Today's patch introduces a stronger backend system for the game, this brings in improved security and modernized features. At this time, Town of Salem 2 is now using Lootlocker.

• [p]What is happening exactly with Town of Salem games & Loot Locker?[/p]
  • [p]We are moving to a stronger backend system that has better systems, better security, and more modern features. At this time Town of Salem 2 is now using LootLocker. Stay tuned for future announcements & updates on other LootLocker implementations.[/p]
• [p]What is a video game backend system?[/p]
  • [p]The backend is the framework that allows the game to work, including login, authorization, security, accounts, inventory, transactions, history, and more. [/p]
• [p]Why is this happening? [/p]
  • [p]We have been striving to improve the overall systems for the Town of Salem games and this is part of that plan.[/p]
• [p]What will this do?[/p]
  • [p]This update will give us better tools for moderation, player accounts, player history, and helps ensure we can continue to improve your experience.[/p]
• [p]What will change from my player perspective?[/p]
  • [p]You may notice improved moderation, more streamlined support & other improvements that are brought on through this update. Otherwise, you should have relatively the same in-game experience. We're continuing to explore & implement more ways to reduce lag.[/p]
• [p]Do I need to do anything?[/p]
  • [p]Nope! This update does not require any action from individual players.[/p]
• [p]What if I have a problem with my Town of Salem account after this change?[/p]
  • [p]In the event you have an account issue after this change takes effect, please contact us via the official Town of Salem games Discord by opening a ModMail ticket (instructions within the FAQ channel) OR reach out to us through the support email ([email protected]). [/p]

• [p]Friend Referrals now use a unique code found in the in-game settings menu instead of your username[/p]
• [p]This update will go live on mobile platforms in approximately 30 minutes (if there are no major issues)[/p]

Please check back to announcement channels for any further updates regarding this. Hey Townies! This patch brings in some moderation improvements, including hardware bans for ban evaders.[/p][p][/p][p]Please review the patch notes below ⤵️ [/p][p] [/p][p][/p][p][/p]

• [p]Made several improvements to backend reporting tools[/p]
• [p]Updated to Unity 2022.3.63f2[/p]

• [p]Fixed a bug allowing Coven Leader to retrain any player into any role[/p]
• [p]Fixed special characters allowing users to spam the chat with walls of spaces (Note: This initial fix went live on January 14, 2026 after a server restart & all users who abused this exploit have been banned)[/p]

[/p][p]Lance here, sharing some important updates for Town of Salem games.
[/p][p]Over the past several months, we’ve been focused on a range of behind-the-scenes improvements aimed at enhancing the overall experience. The process has required rethinking how core gameplay translates to new control schemes, more player options, and more communication options. While this has presented challenges, we’re committed to ensuring the experience remains intuitive and engaging across all currently supported devices as well as future devices. For now, we can say that the console versions of Town of Salem 2 will not be coming out in 2025.
[/p][p]We’re also working hard on new ways to connect you with more players via other platforms. We will keep you posted on our progress so stay tuned for more announcements on the horizon, but in the meantime, we hope you all have an amazing holiday break.
[/p][p]Please note that the Digital Bandidos team is on holiday for the remainder of the year after today. We'll still be checking in periodically.
