Fishing! It's going to be one of the main things you do in Whisker Waters, required to complete quests, to make money and to improve your gear! As the core gameplay loop, you'll need to hunt and manage your baits, learn how to wrangle each individual fish and discover when, where and how to find them!


But before you cast your rod, you need to get hooked! There's no shortage of bait in Whisker Waters, collecting bugs from a bush, bartering for baits from a trader or running around with a sticky ball to hook them from over a pond, you'll need to keep track and good stock of various baits before you head fishing as a sharpened hook isn't the most appetizing meal for a fish!





Once your feline eyes are locked on to an agile little fishy, it's time to cast your rod! There's various upgrades available for your rod, as well as different baits and conditions to catch fish. In this instance, this 'Sedimophia' is only located at Fisherfolk bay, has a certain minigame associated with it, requiring you to overpower them and additionally has a taste for big beetles!





Time is money and money is fish! Does that mean fish is time? I haven't thought this through properly.
But to advance in Whisker Waters, you're going to need to get your barter on! trading fish for money, crafting items and upgrades is an important part of your journey as a ranger, certain fish are worth more, are rarer and harder to catch, such as the elusive Nightfish. As you progress, you'll have the tools to unlock better and better baits and equipment!
