Eternamine 2.3 is here!

Hey everyone & Happy new years!

My college studies combined with Christmas holidays as well as other projects in the works have left me quite busy recently, in spite of this I have had some time to create new features for Eternamine. While these new features aren't massive, they set the foundations to create lots of cool stuff in the future, both by me the developer and you players. This update has added & changed the following things:

Content

[h2]New chat feature[/h2]
The old event text in the bottom left of the UI has been replaced with a more sophisticated chat panel. Like previously, all event texts will be displayed here but now you can see a much longer history of the messages throughout your game sessions.

This new panel also allows you to enter text as well as enter a bunch of brand new commands!
[h3]Commands[/h3]
A bunch of initial commands have been added to the game, some of them are:
  • /value - Check the value of all three main currencies of whichever item you're holding
  • /warp - Warp to a mine/deep mine or the lobby. Command is locked by default but can be unlocked with the warp command rune (see below)
  • /alias - Manage your own aliases for commands, these support command chaining, allowing a single command call to call multiple commands (using << notation).
  • /timer - Call a command after a set duration, can also define repeating timers with /timerrepeating
  • /say - Output text in the chat, can be combined with arguments and /setcolor to create your own unique output commands. See the official guide for this command.

And tons of more commands, all commands can be seen by using the command /help.
You can also autocomplete commands/command arguments by pressing tab as well as going through your sent messages using the arrow keys when the chat is open.

[h2]New items[/h2]
Command runes have now been added and can be obtained from Geodes. These runes will permanently give you access to their respective command. There are currently 3 different command runes: Warp, Sell & SellItem

[h2]CheatZ gamemode[/h2]
A new gamemode has been added which allow you unrestricted access to all commands including :
  • /item - Manage items freely, give and remove whichever items you want from your inventory
  • /money - Manage your money freely
  • /tokens - Manage your tokens freely
  • /gems - Manage your gems freely

And many more!

Contest improvement

The monthly contest has been given some well-needed improvements. They are:
  • You can now see your total earned points and your current contest placement when in the contest mine
  • When your contest placement changes while in the contest mine, you will receive a notification in the chat
  • You can now see the results of all past monthly contests
  • Issues with contest rewards not being given has been further fixed. They should no longer happen


UI improvement

Most of the UI-elements in the game (especially in the lobby) have been changed slightly to look better. You will most likely notice some changes as soon as you start playing again :)

New discord server

Previously all my game's communities have been hosted under the same discord server, but now this has changed. Eternamine now has an exclusive discord server which can be joined through this link

The future of Eternamine

The development of Eternamine has gone on for over 2 years now, with with 1.5 of those years being regular content updates for the game. I now feel like I have reached a point in the game's development where most of what I wanted for the game is there. I do still love working on the game however, so I would very much now like to hear what you want from the game. Do you want more mines? Do you want more skills? New areas to explore? New abilities to unlock? Brand new features? Whatever it is, I want to hear your wishes for the game. So please do not hesitate to share your thoughts either in the Steam forums here or in the brand new discord listed above, I can't wait to hear them :)

Patch released | 13/11 - 2024

A small patch has been applied to Eternamine, it handles the following fixes and changes:
  • Added a respecc button to the skill tree
  • The "Eternal rock" achievement has been replaced with the "Eternal Mine" achievement and is now given properly when you enter the Eternal mine
  • Fixed a bug with contest rewards not being given

Patch released | 28/08 - 2024

A small patch has been applied to Eternamine, it handles the following fixes and changes:
  • Fixed an issue with certain save files that caused infinite loops, preventing the game from loading
  • Fixed a bug where sharper pickaxe income boost skill would lower token earnings instead of increase them
  • Added an option for showing tutorial on all new saves
  • Significantly increased the rarity of time orbs

Eternamine 2.2 is here!

Hey everyone!

After a summer of (trying to) relax, update 2.2 is finally ready for release. This update has added & changed the following things:

Content

[h2]Eternal mine[/h2]
Contrary to its name, the Eternal rock was seemingly shattered by a powerful miner. In an attempt to replace it, the mine master started desperately searching for new mines, and he was not disappointed with his findings.

The Eternal mine is a new, fully idle mine that can be upgraded in various ways. It costs 1 Ancient shard to unlock (miners who had the Eternal rock will have it unlocked automatically). The mine can be upgraded to yield more tokens, extract more blocks, find more items and even work offline.

4 New items have been added.
  • Sticky bomb - Acts the same as a bomb but sticks to surfaces it touches
  • Sticky dynamite - Acts the same as a dynamite but sticks to surfaces it touches
  • Time orb - Use this to instantly restock the shop, geodes and start a random event
  • Ancient map - Use this to instantly open a dark mine


[h2]New events[/h2]
3 New events have been added
  • Haunted mine (infection event)
  • Asteroid struck mine (infection event)
  • Ancient aura - Artifacts have an increased spawn rate


[h2]Combat changes[/h2]
PvE combat has been reworked slightly.
  • Enemies will now take more random routes when seeking you out. All dungeons & dark mines now have 1 enemy which can dash towards you, so be careful!
  • Defeating the dungeon boss will no longer send you back to the lobby, instead it will open a random dungeon exit for you to leave through.
  • Enemies can now be comboed by repeatedly attacking the same enemy (new leaderboard for highest combo)

You can now customize the loading screen background by talking to the decorator master


QOL
  • You can now see the block distribution of every standard mine and deep mine
  • The pet panel now has an info panel regarding your current pet level boost (from the level boost skill)
  • x50 in the purchase panels has been replaced with max
  • Upgrade buttons now display "buy [amount]x"
  • Certain items can now be quick-used by shift+right clicking (up to 1.000 per use)
  • You can now press shift to toggle the amount option in shop & upgrade panels
  • The shop sell buttons now show how much you'll be selling
  • Particle pages now loop
  • You can now click in your hotbar to switch the active item
  • You can now zoom in/out in the skill tree
  • The contest panel now displays the remaining time of the current contest


Bugs/Changes
  • Fixed a bug where spam restoring your save backup could infinitely stack certain stats
  • Fixed a bug where the Arcane dungeon would infinitely spawn the boss
  • Fixed a bug where setting rarities to negative values caused crashed (mainly in the deep mines)
  • The ability detail display now looks better, displaying stat information in a more readable way
  • Dungeon vaults now have a unique opening panel
  • Certain upgrades have had their icons redesigned
  • Added a small tutorial of the skill tree upon first level up
  • Various gameplay optimizations

Eternamine 1 year anniversary | Update 2.1 released!

Hey everyone! Today is the day of Eternamines 1 year anniversary since release. To celebrate, a content update, Eternamine 2.1 has been released :)

[h2]Collection event[/h2]
Collection events are here! Every other month, a new NPC will appear and encourage you to collect a special currency (by mining & defeating enemies), this currency can be traded for items. Make sure to spend them during the month however as he will leave at the end of it.

[h2]Lobby customization[/h2]
You can now customize the lobby in various ways. Setting up flags, changing the NPC stands as well as changing the seasons/general appearance of the lobby.

[h2]New skills[/h2]
Added 9 new skills to the skill tree

[h2]New abilities[/h2]
Added 2 new abilities. Pickaxe-throw and life-trade

[h2]New achievements[/h2]
Added 26 new Achievements (one for each standard mine)

QOL
  • You can now multi-buy ancient upgrades
  • Added a "claim all" button for achievements
  • Added a "inventory full" lock to the shop, blocking you from purchasing items that can't fit
  • Hid the rarity distribution panel/upgrade in MineLock games (since all rarities are equal in MineLock)
  • Added an "warning" panel to Steam related panels when Steam is not initialized
  • Added a "max particles" setting




Bugs/Changes
  • Fixed a bug where the bag upgrade skill had a near-zero procc chance
  • Fixed an issue where certain particles would render above UI elements
  • Fixed an issue where rarities could be set below 0%
  • Fixed an issue where you could dash out of dungeons/dark mines
  • Your pets will now periodically express themselves
  • Added a boss health bar to the dungeons
  • The "Shockwave" ability now deals more damage the closer to the point-of-impact an enemy is
