New Champion Preview : Seraphine - Avenger Persona!

We introduced her Celestial Persona in a previous post, today we are looking at her Avenger Persona.[/p][p]Let's dive into her story, her actions and her relics![/p][p][/p]

[hr][/hr][p]Seraphine Avenger introduces a new mechanic to the game: her primary action's damage increases based on her missing health. She will retaliate strongly against enemies who attacked her but were not able to eliminate her. And beware... she can even sacrifice some health points to reinforce herself! Relics

[/p][p]This Relic makes Seraphine tankier and enables her to lose more health points without dying to further increase the damage of her primary action. It will also increase her chances to survive from Immolation.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]This Relic further reinforces Seraphine's core loop (take damage --> generate buffs to retaliate harder). It provides a teamwide buff and synergises very well with Champions who benefit from Impact tokens, such as Bu Shin Thunder Warrior⚡ and Bu Shin Shadow Assassin🐈‍⬛.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]Kamikaze Seraphine! Her ultimate action becomes very scary with 90 base damage. Eliminating allies as collateral damage becomes less of an issue as they will respawn instantly. [p][/p][p]Our intention with this Persona has been to create a long-range Champion who can act both as a support and a damage dealer. She is very versatile, as she can heal her allies, remove negative tokens, boost their damage and grant them extra ultimate charges, while dealing AoE damage. However, with only 120 health points, she is a very fragile Champion that you will have to position carefully! Relics
[h3][/h3][p][/p][p]The Angelic Convertor reinforces Seraphine's role as a mage & support, helping her team to cast ultimate actions more often. It synergizes with her primary action. Combine this relic with another source of healing (Aiden, Raine Life Mage...) and Champions with powerful ultimate actions (Daerio, Na Jima...) and you probably have a very strong comp![/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]New mechanic! With the Felden Crystals, damage dealt by your team will scale based on the number of Victory Points scored through Pillars since the beginning of the game. Capture Pillars, make sure you keep them under your control, scale your damage potential and end the game wiping up the enemy team![/p][p]This Relic is great if you want Seraphine to provide teamwide damage buff, but there's a more selfish option...[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]Same principle as the previous Relic, but this time the whole bonus goes to Seraphine! She will scale twice as fast and can become the super carry of your team. If you want the Angelic Queen to shine, this is the one to pick.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]With the Selene Gauntlets, her secondary action Blinding Blast can also buff your team, especially on the first round when your whole team is packed. Later in the game, you will probably face some important decisions: do I apply Exposed tokens and deal some small damage to the enemy team, or do I grant Critical tokens to some of my Champions to increase their damage and gain some special bonus effects?   • [p]Supreme Verdict (ultimate action): no longer replaces positive tokens by their opposites. Now applies Lifedrain token.[/p]
[p]We are nerfing Aiden Inquisitor's damage on his primary action to bring it more in line with other primary actions. Also, the previous effect of Supreme Verdict would just nullify compositions which are based on using positive tokens, which was not healthy. He now applies one negative token which was not very present in the game, and synergises with his secondary and primary actions.[/p][p][/p][h3]Vallya Commander 🏳️[/h3]
  • [p]With Me! (primary action): Vallya now charges toward her target (1-3 range) before dealing damage and gaining 1 Impact token.[/p]
  • [p]For the Kingdom (ultimate action): now grants Besieger to all allies.[/p]
[p]Vallya Commander was lacking tools to gap close enemies. Playing her should feel much better now![/p][p][/p][h2]UX Improvements[/h2]
  • [p]Added a tooltip explaining how shield points work, which is automatically displayed when hovering on a spell or an item mentioning shields.[/p]
  • [p]In mission #4, the mission description now displays the current wave and the total number of waves: 1/3, 2/3 or 3/3. [/p]
  • [p]The correct character model for Vallya Commander is now used in the intro and outro scenes of mission #12.[/p]
  • [p]Improved the intro scene of mission #8.[/p]
  • [p]Improved the outro scenes of missions #7 and #10.[/p]

  • [p]The Edit Team and Back buttons now work properly in Arena mode after clicking on Play again at the end of a game.[/p]
  • [p]Using Drain Bot on a target with shield now properly grants shield points to the closest ally.[/p]
  • [p]The current number of charges on Relics with charges (Next!, Inquisitorial Rosette and Ascending Bow) is now displayed properly. [/p]

Patch Notes - Quality Of Life Update - v0.9.4

  • [p]We have added the combat log on the bottom right hand side of the screen during battles.[/p]
  • [p]The combat log keeps track of all actions and interactions during battle: actions used, activation of a Relic's effect, movements, Pillar capture, ultimate charges gains...[/p]
  • [p]You can scroll upwards while hovering on the combat log to review a previous event.[/p]

  • [p]During a Campaign mission, you can now press Escape and hit the Restart button to restart the mission with the same team directly.
