Hotfix Released

Some explosion effects weren’t displaying correctly:
 • The particles were emitting for too long and ended up following the car's movement, which looked a bit off.

Hotfix Release 1.5.0.10

Hotfix Released

Fixed a bug in the vehicle selection detail view. Here, it could happen, that the vehicle stats would have been displayed incorrectly.

Release 1.5.0 has crossed the finish line!

What has changed?

Release 1.5.0 is finally here!

I've got so many changes for you... really not sure where I should begin.
Network Gameplay
The biggest change is the network layer. Here I changed the library from PUN 2 to Fishnet, which has a lot more features.
For example, you now got LAN multiplayer!!! Do you remember the good old times?

Also, it's now deeply integrated into Steam, means you can easily join a race of a friend, if he has an open lobby.

Network Gameplay :: Open Beta Test

Hey everyone,

I've been working hard over the past few weeks on a new network implementation, and I’m excited to announce that a Beta version is now available for testing!

So if you are brave enough, you can switch Smell Like Burnt Rubber to the Beta branch and test it :-)
Check out the instructions below to get started.

This update includes numerous small improvements and bug fixes, but the biggest change is the network layer overhaul:

 1. New online gameplay via Steam Servers
 2. Local LAN support

If you encounter any issues, please report them here in the Community Hub or on my Discord server. Your feedback is greatly appreciated!

How to Join the Beta Branch

1.) Right-click on Smells Like Burnt Rubber in your Steam Library and select Properties.

2.) Go to the Betas tab, choose "beta - Beta branch" under Beta Participation, and click OK.

To switch back, simply repeat the steps and select "None" under Beta Participation.

Release Date for 1.5.0

The full release is getting close! I’m aiming to launch within the next 2–4 weeks. That depends on the Beta test feedback.

Stay tuned! 🚀
