When is the Early Access release of Dark Hours?

Hey everyone,

First off, I want to thank you all for the amazing support and excitement you show for Dark Hours. We’re so happy to have such a passionate community by our side.

Now, let’s talk about what you’ve all been waiting for!
When is the Early Access release?
We know we’ve been quiet lately, and many of you have been asking about the Early Access release date. Today, I’d like to share some insights on the development of Dark Hours over the past few months.

When we began working on Dark Hours, all we wanted was to create a fun co-op horror game to enjoy with friends, and we didn’t expect such an amazing reaction from you all. The enthusiasm you’ve shown for the game has been incredible — more than 2 millions downloads for the demo and the prologue as I’m writing these lines… mind-blowing! — and your excitement to see more is beyond what we ever dreamed of.

With so many players on board, we definitely feel the pressure now. As the saying goes, with great power comes great responsibility, and we’re aware of the high expectations for the Early Access release. Gosh, this is challenging, but we’re dedicated to meeting those expectations and offering you a truly unique and fun co-op heist-horror experience that lives up to your excitement.

That’s why we’ve taken the time to read all your messages, comments and feedback, and to respond as much as we can on the Steam forums and our Discord (and yes, it takes time!). We’re also actively working on many new features that we want to have ready for Early Access, including:
 • New scary monsters
 • Difficulty levels from Easy to Nightmare
 • Customization options like colors and items
 • Procedurally generated maps - which is not so easy to implement 😅
 • An improved gameplay loop to immerse you even more into your heist night
 • New missions other than stealing the Royal Crown
 • New gameplay items, and fun gameplay features
 • … and other cool stuff I might have missed!
All this to ensure we can bring you the best possible experience for you and your friends.
So, we’ve decided to reschedule the Early Access launch to the end of October.
This extra time will allow us to add and polish all these exciting new features you’ve been asking for.
We know the wait is going to be a bit longer than expected, please bear with us!

Steam relay servers are back to normal!

I am happy to announce that the Steam servers have been repaired. You can now play Dark Hours with others again by creating and joining lobbies as usual!

For those who might have missed this unfortunate episode, Steam experienced significant issues with its servers on August 24th, which prevented Dark Hours players from playing together for 10 long hours. It took a lot of patience, but everything is finally fixed!

Don't hesitate to let us know if you encounter any further issues, we are here to help!

See you soon,
Raven

Steam relay servers are down

Edit:
I'm happy to announce that the Steam servers have been fixed. You can now play Dark Hours with others by creating and joining lobbies as usual!

----
Steam servers, specifically Steam connection managers were down today, and the Steam network services have still issues preventing Steam players to play in multiplayer to different games, Dark Hours included.
Please be patient the time Steam solves their issues, we are not the only game impacted by this problem. This is global and on the Steam end, only them can fix it.

You probably won't be able to join lobbies till they have not fixed their servers as Dark Hours is using the Steam connections to make people play together.

Again only Valve / Steam knows when it'll be fixed as this is on their backend / servers. As connection managers are back online, we hope that Steam multiplayer relay servers will get fixed soon...
Sadly, we have no official information how long it will impact Dark Hours players

We have contacted the Steam support team and waiting for their answers

I'm sorry for the inconvenience, I'll keep you updated,
Raven

Half a million players on Dark Hours!

Hey fellow robbers,

On July 18th, we've released the Dark Hours Prologue.
We're thrilled to announce we've reached an amazing milestone of more than 500K unique players on the Prologue exactly 1 month later! It's huge! 🔥🔥🔥

And we are not even counting the 400K unique players of the demo as some of you might have played both versions.

https://store.steampowered.com/app/2208570/Dark_Hours/

This is so huge we've been very busy answering to the questions and feedbacks of our new growing community! This is very exciting!

Please continue to express your feedbacks and what you are expecting for the full game! Your feedback and support are what make Dark Hours truly special!

But don't worry, we are also very (very) busy to work on updates for Dark Hours... and obviously to prepare the release of the full game of Dark Hours!
We have already worked internally on improvements on gameplay features and the statues for the next update, and we are also currently working on 2 new monsters. We might add at least one of them in the next demo and prologue update. We've decided for those monsters to try something new (no spoiler) so that takes some time to prepare and tweak. Please follow us to be notified when the new update will be coming! We might even use the Steam playtest feature to test it with some players before making it public!
We are also working on new gameplay features and new maps by improving our procedural generation system to get the renewed experience of Dark Hours. ...but I'll let it for another post!

And as we are progressing in the production of the full game. Be sure to wishlist and follow Dark Hours to be notified when we'll have news to share about it! Dont forget you can try the demo or the prologue, alone or up to 4 players!
