Patch B.0.1.16 - 07/27/2023

Another patch, and this one comes with a ton of new game mode modifiers for you all to try out in custom!

New Game Modifier Cards

• Perfect Town - The Perfect Town modifier causes all Town members to die if a Town member is hanged.
• Slow Mode and Fast Mode modifier - Effects the amount of time players have for discussion and voting.
• Anonymous Voting - Anonymous Voting makes all votes anonymous when voting a player to the stand, and when the results are revealed.
• Secret Killers - Secret Killers prevents the role of the killer from being revealed when a player is killed.
• Hidden roles - Hidden Roles prevents a player's role from being revealed when they die.
• One Trial - The One Trial modifier will limit the amount of Trials that can be held per day to one.

Twitch Integration

• Head on over to the new Twitch section of the Settings menu to connect your game with Twitch
• With your Twitch stream connected to your game client, your viewers can now participate and help you decide who to vote for during voting phases and trials!

Bug Fixes and Improvements

• New cinematic for players killed by the Necronomicon.
• Players can no longer enter a reserved character name (such as John Proctor) during the Pick Names phase.
• Fixed spelling and grammar errors.
• Fixed styling on many spy feedback messages.
• Pressing the Escape key while in Shop will now properly open/close the Settings popup.
• Opening the Add Friend popup during a game will now show their in-game name rather than the invitee’s account name.
• Fixed issue where sending a whisper would always process the message through a profanity filter, regardless of whether you have Chat Filtering enabled in Settings.
• Fixed the NotoSans font so that switching between Berylium and NotoSans at the same font size (ie: Normal) does not have significant differences in the text size displayed.

Experimental Features

• Use commandline args to try experimental client features:
» In steam, you can right click Town of Salem 2 > Properties > Launch Options.
» Enter --args --newchat to turn on our experimental improved chat system.
» Enter --args --asynclogin to turn on our experimental login system.

» Enter "--args --newchat" without the quotes to turn on our experimental improved chat system.
» Enter "--args --asynclogin" without the quotes to turn on our experimental login system.

VIP Change

• When a neutral evil kills a VIP it will now kill all of the town members.

Improvements

• Clarified that visiting a target with Pestilence gives a stack of Pestilence on Pestilence's role card.
• Clarified that War will attack a jailor that jails them on War's role card.
• Clarified that Amnesiac prioritizes remembering Town Power roles on the Remember keyword.
• Added Pestilence keyword that explains how the pestilence disease mechanics works.

Bug Fixes

• A copy of the player being targeted by the Hangman will no longer be seen during the Hangman cinematic.
• The game will no longer crash when 2 deputies shoot a horsemen.
• Fixed a bug where a deputy or prosecutor could attempt to use their day ability on a player that was killed that day.
• Banned roles displayed in popup roles list will no longer display an invalid html tag.
• Adjusted font weights, drop shadows, etc. throughout the game that had inadvertently changed a bit due to a recent upgrade of our text system.
• Fixed the size of the Submit button and label on the pick names UI.
• Fixed the description of Black Cat pet in the Shop.

Keep the feedback coming! The chat should feel more similar to how it previously was. We are still working through some issues with the different fonts though.

Plaguebearer/Pestilence Rework

• Plaguebearer's night priority increased above base priority. This allows PB to visit before most roles in the game and spread plague before other roles visit. This change should increase the rate of plague spreading as well as making it more consistent.
• Pestilence, Horsemen of the Apocalypse no longer has a direct attack, does not rampage, and does not attack players that visit them.
• When Pestilence emerges all plague on players will transform into pestilence.
• When a player visits someone they will spread a stack of pestilence.
• When a player visits Pestilence they will spread a stack of pestilence onto themselves.
• When Pestilence visits someone they will add the maximum stacks of pestilence to their target.
• At 3 stacks of pestilence a player will succumb to pestilence and die.
• Horsemen cannot have more than 1 stack of pestilence applied to them.

Other Role Improvements

• Arsonist will now douse the jailor that jails them.
• Werewolf scent tracking messages now indicate which player they are tracking.
• War is now roleblock immune.
• War will now attack a Jailor that jails them.

Role Card Ability Tracker Improvements

Ability trackers help roles keep track of certain actions happening a certain number of times:
• Serial Killer - Now has a tracker to keep track of their Bloodlust.
• Berserker - Now has a tracker for how many kills they have.
• Soul Collector - Now has a tracker for how many souls they have collected.
• Pirate - Now has a tracker for how many plunders they have.

General Improvements

• Horsemen now get new Rolecard Silhouettes when they transform.
• Improved the animation of the character during the Iron Maiden death animation.
• Added a sound effect to the Iron Maiden.
• Updated Seer Gaze ability description to say it cannot target revealed Town members.
• Berserker and War role cards updated to mention that War can target two players.
• Shroud rolecard and related mentions updated to more thoroughly explain how the shroud mechanic works.
• Updated the VIP keyword and game mode modifier descriptions to state that Amnesiac and Trickster cannot be the VIP.
• Updated the Potion Master reveal potion description of the Spy.
• Updated the feedback message the Admirer gets when it fails. It now mentions that it could have failed because you were already involved in a proposal. Previously this only mentioned that your target was already involved in a proposal.
• Account names and positions are no longer shown in mentions during the Pick Names phase. Only in-game player names and positions (after a player has picked their name) will now be shown and usable in mentions during Pick Names.
• Small tweak to Game Mode description panel size and layout.
• Updated Plaguebearer and Trapper achievements.

Bug Fixes

• Fixed an issue in personalization where if you previewed a death animation then changed your selected character and went back to preview the death animation, your old character selection would be present.
• Fixed an issue where Samuel the Old Priest would not play their hanging sound.
• Fixed an issue that caused a person who was voted innocent to incorrectly swing from the gallows at the start of the next trial.
• Fixed an issue that caused the various props Characters are holding to behave improperly when that Character is hanged.
• Added some missing click sounds to menu items on Home screen.
