Keystone Library News

A couple small but critical fixes

Quick Version:

1 - Boons are less powerful now.
2 - But you can carry more with upgrades strength.
3 - Siege scene is a tad easier now.

Explained:

There was a very big problem with the economics that effects the Travel chapters. I was focusing so much on the new features that this totally slipped past me.

We know that "boons" are very useful. They help clear the screen and give bonus points for the chapter. It was supposed to "multiply your bonus by the number of items on the screen".

Well, I accidentally had it set to multiply by ALL ITEMS that had past this chapter. So the longer you played, the bigger the bonus. Thus making it way too easy!

Doh!

Fixed that. Better now.

ALSO. If you upgrade your strength you can carry more boons now. I think that's fair. A reward for investment.

And if you invest in Armor you can carry more "wine" (potions).

AND. I made the Siege scene a bit easier. I always wanted to do that. Finally got to it today.

Keystone Library - First Sale!!!

The game has now reached its true form—fully playable, feature-complete at its core, and ready for fresh eyes.

There’s still more content to come, but this is a confident release, and we’d love for you to give it a try if you haven’t already.

We’re offering a big discount this weekend as our first public push. If you jump in now, you’ll get all future updates as new books and features are added.

Thank you for supporting solo development!

Quick Updates for a Weekend Sale

I want to do a sale this weekend so I did some quick emergency fixes.

1 - As you upgrade Defense and Strength it increases your inventory for Potions (wine) and Magic (boons) respectively.

2 - Many chapter descriptions and instructions needed updating.

3 - Fixed some annoying sound effects :)

4 - A few visual bugs fixed as well.

Fixed critical bugs.

Thanks to a player for helping with testing! I just managed to fix some critical bugs.

The game was crashing due to "tweeners". A very trivial thing. Basically it means "animations wanted to do something while the player was trying to leave the stage" and that caused a conflict which crashed the game.

Seems really dumb right?

That's code for ya'.

Hopefully that's fixed now and we can put it behind us. If not please let me know.

Major Update and Bug Fixes - May 1st 2025

Hey there!

Thanks to a Steam player, we found out the game was live with major issues. Images weren't showing correctly. Sorry about that! It's complicated, but there's a reason I couldn't see that from my development PC. If I had known I would have fixed it much sooner. Thanks again to the amazing player who helped us out. If anyone else wants to contribute checkout the Steam Community page [link below]

So that's fixed now and since I had to upload a new release to fix it, I added all the latest features and graphics along with it. Not much more content, but we really polished the cyberpunk books, Neo Athenia (name changed slightly).

Meanwhile, I've been working HARD on adding new features and we have 2 artists working on new art. The new features are going to add tons of depth to the story of the game. More than just [Strength, Intelligence]. Now we have

- CRAFTING - you can make a sandwich!
- OBJECT STATES - you can change the state of objects. broken, fixed, on, off, etc
- STAT GATES - high intelligence = better hacker. high ingenuity = better crafting.

The overall schedule, which I'm very excited about, goes like this:

1 - I'm very close to wrapping up the development tools needed for the new IMMERSIVE SIM features.

2 - Then we do nothing but make content all year long.

Along the way we'll keep adding mini-games and activities, but the main storytelling component of the game will be 100% done.

This will put content speed into overdrive. Knock on wood. Check out the upgrades and get ready for more great stuff coming soon!
