Turtle, and Sea Turtle.
Randomized patterns for the above animals will be added in a future update. The patterns of existing tamable animals will not be affected.


[h3]New Feature – Season Calendar[/h3]
We have added a Season Calendar feature to let you check the game's schedule at a glance. On the calendar, you'll be able to view upcoming scenario openings, game updates, and events, as well as subscribe to notifications for the latest news.

[h3]New Event – Wish Land Party[/h3]
In a region of turbulent spacetime, a peculiar Eternaland has appeared—and it seems like there's a party going on there! Grab your friends and join the autumn celebration together!
Wish Land Party is accessible from the Events screen. Once there, you can invite your friends to join you via the event interface.
Event Period: November 7 (after the maintenance) – November 18, 6:00 AM


[h3]H37 Unstable S-Vessel Phase II[/h3]
This event is now available in The Way of Winter (after reaching Phase 3) with a new series of exclusive Snowy Realm tasks.
The update also adds Phase II of 'Nutcracker' Morphed Deviations to nurture, with a total of nine new variants including two rare colors!
You can freely choose which phase you want to nurture and collect!


[h3]New Shop Arrivals[/h3]
1. New Battle Pass: Sailor's Spirit (available from November 7, after the maintenance)
"Set sail and begin your nautical voyage!"

A new Battle Pass theme featuring the 'Sailor's Spirit' fashion set (Epic), 'Gemmed - DE.50' weapon skin (Epic), 'Undersea Memories' Cradle skin (Epic), and many other exciting cosmetics.
Optimized the Battle Pass screen. You can now switch to a preview of your character holding the selected weapon from the Details panel.


2. Lightforge Loot Crate: Urban Oddities (available from November 8, 10:00 AM)
"I control the future, and the world moves to my command."
A new Lightforge Loot Crate is available for a limited time! This 'Urban Oddities'-themed crate consists of three rounds and includes the 'Doomsday Dominator' fashion set (Legendary), 'Abyssal Mirror' Cradle skin (Legendary), and 'LCD TV' interactive furniture formula (Epic).
* Lightforge Loot Crate: Cloud Command will no longer be available after November 7, 6:00 AM.


3. New Arrivals: The 'Boundary Breaker' fashion set (Rare) will be available for purchase with this update. Don't be afraid to be yourself!
Also arriving are the 'Peninsula' hairstyle (Epic) and various Rare individual pieces. For more details, check out Shop > Cosmetics in the game.

1. Fixed an issue where Medium Frame Ⅵ could not be interacted with.
2. Fixed an issue that allowed Thermal Towers to be built in water.
3. Fixed an issue that caused Ram byproducts to be incorrect.
4. Fixed an issue where Butter was missing from the Memetics in The Way of Winter.
5. Added a new fish pheromone formula: Large Freshwater Pheromone.
6. Fixed an issue where ziplines in some areas would be obstructed by rocks.
7. Corrected the 'Acquired from' descriptions for the Light Grip and Guardian Front Grip.
8. Fixed an issue where gaps would sometimes appear in the ceilings of territory buildings.
9. Fixed an issue where visual effects in the 'Surge of Fish' Public Crisis Event would be too bright.
10. Fixed an issue where the game would lag when viewing animal details in the Backpack.
11. Fixed an issue where the boss would not move in the Secret Servitor dungeon.
12. Fixed an issue where sharing Thermal Tower permissions with teammates would sometimes fail to take effect.
13. Fixed an issue where a message would incorrectly state that a facility could not be demolished because other objects were placed on it.
14. Fixed an issue where dish categories and effects did not match up at cooking facilities.
15. Fixed an issue where Dried Seaweed would still spoil, contrary to the description of the Air-Dried effect.
16. Fixed an issue where animal younglings would not become adults even after their Maturity was at the maximum.
17. Fixed an issue where livestock animals would consume too much or too little food while the player was offline.
18. Fixed an issue where Stardust Mining Facilities could not gather Stardust in Pollution Zones.
19. Fixed an issue where Thermal Tower tips would sometimes not disappear when the player was in a dungeon.
20. Fixed an issue where an error popup would be triggered when opening the drops interface of a dead livestock animal.
21. Fixed an issue where quick-switching ammunition types would fail when using a crossbow.

34. Fixed an issue where colorless enemies would not disappear after defeating the Messenger in Securement Silo - Taurus on Hard or Pro difficulty.
35. Fixed an issue where Deviation Energy Generators built after learning the 'Heat Dissipation' Memetic Specialization would produce too much electricity.
36. Fixed an issue where players would sometimes be unable to enter a dungeon even after completing the corresponding Rift Anchor activation task.
37. Fixed an issue causing a gap at the door and window frames of 'Textured Cement Door Frame Wall - Misty Purple' and 'Cement Window Wall - Misty Purple Ⅱ.'
39. Fixed an issue where withdrawing then re-depositing a Deviation into a Secure Unit would cause the Deviation's Securement Environment to lose effect. If you encounter this issue, try removing and re-placing any items that affect the Deviation's Securement Environment.

Version 1.3 Bug Fixes:November 6

Dear Metas,

Since the official release of Once Human version 1.3, we have been gathering community feedback and actively addressing your concerns with adjustments and fixes.
In particular, we have received a lot of feedback regarding animals, so we would like to first highlight these issues in a separate section.

The following fixes have been implemented:
1. Fixed an issue that caused Ram byproducts to be incorrect.
2. Fixed an issue where animal younglings would not become adults as expected.
3. Fixed an issue where non-capturable animals were incorrectly labeled as being capturable.
4. Fixed some issues with incorrect animal attributes. We will also continue to fix any wrong data causing these issues.
5. Fixed an issue where some animals had missing trait attributes. We will continue to restore missing traits to other affected animals.
6. Fixed an issue where Ewes would disappear in certain situations.

We are working on urgent fixes for the following issues and will provide updates in an official announcement soon:
1. Issue where animals consume a large amount of water.
2. Issue where animals incorrectly produce Rock Wall Wool.
3. Issue affecting livestock animals' feeding behavior.
4. Issue where some animal younglings would lose attributes after becoming adults.

Pup Buddy, Upper World Spawn, and Festering Gel in The Way of Winter
These Deviations cannot be obtained in The Way of Winter. However, we did not update the season description accordingly. The description will be fixed in the next update.
Unable to Gather Water in Pollution Zones
Our investigations have shown that the inability to gather water in Pollution Zones is caused by both bugs and design issues. Facilities gather different resources in various environments, which sometimes leads to a lack of clarity in what items can be obtained. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.
1. We will continue to verify player feedback, fix the relevant bugs, and update you via official announcements.
2. We plan to simplify and update the functionality of gathering facilities to give players more freedom in choosing what to produce.

Here are the other issues we have fixed:
1. Fixed an issue where Ewes would disappear in certain situations.
2. Fixed several issues that would cause the Secret Servitor to disappear during its light phase.
3. Fixed an issue where the Super Anomaly 'Phase - Ghoul' in Securement Silo - PSI would sometimes blink outside the stage, where they could not be killed. We have removed its blink ability for now and will reinstate it after making the required changes.
4. Fixed an issue where NPCs in cut scenes would sometimes not be generated.
5. Fixed an issue where the 'Surge of Fish' Public Crisis Event in northwest Onyx Tundra would take place in an area with little water coverage.
6. Fixed an issue where materials in crates could not be used for building or crafting in certain situations.
7. Fixed an issue where areas underneath lava in Fire Throat Sanctum would incorrectly cause the player to die.
8. Fixed an issue where the Minimalist Plaster Pillar Balcony from the 'Romantic Misty Purple Street' building panel pack had no collision effect.
9. Fixed the issues where Chaosium Spray's area of effect was overly large and, when killed by Chaosium Spray, the cause of death was wrongly shown as burning lava.
10. Changed the crafting materials for Fertilizer - Yield Boost, Fertilizer - Breeding Boost, Fertilizer - Growth Boost, and Fertilizer - Mutation Boost. Players can now choose what materials to use when crafting these items.
11. Fixed an issue where the 'Growshroom' Deviation did not yield any items after being gathered.
12. Fixed an issue where the marker for the 'Decapitation Strike' task was not visible to some players.
13. Fixed an issue where the Thermal Tower's 'Chaosium Chemistry' tech would not take effect in rare cases.
14. Fixed an issue where players could not talk to T-Man in the simplified version of 'The Burden of Betrayal' task in The Way of Winter.
15. Fixed an issue where the 'Open the crate in Hales' Moving House' season goal in The Way of Winter could not be completed.
16. Fixed an issue where the 'Lethal Rabbit' Deviation would not be dropped in Securement Silo - SIGMA.
17. Fixed an issue where the Secret Servitor would sometimes get stuck and not move during its second phase.
18. Fixed an issue where mods from Mod Self-Selection Crates dropped in some Hard dungeons would be inconsistent with the crate's description.

Since the official release of Once Human version 1.3, we have been gathering community feedback and actively addressing your concerns. Here are the latest fixes we have implemented or are actively working on:

1. Fixed abnormal lighting effects within the interface.
2. Fixed an issue where Deviations redeemed on Eternaland were not properly added to the wilderness backpack.
3. Fixed an issue where, after learning the Specialization [Deviant Power Generator: Energy Extraction], the crafted Deviation Energy Generator's power output in Pollution Zones was abnormally high.
4. We've identified an issue with some hard-level dungeons where the dropped selectable mod crate gives mods that don't match their descriptions. We'll be fixing this issue tomorrow.
5. Fixed an issue where some Specializations caused Raw Chaosium production to fail.
6. Fixed an issue preventing interaction with the Phantom Mirage on Eternaland.
7. Fixed an issue where the octopus claw model could cause players to get stuck.
8. Fixed an issue where photos couldn't be uploaded to the photo frame in certain situations.
9. Fixed an issue where the Draw Slash skill of the Fabled Masamune didn't work in Quick Melee.
10. Fixed an issue where Thermal Towers could be placed in deep water.
11. Fixed an issue where the Auto Mining and Stardust Mining Platforms couldn't mine certain minerals. If issues persist, try repositioning the platforms.
12. Fixed an issue where Thermal Towers couldn't adjust temperature.
13. Fixed abnormal camera rotation in some dialogues.
14. Fixed a cutscene error in the Treant dungeon of The Way of Winter scenario.
15. Adjusted the Thermal Tower recycling rules: inactive Thermal Towers will now be recycled.
16. Fixed an issue where voice-over continued after skipping dialogue in the Decapitation Strike task.
17. Fixed a lip-sync issue in the Decapitation Strike task cutscene.
18. Fixed an issue where lava buffs couldn't be removed upon respawn after death by lava in The Way of Winter.
19. Fixed an issue in the Fatal Signal Public Crisis Event where simultaneous repairs by multiple players could stall event progression.
20. Added a report feature for Thermal Towers: players can now report a Thermal Tower by hovering over its icon on the world map.
21. Fixed an issue where Territory Purification and Workshop Defense facilities were easily destroyed by Deviants in some situations, causing gameplay failure.
22. Fixed an issue in The Way of Winter where players couldn't properly teleport or fish in the Surge of Fish Public Crisis Event in Onyx Tundra - Sea of Floating Ice area.
23. Fixed an issue where mod crates gave identical attributes for identical mods.
*Mods added to the backpack are actually randomly generated and not identical.
24. Fixed missing attributes on Calibration Blueprints on Eternaland. If the issue persists, you may contact in-game customer service for assistance.
25. Fixed some abnormal attributes for livestock animals. We will progressively fix any abnormal attributes.

Since the official release of Once Human version 1.3, we have been gathering community feedback and actively addressing your concerns. Here are the latest fixes we are working on or have completed:

Here are the fixes we're working on:

1. We've discovered an issue where mod crates show identical attributes when opened. After investigation, we learned that the mods added to your backpack are randomized, not identical. This will be fixed in a future update.
2. The missing Killer Rabbit drop in Securement Silo - SIGMA will be addressed in a future update.
3. We are currently addressing the missing calibration blueprints attributes on Eternaland. We expect to fix this for affected Metas starting on October 24.

Here are the fixes we have completed:

1. Fixed an issue with the Chaosium Lantern's Raw Chaosium consumption efficiency.
2. Fixed an issue where the speed was too fast after exiting the zipline state.
3. Fixed an issue where players couldn't initiate Territory Purification in certain situations.
4. Fixed an issue where Deviations would incorrectly perceive the environment in certain situations.
5. Fixed an issue where multiple players teleporting simultaneously to Camp Igloo could get stuck upon landing.
6. Fixed an issue in The Way of Winter scenario where players could not apply to join teams entering Rift Space from the team screen.
7. There was a bug causing loss of event reward mail on Eternaland. To address this, reward mails will now be automatically sent to your scenario mailbox when you are on Eternaland. Any lost rewards due to this bug will be reissued. If you experience any loss, please contact in-game customer service for assistance.
8. Fixed an issue where some sets couldn't be repaired.
9. Fixed an issue where the Rare Epic Fashion Set "Raven Strike" lost its Rare tag after the last update.
