What video games inspired Fatherhood?
There is a lot of stuff that inspired us to create our new title, including movies, books, video games, etc. But let’s dive into the video games which helped us shape our game, Fatherhood.
Video games are too many, but the main ones, the inspiring ones for our game, are too few, but we can name four games as the main sources of inspiration:
This War of Mine
The Last of Us
A Plague Tale Innocence
Inside
Little Nightmares
Why? Because first, if This War of Mine and The Last of Us got combined, the result would look like something that we’re working on! Side-view perspective from This War of Mine, and a little kid to be saved by the player in A Plague Tale Innocence, are the main subjects of our game, Fatherhood. However, Little Nightmares inspired us a little bit too, since we use belt-scrolling to add more depth to the movement. Also, to form our atmosphere and put the camera in its place, we analyzed that of Inside while having the struggle, and what’s interesting is that, many people around the world from the events we were part of, found out this fact in a glimpse! We want to create an atmosphere and that’s why inspecting Inside played an important role in our development.
