Gearing up for a big content and polish update

Hey Guys!

We've been hard at work on tons of new content and polish.

Early WIP test of alien wildlife animations getting close too! Getting that hamgrazer to walk instead of float has been a wild ride.

Here's what's on the roadmap for September:

* Inventory
* Ammo
* Crafting
* Stats Overhaul

Until then ... keep surviving in the alien wilderness!

Vision, stealth and cover

Hey Survivors!

We have a line of sight + vision heat map to showcase. Why is this important? It affects all things:

- Line of sight
- Stealth
- Detection
- Cover
- Stance mechanics
- UI overlays

Don't want colonists getting caught in the open thinking they're safe, then getting headshot by a Remnant solider. Now you can stay in cover, use a crouched stance and sneak by an enemy you have no business engaging head on.

Till next time. Keep surviving ... under the cover of darkness.

Community Fashion #7

Hey guys,

it’s been a while since our last backer update. We’ve had our hands full getting out the Content Creator Demo, and since then we’ve been working hard on bugfixes and upcoming features. We’ll be sharing a more detailed progress update soon. In the meantime we have a juicy new backer highlight for you, and this time it’s a double feature!
Charlie Don’t Scavenge
Big-time backer ElfensFinest supported us with both a hat submission and an outfit during the Kickstarter. Her first request was for a Vietnam war style steel pot helmet.

Though not up to modern ballistic standards, the lightweight design still does its job of protecting your noggin from lethal shell fragments. Wearers may or may not be “born to chill”.
Magic Scavenger Girl Powers, Activate!
Taking this cute costume to post-apocalyptic AnimeCon you’re bound to take first place in the Cosplay Competition, and not just because all the other contestants are dead.

For the magical boys we have an equally snazzy magician’s outfit. Mystery cape and mask not included.

Whichever style you prefer, be sure to keep an eye out while looting in the jungle ruins. Lest your ‘Nam LARP squad might find itself ambushed by a group of Vietcong cosplayers.

That’s it for today, and if you too have a cool cosplay idea you’d like to see added to the game, be sure to check out our backer store where you can help support development with your submissions!

Till then, keep surviving ... in style

Improved pathing, doors and using the environment

Hey survivors!

Some of the biggest pieces of feedback we received from content creators taking a look at our pre-alpha demo was:

1. Poor pathing and movement animations
2. Lack of doors for structures
3. Inability to use the whole vertical environment for building and strategic positioning

Behold! Characters now:

* Run smoothly
* Path intelligently
* Use doors and
* Can get up cliffsides

Till next time. Keep surviving ... (by not getting stuck on the in-game environment)

Behold: Stairs!

Hey Survivors,

Multi-level base building is nice. But how do you get up and down the levels?

Stairs! Obviously.

We've got em' ready with pathing updates to make sure no one is getting stuck.

What are stairs for?

- Taking high ground to defend your base
- Assaulting a fortified enemy base with enemies barricaded inside
- Making use of vertical real estate for base expansion
- Lot's more that we'll let the player community figure out and have fun with

Till then, keep surviving ... upstairs and downstairs
