Happy New Year!

I have finally implemented Steam Community Items: So now you can collect Pawperty Damage trading cards, craft badges and be rewarded with unique emoticons and profile backgrounds!

There are a total of 12 trading cards, 2 for each character—including the DLC characters, Nikki and Cobalt.

Here is an overview of all items you can collect:
Profile Badges

Emoticons

Profile Backgrounds
Patch Notes (v1.5.3)
Fixes
• Linux: Fixed main menu background video
 • Photo Mode: Eyes for custom characters are now poseable (if eyes are rigged to bones)
 • Nikki & Cobalt: Fixed radius of stomp hit boxes
 • Cobalt: Corrected bite offset for eating animation

Character DLCs Release | Custom Character Animation Options!

Announcing the release of two character DLCs, as well as Version 1.5.1, which brings an update to the custom character configuration tools that allow tweaking animation behavior!

Characeter DLCs Release

Meet Cobalt and Nikki—with these two DLCs you can have them guest-star in Pawperty Damage!

These DLCs are collaborations with my two friends, Mannikobunneh and KTqtpi!
New DLC Pose Options
In addition to unlocking one new character, each DLC also unlocks three new options for the pose settings, in Photo Mode.

Those poses/animations can also be used for any of the other characters, in the game, including custom characters (for custom characters your mileage may vary, however, depending on body proportions and such!)
Check out the Cobalt and Nikki store pages and trailers, to see these animations in action!

Custom Character Animation Options

[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]
(*Note: All characters shown in this video are examples of custom character models—they are not available in the game, or the Steam Workshop.)

The Custom Character Configurator has been upgraded to version 1.2, an now comes with options that adjust how a custom character will animate:

 • Peaceful Walk: Adjust the style of the character's walking animation, when 'peaceful'.
 • Aggressive Posture: Adjust the character's posture, while attacking. Can be set to be identical to the posture when peaceful (i.e. the character won't be hunching over when attacking.)
 • Aggressive Face: Adjust facial expression to use, while attacking. Change this if you want your character to look happy when smashing, stomping, etc. (requires facial expressions to be set up.)

This feature will come in handy, especially when setting up more human-like or feminine characters, for whom the default animation behavior might look very out-of-place!
Installation
If you already have a Unity project setup with an older version of the Character Configurator, simply re-import the Unity Package from the latest version of the game, overwriting the existing installation of the tool. If the installation was successful, it should say "Version 1.2" in the top right corner of the Configurator window.
You find the Unity Package of the tool, in the game's installation directory, at...
...\Pawperty Damage_Data\StreamingAssets\Characters\CharacterConfigurator.unitypackage

Don't forget to check the same folder for the PDF guide of how to import custom characters into the game, or check the Steam guide, here.

Happy Holidays!

Version 1.5 | Pose Feature

[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]
Poses

In Photo Mode, there is now a new options menu that gives you control over the character's pose!
You can select from four pre-defined poses:
 • Wave
 • Peace Sign
 • Flex
 • Sit
(To cancel a pose, simply select the same option again, or trigger an attack.)

Happy/Angry Facial Expressions

In the pose options menu, you can also change the facial expression of the character!

Characters will now also change expressions during regular gameplay: Every time they attack, their expression switches to angry.

Note: These facial expressions will only work for custom characters that have set up their 'angry' and 'joy' blend shape expressions, during VRM export!

'Customize Pose' Tool

You also have the option to customize a pose, or create an entirely new one: When activating the 'customize pose' tool, the game will display a number of handles that allow individual bones to be rotated or moved. To reposition the camera, simply toggle the HUD (the 'H' key, by default).

Note: This tool is only available when using keyboard & mouse, it has no controller support!

Patch Notes
New
• Pose options in Photo Mode: Change facial expressions and select one of four different poses
 • High Score menu now has an option to show the leader board for Atro City
 • When using keyboard & mouse, you can set an exact value for player/starting size
Changes
• Button to select next/previous character skin now doubles as input to switch tabs (i.e. in the Photo Mode options), RB/LB by default
 • Game options such as starting size and level atmosphere are saved between sessions
 • Characters will change their facial expression, when attacking
 • Slow-motion range increased to a max speed of 50%, instead of 25%
 • VRM import: Bones in SpringBone chains with the suffix "_IGNORE" will be excluded from in-game BoingBone chains (useful to fix issue with branching bone chains)
Fixes
• Several small fixes
Known Issues
• Linux/SteamOS: The main menu's background video is broken on Linux versions of the game, as workaround you can try to force running the Windows version, using Proton

Version 1.4.1

Patch Notes
Changes
• Damage Scale game option can now be set to less than 100%
 • Added option to the Character Configurator, which allows you to increase a character's "reach radius", in case they have a hard time picking up vehicles (i.e. because their arms are too short.)
Fixes
• Growth Rate setting no longer changes unintentionally, when opening the options menu
 • Game will now load/display all subscribed Workshop items (used to be limited to 50)
Broken Support for Windows 7
Since version 1.4 the game has been updated to use a newer version of the Unity game engine, which unfortunately no longer supports Windows 7.

If you are running Windows 7...
 1. In Steam, go to the game's Properties...
 2. Select the Betas tab
 3. Under Beta Participation, switch to branch version-1.3

This will allow you to play the older version of the game (1.3.2) which was still compatible with Windows 7.
Apologies for the inconvenience.

Version 1.4 | 1 Year Anniversary | New City, Atmosphere Options, ...

[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]
New Level: Atro City
The game now features a new, bigger city level! Unlock Atro City by causing $350,000,000 damage, in the original city (now called Down Town) while playing Crush Hour mode.

Note: There are a few things that are still work-in-progress, for the new city: So for now, please keep in mind that...
 • Some of the game's balancing still needs to be adjusted to work with this much bigger map: At the moment, many VIP Targets will spawn far outside of the players reach, for instance
 • While player high scores will already be recorded for the new city, the in-game leader board does not yet feature an option to display scores for Atro City

Hope to take care of these issues, in the near future; until then I think these are good compromises to have the new city available, a little early!

As for size, Atro City is almost 3 times bigger than the old city: 468 buildings waiting to be destroyed!
Level Atmosphere Options
When selecting a level, you can now also change its atmosphere: Play during bright sunshine, a moody dawn, thick fog, or the moonlit night!
Various Little Things

Blinking Animations
Characters now have blinking animations! This makes the character look more alive—a low-priority feature I've been meaning to add, ever since the game's release last year... But it was only now that I've finally gotten around to it. Yippie!
(Blinking animations are also available for custom characters: Simply set up the "Blink" blend shape clip for your VRM, prior to export.)
Random Spawnpoints
In the level settings, you now can also chose to have the player(s) spawn in random locations: This is a great way to keep things 'fresh', especially in combination with the atmosphere options. This option is also great in split-screen multiplayer, to spread players out a little.
(Note: This option is only available in Custom, Sandbox, and Photo mode.)
Freeze Time!
Activating slow motion and freezing time, in Photo mode, are now two separate actions: This gives you a lot more control to stop the game in just the right moment and take your screenshot!
1 Year Anniversary 🎉
Pawperty Damage was released today, exactly one year ago! Since then it has grown quite a bit—most notably with the addition of Steam Workshop support and the custom character feature, late last year.

Now, with the new city level and atmosphere options, I felt it was appropriate to increase the game's price point to reflect all of the additions since the game's original release. That also means this content update is free of charge for anyone who has already bought the game at its old price—an early-adopter discount, of sorts, haha!

I hope you continue to enjoy the game, and thank you so much for this year!

Patch Notes
New
• Unlockable level: Atro City
 • Level atmosphere options: Sunshine, Dawn, Foggy, Midnight
 • Option to spawn at a random location (available in Custom, Sandbox, and Photo mode)
 • Blinking animations for characters (also available for custom characters)
 • Dedicated key/button to take screenshot in Photo mode (will automatically hide HUD)
 • Added Spanish translation
Changes
• Overall performance improvements
 • Separated actions to activate slow motion and freeze time, in Photo mode
Fixes
• Various small bug fixes
Known Issues
• When changing level atmosphere, reflections are sometimes not updated correctly (resulting in wrong lighting and reflections, i.e. in building windows.)
 • Because of a critical rendering engine bug, the 'SSAO' option is now permanently enabled, in the graphics settings: Turning it off caused violent flickering graphic glitches. I hope this workaround resolves the issue, for now, but please take care if you are suffering from photosensitive epilepsy
