Final touches before release!

The release build is ready and the final changes from the playtest feedback are implemented, including:

  • Astro Impact (Asteroids): Enemy homing missile speed tweaked, added slight randomness to chase speed and turn speed.
  • Brick Smash (Breakout): Reverse paddle "powerup" is now timed (temporary) and wears out after a certain period, reverting the controls to normal. The time it lasts increases for every level, starting at 30 sec and increasing as you progress through the levels.

In addition, the final 3 bosses of Astro Impact and 2 new types of enemy homing missiles are added; as well as the remaining achievements, bringing the total up to 18.

Unfortunately, the new items asked for during playtest are not ready to implement for release, but will be added asap after. I'm hoping to properly implement these and release them by end of August this year. The new items are:

  • Astro Impact (Asteroids):

    • Weapon upgrade – Homing missiles
    • Speed upgrade (permanent) – Increases movement speed of the ship
    • Infinite boost (temporary) – Use your boost as much as you want (lasts for 30 sec)
  • Brick Smash (Breakout):

    • Invincibility (temporary) – Ball cannot be destroyed, regardless of what it touches
    • Infinite power shot (temporary) – Use your power shot as much as you want (lasts for 15 sec)
Finally, basic input handling and menu setup for the next title, Space Invaders, is implemented. That game will be released (for free) Q1 2024.
