Linux Support TEMPORARILY Disabled

I've decided to disable support for Linux until I can fix the bugs. Currently it's not working correctly at all in my VM, but there is no reason for it not to work, and the error messages are not helping me track the problem down. So it will take some time to fix.

I would rather the game work correctly for new players than to have them confused by bugs. So let's just take it down for the meantime. I hope to have it back up before New Year.

If you are a Linux user and this effects you, please feel free to speak up. Maybe you can help test the latest version.

Keystone Library - Merry Christmas 2024!

Merry Christmas!

After an enormous amount of work, I hereby present to you the latest version of Keystone Library.

We now have 3 books! Not complete books, but nonetheless - THREE BOOKS! I've kept a small team of people very busy over the past year. I can't believe how long it's been and how much we put into this. What a journey!

But there's MUCH MUCH more to speak of in this new edition.

We've added an actual "library" to Keystone Library. You can walk through the halls, meet some characters, and do a few new things to keep you busy between your adventures in the stories.

It's fun! And it will be even more fun in the future as we continue to add to the library.

We have 5 chapters of a new cyberpunk themed book. "New Athenia" and 5 chapters of the previously released fantasy themed book "Quest of the Lake". And the original Greek Mythology book which is mostly a typing game, but still lots of fun!

What else?!

Optimization. Despite having more content, we have a REDUCED file size, and everything is running faster and smoother than ever. Enhanced graphics. Improved interface design. More intuitive interface. Better graphic and sound controls in settings. The list goes on...

There are still problems, and I am aware of some bugs and some issues. The most obvious problem is the remaining lack of content, but that's why this release is so important. I'm hoping we can start to get the word out there and generate some excitement for Keystone Library. Once we start to build up the hype, that can help inspire more content.

I believe this release has a "full picture" of what the game is meant to be. It's a good foundation which expresses the flexibility and versatility of the chapter-based system of the Keystone books. So now with that out of the way we just need to...

1 - Keep improving upon existing things.

2 - Content, content, content. More books, more stories, more cool stuff to play with.

That's really the only thing holding us back at this point. Mostly illustration content, because that can be time consuming. We've had a few problems with illustrators over the past couple years, probably my fault due to my inexperience. But I'm getting better at it, and thus, ANOTHER upgrade we have - is an improved workflow to get more content coming out much faster than before. We have a much better system now, very streamlined, and with that I do hope to finish a couple more books at lightning speed!

If all goes well we'll have a few more releases coming up throughout 2025, and then a final release out of EA in 2026.

Full steam ahead!

Oh yeah. We have a website now too!

Whoops. Quick fix.

I just realized that some scenes in the game were set to testing mode - making it far too easy and pointless.

So I just fixed that and uploaded the lastest.

Happy boarding.

Stable version update.

I just uploaded the latest stable version of the game. Over the past week a bad version was uploaded and mostly didn't work at all. But I couldn't update due to security problems and had to wait a few days.

So during those few days I decided to also fix a bunch of small issues and clean up the system a bit. Everything seems to be running very smoothly now. I'm very happy with this release and looking forward to the next one.

I've had a lot of struggles with system design and bugs over the past year or two, but everything seems to be falling into place now - which means we can focus more THE CONTENT. And I'm very excited about that!

This will be a lot of fun. :)

Keystone Library Major Update v2.0

March 26, 2024.

This update has been a long time coming. I've added a ton of functionality for new types of chapter scenes, and worked together with our small team to add tons of new art, music, and effects. Currently we have 29 chapters of Greek Mythology content and the first 5 chapters of a fantasy story "Quest of the Lake" is up and ready to play.

I also have 5 chapters of a Cyberpunk style story just waiting to get setup, and I hope to do that over the next few weeks. So things should really start churning and burning rapidly here over the course of the next few months.

The content system has been totally revamped and we can focus on perpetual content updates from here on out. ~~~ knock on wood!

The ultimate goal, to get out of Early Access, is to have 3 completed books in the library, and a few additional novelty features - such as a very basic library environment to play in, an illustrated library where you can manage your profile or maybe buy a pet with your experience points - something like that.

I'm looking forward to see how much we get done this year.

NOTE: This major update is likely to have smaller subsequent updates while I continue to tweak some of the latest content. It might be useful to EXIT Steam and make sure you get the full version.

Please contact me with any bugs or problems, ideas or complaints.
