[h3]Whisker Squadron: Survivor Holiday Sale[/h3]
Get your copy of Whisker Squadron: Survivor at the best price for a while! From December 19th to January 1st, our holiday sale on Steam will let you pick up the game for yourself (or for a friend)!

Note: In this update, you may notice that the story progression that happens in the hangar starts back at the beginning with this update. We've updated the game's narrative significantly and this was a necessary change to avoid breaking certain things, but it may look a little confusing if you are playing on an old save.

[h3]NEW FEATURES/CONTENT:[/h3]
  • Added lots of new story content and dialog (primarily updates to the first part of Olivia's story). Get ready to dive deeper into Olivia's world and uncover more twists and turns in her journey.
  • "?" nodes now give random rewards. The thrill of uncertainty is back! Who knows what you’ll uncover as you explore.
  • Added a new "progress meter" system for several unlocks. Now you can track your progress in real-time and celebrate those milestones as you unlock new features.
  • Rerolls are back! You can reroll once per level up - for a VP cost. If the upgrades aren’t to your liking, try your luck again and see what you get next.


[h3]CHANGES/IMPROVEMENTS:[/h3]
  • Moved "Invert Y" option to default options screen to make it easier to find. Now, it’s more accessible.
  • Changed how new characters are unlocked. The process is now smoother and more rewarding, so you can unlock characters with ease.
  • Adjusted VP prices for most perks. We’ve fine-tuned the prices to give you better access to perks without breaking the bank.
  • Reduced maximum effect of Longevity Enhancer to 50%. This change will keep things balanced while still allowing you to enjoy the benefits of the Longevity Enhancer.


[h3]BUG FIXES:[/h3]
  • Fixed bug that prevented "Scrap limit" challenge from properly unlocking.
  • Fixed bugs that prevented unlocking the Pulse Laser.
  • Fixed bug where boss chunks could damage the ship.
  • Fixed bug with Combo Missile Booster where it could trigger multiple times per zone.
  • Fixed a visual FX bug related to invincibility powerup that made your ship disappear.


[h3]UPCOMING[/h3]
  • Complete story that progresses throughout each run. Look forward to even more story content that keeps you hooked as you advance.
  • VO for conversations during the action. We’re adding voiceovers to make in-game dialogue more dynamic and immersive.
  • Lots of balance and tuning (especially in act 3). Expect even more fine-tuning to ensure the game remains challenging and enjoyable.

0.72.1 Released.

Meowdy, fellow pilots! Version 0.72.1 is live, and we’ve made some substantial changes to map progression and balancing while also finding time to add some additional items.

[h3]Map Updates[/h3]
Let’s start from the top. We got a lot of feedback asking for more substantial options along the map pathways.

Our amazing mechanic Petey has now added a significant number of additions to his shop. Now, when you visit one of his nodes you can have some of these options appear;
  • Max upgrade: either an item you currently own or a random unowned one
  • Max upgrade your Primary or Secondary Weapon
  • Unlock revive or rerolls for your current run
  • Unlock a new Primary Weapon



[h3]New Weapons[/h3]
After maxing out your Primary Weapon level in a run, the next time you meet Petey, he’ll offer one of 3 new weapons. You can also level these up even further during a run!


[h3]Cursed Choices[/h3]
We know that when Cursed Choices came out, we got a lot of mixed feedback, but it was clear that changes were needed. We continued to tweak and work on them update after update, listening to feedback along the way. With this update, we are excited to announce another change to help Cursed Choices feel significantly more exciting.

Now, each curse lasts a set number of rounds and offers a new item in exchange for picking them that last for the duration of your run. These items range from powerful augments to items that the Swarm can drop when defeated.

Fixed a handful of issues, most notably some related to Tight Boosts.

[h3]New Items[/h3]
We've added a variety of powerful new items to the game, including enhancements for deflection, Tight Boosting, and energy management. You'll also find new ways to increase your missile and weapon damage, as well as a new Bomb Drone that brings explosive power to your arsenal.

[h3]Improved Gameplay[/h3]
Leveling up has been refined for a smoother experience, and several existing items have received significant improvements. Plus, item tooltips are now available in the UI, giving you quick access to important information during gameplay.

To make things even better, we've introduced a new Spin Dodge move, allowing for greater lateral maneuverability during intense moments.

We've reworked combat and enemies to make gameplay more fun and engaging. Lower enemy health in Acts 2 and 3 and more consistent Action Zones ensure fairer fights, and enemy spawning has been adjusted.

Combat just got a major upgrade! Enjoy increased damage and damage upgrades for the Gatling Gun and Burst Blaster.

- Lowered health values of some enemies in Act 2 and Act 3.
- Made the duration of Action Zones more consistent.
- Limited the amount of Sniper Drones and Missile Tanks that are able to fire at the same time.
- Prevent too many of one enemy type from spawning at the same time.
- Tight Boosts now reset combo timer.
- Certain groups of enemies have varied spawn and wave amounts.
- General balance to enemies based on player feedback.
