Bigby speculated that this key fragment could be tied to Aoskar, the god of portals, who met his demise at the hands of the Lady of Pain. It appears that the Athar may have come across treasures from Aoskar's temple, granting them mysterious teleportation abilities.

Moving northward in Nytheria, we confronted more Athar members, demolished another portal, and acquired a second key fragment. The Athar accused us of disrupting their plan to harness Aoskar's power in order to vanquish the Lady of Pain.

Finally, in western Nytheria, we discovered the last portal within an Athar outpost. The Athar aimed to demonstrate that gods are merely powerful mortals. Their scheme involved utilizing an artifact known as the "Key to Myriad Doors" to control Sigil's portals. Pursued relentlessly, they attempted to transport the artifact to other planes to expand their influence.

On the other side, we discovered a fierce battle raging between the Athar and the Mercykillers, with dire consequences for the wood elves of Sythairelan. After providing assistance to the elves, the Athar managed to escape, proclaiming their intention to disrupt the Lady of Pain's control over the portals.

We interrogated the Mercykillers and learned that they hailed from Sigil, pursuing the fleeing Athar who had sought refuge in Edasia. Bigby elucidated the Athar's belief that all gods are deceptive. Utilizing his formidable hand spell, Bigby obliterated the portal, yet the threat persists.

The secrets harbored within these portals and the factions of Sigil are treacherous. We must uncover their true motives.

Athar Defier, a devoted member of the Athar of Sigil, seeks to expose the falsehood of deities. The passive skill, Deceit of the Deities, has a chance to dispel a buff from the target whenever dealing damage. With the battle skill, Might of the Mortals, the Athar Defier conjures forked lightning that strikes the target and nearby enemies.
