To celebrate the launch of our in-house map generation tool, the Pagonia Editor, we’ve prepared a map builder contest. Become a Builder of Pagonia and let your creativity shine!

[h2]Builders of Pagonia – Map Contest[/h2]


The contest starts today and runs until January 29, 2026. The map package with the most likes until the given time frame wins!

How to Enter:
  • Create a new custom map using the Pagonia Editor and upload it on Mod.io with the "Map Builder Contest 1" Tag.
  • Make sure to stay within the time frame: January 29, 2026 4 pm CET.
  • The winner will be determined shortly after.
Conditions:

  • The map must be your original creation
  • The map must be visible and accepted on mod.io
  • The map must be playable, i.e. have a victory condition that can be achieved.
  • Have a single active member account on mod.io
  • Not be employed or provide services for mod.io, Envision Entertainment or Pioneers of Pagonia
  • Notwithstanding the above eligibility criteria, Envision Entertainment and mod.io reserve the right to exclude any creator or mod from the contest for any reason

Our QA will playtest the map with the most likes and determines its eligibility. Apart from fame and glory, the winner receives a visible tag on their map package on mod.io and in-game, a special rank on our Discord and an exclusive merch package.

The 2nd and 3rd best map will get an honorable mention on our social media channels. :)

[h2]Mod.io[/h2]
Mod.io is a platform that hosts community-made content, such as custom maps created with the Pagonia Editor. This is where you upload your map packages. Add an appealing description and some screenshots and you're ready to go! If you like to play a community-made map, it's pretty easy: Just subscribe in mod.io or in-game or download the file, unzip it and move it to the Maps folder.

Pagonia Editor Update 0.15.1 – Hotfix

[h3]Dear Pioneers,[/h3]
We followed your lively discussions with great interest and praise your very Pagonian efforts to solve the "Skull Island" map together. In the past a lot of you were asking for a real challenge, so we delivered.

[h3]But we must admit this map might be a tough nut to crack![/h3]

So, we adjusted the difficulty a little bit in this Hot Fix. We do, however, still consider this map as "hardcore" and extremely difficult to beat!

For all of you, who want to keep trying to win the original hardcore map, find the save game provided by us on our Discord!

Keep in mind that the Halloween content is available until November 14th, 2025, but don't panic! You will be able to continue playing your started save games even after the event has ended.

With the adjustments made, we hope that you can beat this treacherous island! ☠️

We just released our Pagonia Editor Update 0.15.0 🎉

It's now possible to create detailed maps with our in-house tools! We also sprinkled some quality-of-life improvements with a couple of gameplay and interface changes on top of this version 0.15.0!

Create your first maps with the Pagonia Editor!


Please keep in mind that the Pagonia Editor is our in-house tool for creating maps. Therefore, it comes with some technical challenges. Additionally, the Editor has higher hardware requirements than the game itself. Overall, this is a tool for people who do not shy away when things get technical. But we're confident that you'll get the hang of it in no time.

Everyone who owns the Early Access version has access to the Pagonia Editor. You can access it via this path:

C:/Program Files (x86)/Steam/steamapps/common/Pioneers of Pagonia/Editor

[h2]Updated Halloween Maps 🎃[/h2]
Spooky season is upon us! Not only did we manage to revive last year's Halloween Map, but we also created a completely new one! For all our advanced players, you're in for a treat! This one is not for faint-hearted people. Can you beat the challenge?

Two time-limited Halloween maps were added to the official scenario maps section:

Encounter a new horrific challenge for very advanced players with extra difficult settings

[h3]Spiral of the Harvest Moon 🌙[/h3]
This time-limited map from previous year got reworked and offers an average challenge for the spooky season.

[h2]Campaign – Closed Beta 🗺️[/h2]
Our team is working tirelessly on the story campaign, and we are finally ready for our very first play test! However, this one is going to be a closed beta with a very limited number of play testers. Also, you must own the game and we will ask you to sign an NDA before testing campaign material.

[h2]Tutorial Map[/h2]
  • New version of the new Tutorial map is available now, we are looking forward to your feedback!

[h2] Updated Halloween Maps[/h2]
  • Two time-limited Halloween maps were added to the official scenario maps section:
    • Halloween Event – SKULL ISLAND
      Encounter a new horrific challenge for very advanced players with extra difficult settings.
    • Halloween Event – SPIRAL OF THE HARVEST MOON
      This time-limited map from previous year got reworked and offers an average challenge for the spooky season.
  • Reactivated time-limited Halloween assets

[h2]Gameplay[/h2]
  • Supply locations can now be supplied by the Trading Post, too.


    • Until now, supply locations had to be in the player territory and connected to a road to be supplied by Carriers. Now, deliveries can be done to supply locations outside player territory by using Trade Carriers.
    • As soon as a supply location is discovered, the Trading Post interface will offer an option to supply it with the requested commodities.
    • If the supply location is inside player territory, it can be supplied simultaneously both by carriers using roads and by trade carriers starting at trading posts.
  • Woodcutter: add clear forest option


    • The button to preserve the forest has been visually modified. As before, it is enabled by default and will ensure that Woodcutters only cut large trees to preserve the forest since fully-grown trees initiate new saplings. If disabled, trees of any size will be cut. The default setting can be modified in the options.
    • A new button allows to order the Woodcutters to focus on cutting all trees without collecting any trunks or wood.
  • Hunter: add kill boars option


    • A new button allows to order Hunters of a Hunting Lodge to focus on hunting wild boars without collecting any meat or leather.
  • Baneroots will now reveal themselves if they are still in unexplored areas and attack player units. This ensures that player units can target them, too.
  • Scav bases will now be destroyed if the leftover Scav units are far away.
  • Some jewelry will now also boost combat strength of Warlocks and Sorcerers if stored in the Treasury.
  • The Smelting Works workflow has been speed up, increasing the buildings efficiency and reducing the need to build as many Smelting Works as before.


[h2]Interface[/h2]
  • The Interface for starting a new game has been recreated.
    • New: Scenario map section now offers access to maps created by the community.
      • The sub-section “Discover Maps” will be empty until the first community maps are created and published.
    • All other map options are available as before, but the flow has been improved.
  • The construction interface has been upgraded.
    • We used your feedback to modify the building categories and resorted the building types.
    • The categories got new icons for easier readability.
  • The mini map offers new filters for buildings:
    • All buildings, all territory buildings, all priority buildings, all buildings with yellow and/or red warning flags.
  • Added description to comfort meal tooltip in homes
  • Added tooltips to objective buttons in the Settlement Progression window
  • Fixed Quarry resource highlight not working correctly with disabled recipes
  • New mouse cursor
  • Territory buildings and residence buildings are now grouped when cycling with TAB.
  • Cycling between buildings with TAB now groups Storages and Warehouses together as well as all Territory building types.
  • Some objective items have been improved

  • The Venturer got a visual upgrade
  • Improved readability of rock deposits

You probably already guessed it from the title: We just released the Beta of our Pagonia Editor! 🎉It's now possible to create detailed maps with our in-house tools! We also sprinkled some quality-of-life improvements with a couple of gameplay and interface changes on top of this version 0.15.0!

[h2]Beta Disclaimer[/h2]

Please be aware that this is a Beta version for the game and the Pagonia Editor.

We expect the game to leave beta in the usual time frame. Depending on your feedback about the editor and maps that are created with it, we may keep this part of the release in beta for a longer time or release it together with the other parts of the update.

The Map Packages are created by the community, so until the first community maps appear, only a few example test maps from Envision are available. The goal of those maps is to fill the initial selection, they are not balanced and tested.

Please keep in mind that the Pagonia Editor is our in-house tool for creating maps. Therefore, it comes with some technical challenges. Additionally, the Editor has higher hardware requirements than the game itself. In this Beta version you might encounter some performance issues or bugs.

Overall, this is a tool for people who do not shy away when things get technical. But we're confident, that you'll get the hang of it in no time. :)
