Greetings once again through this August Developer's Letter.
In this Developer's Letter, we aim to address any curiosities that our Agents may have by providing additional information about the upcoming summer updates.

The 21st new character, Yoon Ria, joins Closers after about a year and a half.
The new character, Ria, initially awakened her phase force early on, underwent some trials, gave up being a Phase user, debuted as an idol, and then returned as a Closer.
The story of how Ria returned to being a Closer from being an idol will unfold through the update on August 7.

We have put our best effort into capturing Ria's narrative and personality through details such as taking selfies and gestures where she holds a microphone to sing.
We have meticulously created each motion and effect from scratch to present an attractive character, and we look forward to seeing many players enjoy Closers with the new character.

Especially since Ria is joining the Black Lamb team for the first time since Misteltein, we plan to introduce new chemistry with the existing Black Lamb members and showcase another charm of the Black Lamb team.

A Growth Guide will be added to help the New/Returning Agents to get back into the game faster.
For Agents who are struggling to settle in due to the old systems and accumulated content, we have prepared a system in the growth guide. Upon first logging into the game, you can immediately check which dungeons you should go to at your current level, what actions to take next, and move directly to the relevant area with just a click.

The update for Yoon Ria's Special Agent and Prime Agent will include the continuation of the story from the International Airport.

Regarding Yoon Ria's skills and promotion configuration, as you might expect, Ria does not have a Task Force promotion.
This means that her Special Agent promotion will include three normal skills and one Special Move, while her Prime Agent role will add two normal skills and one Special Move, similar to other characters.

The highly anticipated 'Dragon's Vanguard' update, the prelude of Dragon King, is coming soon.
You will have the opportunity to face the 'Indomitable Gatekeeper,' Andras, and 'Violet Vanguard,' representing the younger years of Astaroth.
A new story and battles involving these characters await you.

In 'Dragon's Vanguard,' along with 'DRAGONISH Trans Discs,' announced in 'Closers Channel ON Ep.2', there has been a change to update two types of craftable modules. This update aims to enhance the gameplay of 'Dragon's Vanguard,' allowing players to access new gear more swiftly.
The 'DRAGONISH Trans Disc' will be updated from the existing Trans Discs : Supreme to include on-use effects.
These effects will be available for Trans Discs from levels 4 to 6, while previous levels will receive a set minor increase in stats. Please look forward to collecting these from levels 1 to 3 in 'Dragon's Vanguard' and levels 4 to 6 in the upcoming 'Reign of the Dragon King.'

Following the 'Dragon's Vanguard', the main story of 'Reign of the Dragon King' will be updated.
In this dungeon, you will encounter 'Astarte the Dragon Queen' and 'Hecatoncheir, the Dragon King', whom we introduced earlier.
The main objective of this quest is to uncover the connections between the new epic monster Astarte and the characters Astarte and Astaroth, as well as the events involving them.
Particularly, figuratively speaking, the previous form of 'Hecatoncheir' can be considered an undead state.
For those curious about his strength if he were alive, this update will let you experience his might and majesty from the era of the Dimensional War, revisiting his memories from the past in Western Europe.
We hope you look forward to how the story of the Dragon King will unfold.
Cradle of Dragons Dungeon
In the , where Astarte appears, the battle will involve preventing the Dragon Legion from intervening to protect Astarte. The battle dynamics can change based on your choices, promising a variety of fun strategic approaches.

In , battles involve breaking the Dragon King Hecatoncheir's shields while removing debuffs. The combat is designed around the basic Closer's fight mechanics of dodging and attacking, with additional gimmick to keep the experience enjoyable and less burdensome.
In 'Reign of the Dragon King,' you will be able to farm Epic Core and Extra Core.
We previously mentioned that a craft recipe for untradable Extra Core will be introduced. This untradable Extra Core will be added to be craftable from Epic Core by ‘Upgrade’.
This will allow you to transfer settings from Epic Cores to the new untradable Extra Cores, improving the convenience of gear farming.
Tradable Extra Cores will still be obtainable through dungeon play as before.

Starting with the Reign of the Dragon King dungeon, a new reward system called 'Bonus Rewards' will be implemented.
'Bonus Rewards' are additional rewards granted separately from regular drops and clear rewards. These are given immediately upon clearing the dungeon under specific conditions that qualify for ‘Bonus Rewards’. Once the limit for 'Bonus Rewards' is reached, no further rewards will be given until the reward count is reset.
The 'Bonus Rewards' system automatically collects rewards after clearing a dungeon without needing to press the 'Receive Reward' button, making gameplay more convenient. This system will initially apply to the 'Reign of the Dragon King' dungeon and is planned to be expanded to most dungeons that Agents frequently play in the future.
Additionally, this system will also be applied to existing dungeons, with more details to be announced later.
This is expected to alleviate issues where players could miss out on rewards due to unexpected errors or using up all of their Resurrection Capsules before clearing the dungeon.

Many Agents have been curious about the renewal of the enhancement system, and I'd like to provide further information on it.
Here is a brief recap of the previously explained details:
- The enhancement buff system will be removed.
- Enhancement chances provided by enhancement buffs will be incorporated into the base chances.
- Guaranteed enhancement points will be acquired upon failure or no change in enhancement status.
- Once guaranteed enhancement points reach a certain threshold, the next enhancement attempt will succeed with a 100% chance.
Additionally, I would like to pre-announce the following updates.
- Absolute Gear Booster can be used up to the expanded enhancement range, (up to right before the maximum enhancement level of +30)
- Failure chance will be removed up to the +17 enhancement level (up to the attempt from +16 to +17)
We are diligently preparing to introduce an enhancement system that makes more sense.

As previously shared on the last Closers Channel ON, the story 'The Man's Stopped Time' featuring Tina and Trainer, is prepared as the third memorial quest.
We hope you look forward to discovering how this previously unknown chapter of their past unfolds.

We are also preparing special costumes related to the story of the memorial quest, so we hope you will enjoy it.
Additionally, a new entry exclusive to the Memorial Quest will be introduced with the update of the third Memorial Quest.

We are also preparing a balance patch for approximately four characters.

This balance patch will focus on adding 'utility' as the key point and aim to enhance the damage output for some characters.
We strive to ensure that the adjusted characters will show significant improvements in both convenience and damage.

The final update for Ria character, 'Skill Polish,' will be added.
While we cannot reveal which skills will be subjected to the Polish target just yet, we are committed to developing changes that will give you more enjoyable skill combinations to experience.

Finally, Teacher Young-Yi returns with the Divine Battle!
Previously, the Divine Battles were hosted by the Dogra and Magra sisters, but this time, Teacher Young-Yi will take over their roles.
We'd like to give you a heads-up that we might also rename the Divine Battle to align with this update.

The concept for this Divine Battle event dungeons is 'endless waves of monsters and non-stop barrage of skills.'
We plan to present this fun combat against numerous dimensional monsters in a new style, ensuring the gameplay is optimized to avoid any frame drops. We look forward to your participation and hope you enjoy the new challenges.
