The Crew Haven — Let the Trades Begin!

[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]
ːsteamthisːCheck out the video above for a sneak peek of the update ːsteamthisː
New Trading and Building Island — Crew Haven

Restore the Haven and start trade and delivery operations!
New repeatable Trading and Delivery objectives.
New repeatable Seek and Destroy objectives.
New Crew Buildings.
Trade Crates
Collect and manufacture Trade Crates after restoring your crew buildings at the Crew Haven.
Deliver Trade Goods to remote ports and earn Dubloons!

Check your objectives for a mission to Travel to Crew Haven (at level 21) to get started.
Supply and Demand
Different Trade crates are in demand every day. Check the Crew Haven Board “Trade Goods shop” to find the Trade Crates that are in demand by the Northwest and Southwest Trade ports for that day.Trade Crates can be acquired either by manufacturing them in your new Crew Buildings or by putting a security deposit in the Trade Goods shop.
Crew Buildings
Crew buildings can be obtained in the Dubloon Shop at the Crew Haven Board. Crew Buildings can be placed in the Town Square (central area) of Crew Haven Island. When you try to place the building, you will see arrows that will guide you to the correct installation location.

You can earn Dubloons by doing some objectives at the board. Some simple objectives may reward you your first Dubloons, which can then be used to expand your operations further. To get started with the Trading operations, you may need to obtain your first Trade Crates from the Crew Haven Board Trade Goods Shop. Once you successfully deliver these Trade Crates to their respective ports, you will be rewarded. Once a delivery objective is accepted, you will see the map markers on your compass, or in the map by pressing M.

There are different kinds of crew buildings. Each building has its own benefit, and each building creates its own kind of unique products, with some additional benefit. For example, Crew Farm grows coffee, and the Crew Brewery makes a Mauby base used for making Mauby (a new drink). You can sell some drinks at the Crew Bar and make some Gold and Dubloons as a side hustle!
Crew Work Orders
Crew buildings run on Crew Work Orders that need to be crafted. Check your player crafting or your workbench to create new Work Orders. This item can be crafted with both "C" crafting menu and the Workbench. Crew Work Orders are used to keep production running in the Crew Buildings. Place the Work Orders in the storage of your crew buildings, and the crew will start working!
Treasury Building
Display your treasures and earn Treasury Bills. Installing a Treasury Building is a good way to earn some passive income on the side. Display Treasures you find hidden deep inside a Pyramid, or treasures swallowed by pet Krakens that steal shiny things! New Treasury building can be placed in the Crew Haven town. Place treasures found from the Pyramid and Beast loot to generate Treasury Bills. The Treasury Bills can be turned in at Captain Nyx for rewards.

New Crew Work Boats and Crew Shipyard can be placed at the dock at Crew Haven. The Shipyard will craft Pangea Defender Ships for Sir Jim in exchange for rewards.
An Ocean Beast Rises…
A new Beast Invasion will now haunt the Forgotten Seas. Beast will rise near Crew Haven and can be destroyed by both melee weapons and ship cannonballs. These beasts are known to steal treasures and can hold swallowed treasure caches in their bellies! Obtained a swallowed treasure cache for a chance at finding rare treasures and display them in your Treasury Building.
Commander Half-Life & his Cargo Stealin' Thugs Encounter
[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]Commander Half Life is the leader of the cargo stealers. He spawns when you accept a Dangerous Delivery Objective. Dangerous Delivery is a mission for those who wish for a challenge. Beware, this mission will put most of your skills to the test. Most important skill for this encounter is your “Navigation Skill” that improves your speed and handling of your ship. Commander Half Life can only be defeated by outmaneuvering his ship. More details will be available in your objective. You can see your objectives in the Journal [J] or Objectives [O].
New Cargo Stealers!
Beware! Some Cargo Stealer ships may block your path. They are notorious thugs led by their Commander Half Life! They will try to steal your trade crates, and any valuables you may be carrying on you or your ship. If your cargo is stolen, the cargo stealer will try to run away. You can recover your stolen cargo by destroying the thief. You will need to hurry as the cargo stealer may get away and you may lose your crates and other valuable goods.
New “Navigation” Skill
The New Navigation skill improves your speed and handling with each level. You can increase the level of your navigation skill by collecting Navigation Skill Pages and Navigation Charts.
Navigation Skill Pages and Navigation Charts
Navigation Skill pages can be obtained by the new Interactive Wind and Sail Management system. Align your sails to the correct “Point-Of-Sail” when prompted to do so in the course of your sailing. When you match your ship sails to the prompted Point-Of-Sail direction, you have a chance to receive a skill page. When you match your sail to the proper direction, you will receive a speed buff as well. Navigation Charts can be obtained at the Dubloon Shop in the Crew Haven board.
Collect enough pages and charts to make a Navigation Skill Book and enhance your skill!
New Interactive Wind System and adjustable “Point-Of-Sail”
Turn and adjust your sails to the proper Point-Of-Sail orientation to gain an advantage. You can find this in the ship HUD (bottom left corner of the screen). When prompted to do so, align your sails correctly for a wind buff akin to the point-of-sail direction.

For example, if the wind system shows a Starboard Tack (Wind blowing from the Starboard Side), the sails will need to be turned a few degrees clockwise to catch the proper wind. Doing so will give you a wind buff and a chance to obtain a Navigation Skill Page. Such an advantage is extremely helpful in new encounters such as the Commander Half Life encounter.
Mermaid Buffs
Mermaids give significant sailing speeds when you brush by them with your ship. Mermaids may also give you health and energy, and leave you some gifts from time to time. If you happen to spot a mermaid, be sure to swing by and say hello! Mermaid buffs can be great at times when you desperately need energy or health, or when there is no wind. Mermaid buffs can also provide a crucial speed advantage in fighting your enemies. Mermaid buffs are generally short lived bursts, but when timed aptly, they can be a great ally.
New Kitchen and Kitchen Decorations
New Kitchen is now available in the Dubloon Shop. While it doesn’t cook anything new, it lists most recipes for you, so you don’t have to remember the processing details should you choose to. However, if you enjoy discovering recipes on your own, you can still continue to use the stoves and campfire the way you are used to.

New decorations like hanging spices, cheese, meats etc are now also available for the base builder and decorator enthusiasts.
New Drinks Coffee and Mauby
Coffee provides a significant energy regeneration buff and Mauby increases your thirst pool and provides you a shot of energy. New Coffee Pot to brew Coffee is available in the Dubloon Shop. To make coffee, coffee must first be grown at the Crew Farm by adding Crew Work Orders to the Crew Farm after installation. Coffee can be consumed to gain energy and can also be packed at the Packing Workbench to sell in the Forest Market Stall.

New Mauby drinks can be made in the fermenters. To make Mauby, a Mauby base is required. Mauve base can be obtained from the Crew Brewery by adding Crew Work Orders to the Crew Brewery. Mauby can be consumed for energy and thirst and can also be packed at the Packing Workbench to sell in the Tropical Market Stall.
New item: Ship Insurance
Place one Ship Insurance in your ship inventory. If your ship is destroyed, it will be recovered in your Vault in Fort Pangea. Ship Insurance can be obtained from the Crew Haven Board.
Other Changes
• Harvestable Trees (e.g. Coconut Trees) will no longer spawn on your foundations.
  • Improvements to lighting torches and other light fixtures
You may need to replace some light fixtures as now less light fixtures are required to light up your base. If you are using too many torches or lamps, consider replacing them with fewer light fixtures. Avoid using too many free standing torches and wall mounted lights in the same area, consider using fewer of them.
  • After teleporting or respawning from a faraway location, your base will now be loaded quicker than before.
  • New Trade Ports added on Northwest and Southwest locations on the map.
  • New Currency "Dubloons".
  • Added some new items such as Crew Supplies and Sea Biscuits to the loot tables of Pirate enemies.
  • New decor including banners, food shelves and signs.
  • Defend Fort Pangea encounter now also awards some Crew Supplies.
  • New Clam and Crab Harvesters to place on shallow waters. Obtainable at Crew Haven.
Mysterious Relics
Mysterious Relics maybe found when digging up the Treasure in the X Marks the Spot objective.
Sail to the marked location with a shovel and dig up the treasure to find Mysterious Relics or more treasure clues! Click and Use the Mysterious Relic to reveal a Random Rare Collectible Relic.

Treasure Clues drop from Common and Rare Treasure Caches, Trade Blockade Ships, Flotsams, Enemy Ports, Coffer drops from the sky, Smugglers, and Scavengers etc. Lost Chest on starter island gives a guaranteed Treasure Clue and a Shovel to get you started!
New Treasure Display Shelf
Craft a New Treasure Display Shelf to display all your collected Relics and trigger achievements. Exchange any surplus Relics for gold at a Trader. Collect a set of several Relics hidden across the map and place them inside the Treasure Display Shelf.

The Relics that are displayed in the Treasure Display Shelf do have a main story quest significance that is yet to be revealed. You may want to discover and hold on to at least 1 set of Relics and sell or exchange the surplus Relics at a Trader or give to a friend.
New Salvager Ship (The Sloop)
A new ship in a bottle to behold! The Salvager, a sloop class ship designed to fit perfectly with your treasure hunting desires. Increased loot pickup range, agility, cargo and speed. While not a ship fitted for heavy combat, it can hold its own in small skirmishes. Fast and agile enough to catch up with Smugglers, and takes significantly reduced damage when on the run! Its purpose is to treasure hunt, and run away before too many enemies overwhelm you.

  • This ship can be obtained in Sir Jim’s shop for stamps.
  • It can also obtained by finishing a new Quest: Sir Jim’s Ship In A Bottle.
  • This ship has bonus to Fire Damage and has Bonus Resistance to Physical Damage
Inertia is now enabled on Boats
We know that boats don’t start and stop on a whim. We had this disabled in our early development phase to keep things simple for performance and networking reasons. Our goal is to keep boat navigation and controls overall simple and intuitive, but a little immersion is also good for gameplay. We have enabled a small amount of non-intrusive inertia on all boats. Boat movement control will overall feel a bit more natural and smoother, but not cumbersome. Be advised, this feature is enabled on Single Player mode only.
Improved Handing, Storage and Pickup Range on All Ships
• Better Pickup Range on all boats, and Better Handling and Turning
  • You can Pick up nearby items in the ocean from an increased ranged by pressing the F key while mounted.
  • More Storage slots in Ships, Players and Chests
Shrink the Ship Back Into The Bottle!
Apollo (The Shady Trader) now sells an item, the “Ship Shrinker”. You can now shrink your ship back in the bottle should you desire. To shrink your ship, simply put the item in the ship’s cargo hold (aka inventory).

Ship Shrinker will only work if your ship has no missing health. As in you may not be able to shrink it in combat or when taking damage in battle. However, if you can run away from enemies and heal your ship to full. You can shrink it back. Any cargo in the hold will be sent to your vault at Fort Pangea. To access your vault, visit Sir Jim at Fort Pangea.
New Steam Achievements
New Steam Achievements have been added to go along with your Treasure Hunting!
A New Steam Achievement is added to throw a ship in a bottle in the ocean. This can be completed by throwing any ship in the bottle in the ocean. To make it easier, you can obtain a free Salvager Sloop by finishing the new quest Sir Jim’s Sloop which will be given to all players who have finished a certain set of quests.
New Falling Coffer Caches
New Item “Coffers” can be collected in the ocean in remote areas of the ocean. Coffers are dropped in the ocean from the Pangea Air ship in the sky (story). While you may not always see the Air Ship since it hovers high above the clouds, you may see coffers fall from the sky. Coffers may contain treasure clues and some common resources for players.

Keep an eye out for falling caches from the sky! These caches do disappear, so if you see one fall, go to it. Remember, they are only dropped in the outskirt sections of the map around the smaller islands and far edges of the map. You will only see them as long as your ship isn't idle in the ocean and is moving.
New First Person Camera Option
Toggle between First and Third Person camera mode to make your gameplay more interesting and immersive! Press the F7 key when in game to switch views.

Currently this feature is experimental, and your camera setting will not be saved in preferences. While we intend for both settings to co-exist for all players, let us know which mode you prefer playing in!
New Framerate Limit Setting
To follow up with our last update, we have added an FPS limit setting to the game’s Home Screen. This can be chosen before getting into the game. While we will do everything possible to make sure the game runs at optimum levels, it is a good idea to regularly take care of your PC components. Dust and clean your components regularly to avoid overheating issues. If needed, choose proper settings in your NVIDIA or AMD control panels or similar. You can set FPS limits and fine tune other graphic settings via your GPU specific control panels.
Other Changes
All Storage Chests, Player, and Boats now have their slots slightly increased.
Campfires and Iron Stove will now start cooking a recipe if it's already burning fuel

Builder's Bounty Update

[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]
ːsteamthisːCheck out the video above for a sneak peek of the update ːsteamthisː
Build Creative Tiki Bases

Unleash your creativity and take your Tiki / Bamboo builds to a whole new level!
• New Corner Roofs for Tiki / Bamboo: Outer Corner (Hip) and Inner Corner (Valley).
  • Hip Roofs can attach to any bamboo wall.
  • Hip Roofs can also be attached to bamboo large trim (pillar) and bamboo doorways.

  • Hip Roofs can also be attached to other Hip Roofs and Valley Roofs expanding the number of possible variations of the roof line.
  • Valley Roof can attach to Gable Roof pieces such as bamboo Right Roof, bamboo Middle Roof, and Left Roof - Note that right and left bamboo roofs are determined by the direction of the angled frayed edges when placing a roof on wall (when facing the wall from the inside).
  • Bamboo Windows can now be placed on both sides of the Bamboo Window Wall.
  • Bamboo Foundation and Half Foundations can now be attached to the bottom of the foundation stairs creating a potential to build various landings on your staircases.
Major Performance Optimization
Forgotten Seas is a CPU intensive, multiplayer base building game. We will continue to optimize at every chance we get. We are a 2 person team and this is a monumental task. It will take some time. We thank you for your patience.

We have optimized several aspects of the game to bring you faster frame rates and smoother gameplay. Some of you may see triple digit framerates in newly created worlds and an overall smoother performance. Currently saved worlds will also benefit from performance optimizations, depending on how many storage entities, and building pieces are placed close to each other.

Overall, there should still be a noticeable boost in your performance, whether your world is new or old. While we have increased the number of building units that can be rendered effectively in a small area, you may experience some bottlenecks in heavily congested areas with a lot of building and processing units. To continue to experience a smoother performance as your world grows, try spreading out your buildings, processing units and other decorations.
Significantly Faster World Load Times
We have optimized world loading to bring you significantly faster world loading times regardless of your base build size. Most worlds should load within 15-30 seconds as opposed to 2-5 min loading times before for larger worlds! Don’t let loading times hold you back any more. Get ready to Unleash your creativity!
Other Changes
• Added a no-build zone near the tropical and forest traders to prevent players inadvertently building too close to the trader location. This is to prevent the trader ship from intruding in your homes!
  • Fixed some translation related issues. We are aware that there may be some missing or incorrect translations. We will be making more of these fixes over a period of time.
  • Added new loading scene images for world loading, teleporting and respawning.
  • Fixed an issue that was causing incompatibility related UI crashes when using a mouse with extremely high poll rates. This manifested to some users as the UI icons being stuck on the screen or non responsive while dragging the mouse.
