Developer’s Letter: Community Q&A Review [3rd Part]

BM Products
Question
Answer
Do you plan to re-release early Closers costumes?
If you share the specific costumes you’re interested in, we’ll review and check.
Will you adjust Cash Shop items that seem oddly priced?
Cash Shop pricing is set after reviewing multiple factors. We will review if an adjustment is possible.

Right now costumes are mostly obtained via gacha, so there are not much of other ways to obtain them. Please also sell costumes directly in the UNION Store (e.g., sell Types A/B/C; keep Type D as gacha).
At this time, we do not plan to sell illustration-included costumes via packages.
The current UNION Pass doesn’t allow direct point purchases, and the Pass Booster’s value feels too low for its price. Even after buying all boosters, you still can’t reach 4,000 points at once, so late-joining players, even if they’re willing to spend, sometimes can’t claim the rewards. Do you plan to revamp this structure?
We will review changes to the Pass Booster’s pricing and overall structure.
Please sell costumes of NPCs or boss characters.
We will explore multiple avenues to make these obtainable.
Please add UNION Pass costumes that male characters can also wear.
We will do our best to ensure no characters are overlooked.
Do you plan to add an item that waives Black Market fees?
We have no plans to develop such an item.

Question
Answer
Will you add promotion motions with camera direction?
We will update promotion motions so they can be played with or without camera effects. We’ll announce the rollout once finalized.
I’m fine with weekly content being on the easier side, but recent raids feel too easy. Normal and Hard use the same patterns with only inflated HP, and many patterns feel sluggish. Are you aiming for a stylish, fast-paced action game, or a game that prioritizes convenient multi-character grind?
These goals aren’t mutually exclusive.
We will do our best to keep the game with stylish action and uninterrupted gameplay flow.
Closers is fundamentally a subculture action game, but it feels increasingly grind-focused. Daily quests feel like chores or homework, and the burden of leveling alts keeps growing to the point I can’t enjoy it like before. Are you aware of this issue?
Thank you for the suggestion. We will explore ways to reduce gameplay burden.
Can’t you fix how birthday cakes are rewarded only when users send in an inquiry? Please add an in-game birthday setting with automatic cake rewards.
This feature isn’t provided after the service transition.
We ask for your understanding, as privacy policy constraints make it difficult.
Why do emote commands like /ㅋㅋ work only with exactly two “ㅋ”? It used to work by typing /ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ
Emote commands are designed to require exact keywords.
/ㅋㅋ is the correct command, but we’ll verify whether variants previously worked.
Would you consider releasing the playable-character motions that appear when receiving the Brazier Buff in Planar Gate as emotes (e.g., via an Emote Ticket in a future event)? Previously, PD Yoo mentioned doing this about three years ago, but it never happened. We’d love to see it added.
We’ll coordinate timing and method to offer Brazier Buff motions as emotes.
Please re-upload the voice actors’ radio-style event videos.
We will upload them within this year.
Please upload past YouTube content and new voice dramas.
Past content will be uploaded within this year. Instead of a new voice drama, we’re exploring other media-mix formats.
Who designed the Count D Raid structure?
We can’t disclose developers’ personal information.
Do the devs actually play the game?
Yes, our entire dev team plays the game, including myself.
Who designed the auction system?
We can’t disclose the developer’s identity.
What’s your future roadmap and direction?
While it is difficult to make sudden changes when there are development tasks that must be delivered routinely,
our long-term goal is to ensure that the flow of gameplay is not interrupted.
We aim to minimize situations where something is missing or lacking in a way that disrupts the gameplay experience.
We will also work to provide updates more frequently and in greater detail than before.
Will you apologize and respond quickly to incidents?
We strive to respond as quickly as possible when issues occur.
Even when we report toxic or disruptive players, it seems no action is taken. Are those reports actually being reviewed?
Yes; we review reports and apply sanctions.
Please publish official BWH measurements.
Per internal policy, profiles include only height and weight. Other body measurements are excluded.
Please don’t shut the game down. We love it even if we complain.
Thank you for your support.
What’s your view on “free TCP” squads that ignore recommended Total Combat Power requirements? Do you see them positively—since they let more players experience the dungeons you’ve built—or negatively, because they can make high-TCP/patterned content too easy? Overall, is the “free TCP” culture a net positive or net negative for the game?
This is similar to a previous answer, but to add a few words: we see our role as creating an environment where Closers can enjoy the game.
Controlling how you choose to use that environment is beyond our remit. We will continue to strive to provide the best possible environment.
Will you continue holding Q&A sessions like this?
We’ll keep looking for diverse ways to engage and meet with players. Please stay involved.
Which boss or dungeon is the dev team most satisfied with?
We still see room for improvement and will keep working to deliver better bosses and dungeons.
Do you plan to produce figures of playable characters?
That would require a careful profitability review. We have no plans at this time.
Please don’t shut the game down.
Thank you. We’ll do our best to provide stable service.
Reports and penalties for bad-mannered players seem limited to hacking/bug use. Can you improve sanctions for toxic behavior?
We take action in accordance with our operating policies.
Are you monitoring botting farms?
We regularly collect logs on abnormal play and apply sanctions.
Will you add warning/penalty systems for intentional griefing or trolling?
We enforce in accordance with our operating policies.
Let’s do better
Thank you.
Any plans to crowdfund goods like artbooks or dakimakura (hugging pillow)?
We recognize the demand and will consider ways to produce goods at an appropriate time.
Please add the win/lose motions from UNION Arena and Mock Battle as general emotes.
Not planned. Those motions indicate specific moments (entry, victory, defeat) and won’t be offered as always-available emotes.
Will the Closers Awards resume in 2025?
We’re preparing so we can cap the year with it.
Please increase the value of event rewards.
We’ll review reward valuation from multiple angles.
Will Harpas Talismans be granted or made tradable on the Black Market?
No plans.
Will overseas-only goods be added to the Korean server?
Many overseas goods are bound by regional publisher contracts, so KR sales or provision are difficult.
Why is the “Smiling Mask” (from PD Lee’s gift) not transferable via account bank?
Sorry for the poor guidance. Going forward, we’ll distribute such gifts as selectable boxes.
Will you change the game’s rating from 15+ to 19+?
No.
Commitments publicly promised by previous PDs often seem to get dropped without any follow-up when leadership changes. Ideally those commitments should be honored; if that isn’t feasible, we at least expect a clear explanation. How do the dev team and the current PD view this?
We’ll re-review commitments from prior PDs and follow up with answers.
Did you review the raid-related feedback from the 2025 Summer Update survey? If so, what are your thoughts, and are there plans for further improvements?
We’ve reviewed the survey feedback and will use it as important input when setting future development direction.
When will you re-upload videos, such as Closers animations and voice dramas, that were posted during Nexon’s operation but haven’t been restored yet?
We’ll register them within this year.
Many subculture games now officially release character models to encourage fan-made content. Would Closers consider doing the same? I believe the characters are the game’s greatest strength, and official model distribution would help promote them more broadly.
The suggestion is appreciated, but we’re not able to officially distribute game models or other assets.
The patch cycle feels too predictable (new area/dungeon + gear → new raid), which lowers hype and motivation to keep playing. Surprising content is important for fun and engagement. Do you have anything that breaks the pattern and could spark fresh interest this time?
We are preparing a variety of content updates and quality-of-life improvements. However, in order to design these updates in ways that will resonate with many Closers, the planning phase can take considerable time, and some plans may even be halted. Alongside the upcoming new area update, our entire development team will do our utmost to ensure that the features in preparation deliver a satisfying experience.
About the third round of answers for the offline event: the PD changed before it was posted. Was it canceled?
We hope this event addresses much of what the third responses would have covered. For questions not mentioned here, we’ll re-review them and create an opportunity to answer.
In the Ancient Dragon Dungeon rework notice, you said pre-rework materials would remain usable in certain recipes for a period, but they were removed immediately. Why the change, and will you give us a chance to use old materials?
We apologize for unclear wording that caused confusion.
The message meant only some recipes would remain while others would be removed.
We’ll write future notices more precisely to avoid misunderstandings.
You ran a player survey via Google Forms for the first time in seven years. Will you continue conducting such surveys regularly? I hope you will keep conducting surveys like this.
Yes, we’ll work to do so.
There are tons of emojis in Closers. Do you plan to release Closers emoji on platforms like KakaoTalk or LINE?
It’s difficult for the dev team to drive this alone. We’ll discuss the idea with our Business and BD teams.
Will you host a Closers Awards under NADDIC’s self-service, similar to the Nexon era?
Thank you for the suggestion. While it may not be identical to the previous format, we plan to hold it at the end of this year.
Many old Nexon-era videos are back, but the animation and the 2021 Summer & Winter voice dramas are still missing. When will they be uploaded?
We will upload all of them within this year.
When will you upload “Closers Talk” with the new area, main story, and roadmap schedule?
First, regarding the schedule for the new area and main story updates, we are preparing them according to our internal roadmap, and we will share specific dates separately. We are focusing on improving the overall quality so that the new area and story can deliver meaningful changes for all Closers.
Will the Triss “heart hand” motion released on the China server be released on KR and other regions?
The Triss heart emote was developed as a region-limited item. In KR, we’d like to apply it when emotes for all characters are ready. It’s not yet locked into the roadmap, but we’ll add it when the timing fits.
Will you run an official character popularity poll?
We’ll try it as a community event on the official website. Thanks for the idea.
In Closers Talk Ep. 2, PD Kang said Levia’s remake was part of the “summer” update, but October is autumn. Was October considered summer at NADDIC?
We apologize for the confusion caused by mixing content to be updated in Summer with content currently under development. We’ll separate quarterly updates from in-progress work more clearly in future communications.
Will you host events like live streams, roadmap showcases, or PD/GM playing with users?
Communication with Closers through a live broadcast would require different preparations depending on what content we present and how we choose to deliver it. We will determine an appropriate format and timing for such communication and proceed accordingly.
Update notices feel too brief. Please make them clearer.
We’ll do our best to provide clearer, more detailed notices.
Any plans for game/anime collaborations?
None are planned at the moment, but we’ll consider it if an appropriate partner appears.
Do you have countermeasures against Black Market price manipulation?
We’re continuously monitoring for market manipulation and will keep improving the economy’s stability.
According to the Developer Diary, the auction system was introduced to stabilize the economy and alleviate repetitive farming. But similar goals could’ve been met with other designs like the low-spawn Nightmare merchant in the Night Maze dungeon that sells rare items. Was there a specific reason it had to be an auction system for Closers?
The introduction of the auction system was driven not only by the goals of stabilizing the in-game economy and improving monotonous farming, but also, as previously explained in Closers Talk, by the intention to provide all Closers with equal farming opportunities.
To ensure that participating players have a chance, rather than relying solely on probability, we implemented the auction system.
